This book had content was cute, that was riveting and fun for a young child. It would be great for those children blending two families, especially for small girls involved in the wedding. The illustrations were absolutely gorgeous, the worlds and creatures Farrah visits are creative and full of imagination.

Like most younger children, Farrah is very imaginative and loves to make up rhymes and songs when excited or experiencing something new. I found this to be confusing at first, as it seemed there were two separate books at times and took away from the storyline at times. Ultimately, for a child reading this, it didn’t take away from the story, it added a little oomph. It was my daughter’s favorite part.

This is a beautifully illustrated book by mother-daughter pair Ann Mclauchlin and Jill Law, former daycare owners, and for me Emily Walker-Vaughan’s magical illustrations make the story. They are so colorful and full of detail that a child could spend long, enjoyable hours examining the pictures without even reading the story. In fact, the pictures invite imaginative story-building on their own. That said, the book is a fun story about a young girl who is going to be a bridesmaid in her mother’s wedding. Farrah, her mother, and her grandmother are shopping for dresses. When Farrah wanders off, she is swept away into a magical adventure which includes seahorses, mermaids, Pegasus, unicorns, macaws, a fairy princess and other fun real and imagined beings. The magical passages are in rhyme. This is a book with many riches and could be enjoyed by many ages.

This was a very fun and whimsical read. Farrah's mom is getting married, and she is going to be a flower girl. This adventure starts at a bridal shop. Farrah wanders off and finds herself on a magical journey to find the perfect dress.

Fa-ra-ra boom-de-ay! has that over the top Disney fairytale feel. Instead of characters breaking into song, we have some very catchy rhyming and gorgeous illustrations. I loved the artist's great use of color. It was fun meeting all the magical creatures Farrah meets in her magical adventures.

Overall, this was a fun, quick read. I can see all the girly girls or young princesses loving this book. I can definitely see the lovely artwork inspiring some refrigerator worthy *I absolutely hate the title of this book, because I have a child that's dyslexic. This was a cute book to read, the colors are beautiful, and the illustrations are adorable. This was a great hit in my house.
