A thoroughly enjoyable read, I loved this and really thought it deals with the IVF issues a couple deals with and the pressures on their relationship well and with sensitivity. The characters were fantastic, well fleshed out flaws and all, they were so well written I could feel the love between them even though they were drifting apart. The dual POV is really nicely done and for a story about a couple struggling I thought it was nice to read both perspectives for once. Thoroughly enjoyed this and definitely recommended !

This was a really enjoyable read. You can work out where it's going from quite early on, but its still entertaining. I found myself chuckling about some of the one liners. Would love to jump back into their lives to see what happened next.

This was very charming, a romantic comedy is practically a fantasy novel in its removal from reality. An earnest read about two people who were once desperately in love, finding each other again - unknowingly - through a dating app designed to encourage and support extra marital affairs. We're in the joke from the outset, as we watch Tara and Colin fall for each other all over again - even if they haven't got a clue. A nice slice of escapism.

This is a very entertaining read with some tender moments too. Please look up trigger warnings in regards to IVF/infertility before reading.

Just couldn’t get into it, just found there was no chemistry between the couple to begin with, very sad to start right of the bay with the third failed IVF attempt even though I fortunately cannot relate
Was not a fan of the writing style, just not for me

Trigger warning for failed IVF attempts should be stated. Due to this, the couple feels they are losing their spark, so what better than trying a new dating app called Fling? This was witty and funny and I did thoroughly enjoy it. It felt relevant today, where IVF can be detrimental to relationships. The writing style was easy to read and I got through this book quickly. Enjoyable and would recommend it.

I really enjoyed Fling it’s like a modern day You’ve Got Mail, I devoured this book reading it in just two days.
After three failed IVF attempts Tara decides she can’t go through it all again but her husband Colin is desperate to become a dad and wants them to do another round.
The toll of the IVF and failing to conceive has put major strain on their marriage and they are drifting further and further apart.
They both decide to download this new dating app aimed at married people who want to have an affair with no strings attached called Fling after hearing all about it on the radio.
Tara decides to download it for research purposes as she wants to pitch for the marketing account for the app. Colin is egged on by his boss to download it.
When they both sign up they get a 100% match with someone – but should they pursue it?
There’s some really hilarious moments throughout the book.
Emily and Rory are both hilarious supporting characters. But I really felt for both Tara and Colin – marriage isn’t always sunshine and joy it can be tough but communicating with each other is the most important thing.
This is a very entertaining read with some tender moments too.
The marriage counselling session was like a tennis match back and forth!
Thank you NetGalley for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review

DNF AT 25%

I just could not get the chemistry between the pair. The constant bickering made this supposed romance uncomfortable, and the astrological mentions were downright cringey.

I think this is one of those books that you can tell was written by a man.

Hurrah for an infertility and IVF storyline, not mentioned enough in books. Got me straight in to the couple's thoughts and feelings. Intriguing concept of a dating app for married people and if those stats are true wowies. (Says the single carefree woman!)

I enjoyed the start of this, but felt it got a bit lost in the middle. The will they- wont theys just fell a bit flat. Plus ALL those messages. Great side characters and a couple of good moments.

Great book, easy and exciting read.
I really enjoy this book and would look into more from the author.

I didn’t enjoy this one as much as I thought would! Liked the two main characters but took me while to get into.

What do you consider infidelity? What would you do if you discovered your partner had joined a tinder-style hook-up app?

Tara and Colin’s marriage is strained - after several failed IVF attempts, it appears the spark has gone.

Both are convinced to try out “Fling,” the new app that allows individuals to meet for no-strings sexual encounters with strangers without the other knowing.

Although this modern tale has many humorous scenes and sensitive moments highlighting the strain that trying to conceive can put on a relationship, as well as couples should never feel ashamed to ask for help.

The ending was deflating and wasn’t really where I expected this to go. Perhaps because of the genre of this book, it was destined to only end in one way…but after the personal journeys that both characters have taken, it just didn’t seem to “fit.” (If that’s the correct word to use?!) Maybe I’m overthinking it!

This read does offer a lot to think about; where our boundaries lay within a relationship? Can a relationship survive without trust, honesty and communication? Does the use of modern technology count as being unfaithful? There are plenty of elements to discuss, making this an ideal book club read!

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC. I’d like to start this by saying at first I didn’t know if I was going to like this book as it took me a while to get into and I didn’t really like Tara’s personality but as I stated getting further into the book I started liking the plot. It had a good storyline and the last few chapters when they were separated and then when they found there way back to each other where my favourite. I think this book showed that even when you fell out of love you can find your way back to each other.

Thank you netgalley for an ARC copy of this book.
A slow read for me in terms of how quickly I can usually get through a book. Trigger warnings towards IVF. Writing style is easy to read and chapter lengths good. Great mix of humour and sentiment and I enjoyed the plot. I’d be curious to see how this book is portrayed as an audiobook as I think I’d enjoy it more in that format. Overall pleasant read and would read more by author

Thank you to @NetGalley, @panmacmillan and the author @josephmurraywrites for the E-copy of ‘Fling’ ahead of publication on the 2nd February.

‘Fling’ centres around married couple Tara and Colin have who exhausted and battered after three failed rounds of IVF. An eighteen year relationship and although they were once deeply in love, they are now stagnating. It is a whirlwind of un-emptied dishwashers, broken promises and driving each other to distraction.

Whilst driving to work one day, Tara is intrigued by the latest app sweeping Ireland. Fling is a discrete app whereby married people are matched and free to pursue an affair. With it seeming as though Colin is never going to give her the attention she craves, she downloads it. This is research for her marketing job at first but when she gets a 100% match, all research goes out of the window and she is drawn to the man giving her all of the textual attention she is craving.

Colin is, according to his best pal Rory, a “safe” man. Knowing that he’s treading water with Tara and craving a dangerous liaison, he also downloads the app. Cue, the woman of his dreams appearing and as the complete antithesis of his wife, he is gripped by her suggestive messages and her magnetism.

This book was such a good read and as well as it being heart-felt in the portrayal of a disintegrating marriage, it had some real comedy moments. It is thought-provoking and in this time of the internet really dominating lives, it shows just how a connection can be made through an app like this when people are lonely despite being married. Fate, destiny and to quote the writer, synchronicity are at the heart of this book and if you’re looking for something light-hearted, funny and ultimately heart-warming, look now further and get this on your pre-order list.

Overall an enjoyable read that left me with a smile on my face. Found the pace dragged a bit in places but solid characterisations – loved both Colin and Tara individually and together – and a bit of a tear-jerker. A really fresh take on internet dating which I would recommend.

This story was an interesting read, I’m always curious about IVF and I feel like this book had a good premise. The idea of the plot was great, I did enjoy reading it and seeing what would unfold but I did guess pretty quickly what was going to happen. The characters were fun, their love genuine but I did find them hard to connect with from a reader perspective.

Overall I enjoyed this but it isn’t something I would be raving about to my friends.

I read this book super quickly, and quite quickly worked out what was going to happen.
I didn't love the book or the idea of it but there were some characters I really enjoyed and would consider reading about again.

Tara and Colin's marriage is in trouble. Both join a new dating website, and instantly get 100% matches. What are the chances of being paired with your spouse? Funny and hard to put down, waiting for the ending, a really enjoyable read.
