ve just spent about two days with Tara and Colin. They are happily married, live in a posh part of Dublin, and both have great jobs. Everything is perfect, except, they can't conceive. Tara wants to accept the inevitable, Colin wants to explore every avenue. As communication between them breaks down, and with both of them seeing flaws in their relationship, they turn to the infidelity app, 'Fling'....full of Irish wit and charm...'You know, men should be really grateful that Women want equality and not revenge!'...This is a brilliant, and funny, modern tale of love. The characters are so funny that they had me laughing out loud. A proper page turner of a book, with creative characters. A fast paced read that I couldn't put down!
I absolutely adored this book! It had me hooked from the first chapter. This book was well written and covered some sensitive subjects very well! The humour was brilliant and definitely lightened the storyline up and made me want to keep reading.
This was a simple, fun, easy and quick read. The perfect type of book for your holiday, beach, pool kind of read. This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.
The E-Book could be improved and more user-friendly, such as links to the chapters, no significant gaps between words some text written has been typed in red and a cover for the book would be better. It is very document-like instead of a book.
3.5/5.
At the start of the novel, Tara and Colin have just been through another round of unsuccessful IVF and the strain on their relationship is both understandable and evident. Then, along comes Fling, a new app for adults stuck in static marriages who need some additional excitement, glamour and desire in their lives. Well, of course this includes everybody, so Fling becomes the day’s topic of conversation and Tara and Colin are prime potential clients.
You can guess what happens. They both sign up and find 100% matches with their alter egos, Claire and Jack. Then, these illicit relationships bloom online with reality almost upsetting the apple cart!
As you might also expect, Tara and Colin have friends to give them good and bad advice as the plot develops and, yes, it does get complicated without anyone ever quite doing anything they shouldn’t before a double-barrelled happy ending.
It’s a funny book with likeable characters and it might make readers think about what they might be like and what they might look for on an app like Fling while also thinking about how to spice up their relationships. It sometimes reads like a screenplay and you could see it ending up as one. Read it for pleasure, even buy it for your partner but don’t take it too seriously!
I loved everything about this book!
It’s adorable, touching, emotional and extremely well written. Joseph Murray is a very clever guy and an author that I’ll be watching out for in future. I can’t wait to read his next book already.
I loved the humour and it kept me wanting to go back to it. It screams to be made into a tv programme. A fab book and a true 5 star read.
The premise was great and this turned out to be a wonderful romance. Cute but not over the top I could not put this book down and read it late into the night just so I could finish it before the work week started!
This was god damn adorable. It was cute and endearing without being sickly sweet. Highly recommend this book for lovers of romance, comedy and how to get out of a rut!
This is an incredible read. It is well written with a compelling story that gripped me and wouldn't let me go, I read this in one sitting, and well developed characters that I loved. I coudln't stop thinking about this book and I am still thinking about it, I loved Colin and Tara both seperately and together. It was heartfelt and funny in equal measure and I loved it,
Fling is the story of Colin and Tara who have being together for 18 years but lately they have lost each other . When a new dating app called fling is launched especially for married people to enjoy discreet affairs. They find themselves separately drawn to this app. I really enjoyed the writing style of this book reminded me of earlier Marian Keyes. I found myself really thinking about the choices the characters were making and how I would feel in the same situation. This book is out in Feb 2023 and I would highly recommend for an easy read with some difficult topics discussed throughout. 5 stars from me.
