A cute yet fairly simple story of an alien learning that their role isn't a good one and making things right.

It was really cute and a bit different from what i'm used to read, but i loved the artwork and the colour palette.

This was a lovely story about an alien coming to Earth to gather data on humans as directed by their manager. When the alien makes an error in judgment, the manager comes for a visit.

I would like to thank NetGalley the publishers and the Author, for allowing me to read an e-ARC of "My Life Among Humans".
We follow a scout under the orders of her manager, to collect as much data as he can from a planet called Earth.
With this adventure, he started learning more about himself than he ever expected.
The illustrations are unique and the colours are vivid.
It's a nice story, I recommend it, for all ages.

This was requested when I first found out about NetGalley and I had requested so many ARCs that I could not get to all of them before they were archived. I really wanted to get to this one, as it seemed interesting. If I can find this somewhere for a reasonable price, I will try to get it! I am giving this book three stars, as I don't want to give it a good or bad rating, since I did not get to it and we have to leave a star rating.

A story about seeing life from an alien perspective shown through the eyes of an actual alien. The intrigue of the main character mixed with their unintentional lack of empathy, creates a fresh take on the view of humanity. The art style is refreshingly unique which helps the sparse desert setting maintain its own character.

I absolutely loved this novel.
Such a great story with defined characters and a great plot.
What drew me in the most was how fleshed out the characters were
The writing style was fluid and relateable.
The cover was fascinating as well.
A reviting read overall
Definitely recommend adding this to your TBR!

Thank you so much Netgalley and the author for the ARC!

I found the intro quite boring. The plot isn't anything I haven't heard before and while the artwork is quite lovely, it couldn't fill in for the writing. *But* There is a but.

I also happen to be an emotional sap. By the time, I reached at the end of the story, I became really fond of the alien and its desperate attempts to keep itself out of trouble. I might have even teared up a little bit. (Is this the part where I confess that the little guy reminded me of myself?) Anyhoo, it's really sweet and perfect for a short read. Recommended!

This is a simple contemplative sci-fi story about an alien observer and his misadventures while trying to observe humans in a small desert town. If simple and contemplative is your thing it'll definitely satisfy. I liked both the story and the art, we don't need a ton of info to get the beats of this story and the art conveys easily half the story here. Just a good little slice of story to read between heavier books.

I LOVED the art on this one - it felt sort of Bob's Burgers or Jimmy Neutron-esque. And while the alien protagonist was a bit hard to sympathize with, that didn't reduce the charm of the story and its message. I just wish the story had more room to be fleshed out - it would have made it feel a bit less like it had the too rapid pacing of an afterschool special.

My Life Among Humans is an extraordinary science fiction graphic novel that takes readers on a thrilling journey. The artwork is nothing short of spectacular, with intricate details that transport you to a mesmerizing futuristic world. The story is a rollercoaster of emotions, filled with suspense that keeps you glued to the pages. The characters are well-crafted, each with their unique traits and motivations, making you deeply invested in their fates. A definite five-star read for sci-fi enthusiasts and graphic novel lovers alike.

While reading this I became aware of wanting to like this more than I actually was. I appreciated the art & the plot as a whole but just wasn't connecting with it. There is an audience of readers who won't so much mind the things that didn't work for me & I am certain that this will be a hit for them.

This was such a fun graphic novel! I liked the art style, which added to the alien aspect and made it seem more from the alien's perspective. Good story.

Thank you to NetGalley for this title.

This story was interesting and intriguing but I wanted a bit more, I wished it was a little longer. I did really enjoy the quirky art style a great deal though and I would be greatly interested in more work from this artist in the future.

The art in this was fantastic! At first I thought the plot, while cute, was very simple, but ultimately it was also crazy good. A superb little graphic novel.

An interesting little story, about an alien doing his duty (secretly spy on humans), messing up and then slowly coming to question his place in the alien hierarchy.

That sounds quite dry, it's more fun than that. The art is quirky, I think it worked quite well with the story. Not mindblowing, but a nice story.

Short, but interesting! While just under 100 pages, a lot happens in this story. We follow an engineered alien, who has been tasked with observing humanity. Pure data is the most important thing to its manager, so when the alien accidentally reveals itself to a human, the only thing it can do is take over the human’s body, hoping to isolate the exposure. But humans are highly social creatures, and things begin to spiral quickly. Can the alien avoid detection? Both the detection of humanity…and it’s manager?

I feel like this could make a great comedy animation. Just an escalating set of mistakes and panic attacks from the alien, as it tries to keep its mission going. Plus, seeing the alien’s attempts to mimic human behavior and failing spectacularly. There’s a bit of that here, but the book is really rather short, so we don’t get too many jokes. I actually anticipated more humor since the art style is STRONGLY reminiscent of “Bob’s Burgers.”

A good library pick for an afternoon break.

This is a fun comic. The art style worked really well with the story and I loved the little alien. I enjoyed that it's told from the alien's perspective. All of the antics were adorable and I thought the look at human life from an outside viewpoint was interesting.
