4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Well this was a cute, quick and fun romcom. Wyatt is definitely another book crush. I loved his character. As far as Aly, it’s complicated. Sometimes I really liked her and other times she drove me nuts. She was annoying at times, especially when she wouldn’t watch the video of her fight with her co-workers that was posted online. It was just stupid. Anyone in their right mind would want to see a video that includes themselves, especially if you don’t remember what happened and had to take a leave of absence from work because of it. But by the end of the book she grew on me and I really liked her with Wyatt. Harry (Aly’s best friend) was also another favorite character. I want Harry as my best friend. 🤣
As far as the writing goes, it was cute, corny and fun! There were some parts that were a bit “cringy” as my daughter would say. (Examples: “You’re the beach” and “give me a ducking break” - and then to clarify that she didn’t really say “beach” or “ducking”. 🙄 It was just very juvenile and made me feel like I was reading a YA novel. Maybe it was meant to be cute, but I thought it was just weird).
Overall I do recommend this book if you’re in the mood for a fun romance book. I love the way it ended and wouldn’t mind a sequel to see what the future holds for Aly and Wyatt.

With the death of her beloved Luke Aly goes back to the place they loved but upon arrival Aly didn’t expect Luke’s best friend to have inherited a place, but with things they share in common after Luke!
I have enjoyed many of the author's previous works and was excited to read this one. Her main characters are usually women navigating complicated life circumstances. This one was no exception, though I did feel it was trying to cover a few too many triggering experiences in one space.
This novel explores the layers of grief that Aly experiences when she loses her brother unexpectedly. Aly must deal with her grief and her complicated and traumatic family history. This is a beautiful story of healing, redemption and love. I really enjoyed this novel and recommend it. I liked the complexity and the layers of these characters that made it feel different than your typical romance novel.
There are a few triggers in this book: death of a brother, alcoholism, child abuse and neglect.

Camille Pagan has become an auto buy author for me. I adore her writing style and always find myself loving her titles. It was a quick read but that doesn't take away from its impact. There were difficult topics that were covered and they were covered with kindness and I will continue to be such a fan of this author and her work!
Good for You is cathartic, emotional, and entertaining. I really fell in love with the characters, but there was depth to the story that is sometimes missing in fiction.
Another impossible to put down book by Camille Pagan! "Good For You" follows Aly, a magazine editor, as she flees to her dead brother's beach house following an epic meltdown at work only to discover Wyatt, her brother's best friend is already living there. Alyis forced to deal with the death of her brother Luke, their traumatic childhood, and her current job situation, and Wyatt might be just the person who can help her the most.
I always enjoy this author's novels. This one is about Aly, who is dealing with some work drama and the recent loss of her brother. She decamps to the lake house he bequeathed to her, only to find more complications - good and bad.
I really expected to like this book because of its short content and enthusiastic reviews. But unfortunately, this book turned out not to be for me. The romance part comes rather abruptly and because of that, I did not find it very well developed. In addition, the book deals with some heavy topics like grief and past traumas. The main character is understandably very strongly affected by this in her thoughts and actions. However, I was sometimes annoyed by her "weakness" and her inability to make decisions and did not understand the reasoning behind the decisions she did make. I found the story and characters somewhat flat and predictable, and I unfortunately found some inconsistencies in the story as well. Although the writing style is very smooth, I found it difficult to get through because of this.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for providing me with a free advanced reader copy of this book. This did nog affect my review in any way.
3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 I really liked this books but I felt like it had holes in the story at times. I loved the two main characters though. Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for ARC.
Camile pagan never disappoints me! Her books always stick with me long after I have finished. I find myself devastated, happy and worried along side her characters like they are my dearest friends. This book was no exception. My heart broke for Aly and her life collapsing around her and I rooted for her to rise from the ashes.
Wyatt was a fun character meant to throw. Wrench in Aly’s plan, but her was deeper than he appeared as well.
I had fun spending time with this cast of characters just trying to do their best while their emotions fought to get the better of them.
Thanks NetGalley for the eARC :)
This may be a difficult read for some to get through, because of certain themes/subject matter (death of sibling and after affects/childhood trauma) but I promise you it is worth it if you commit to seeing this book through. I loved how Camille Pagan wrote her characters and their unique predicaments. Though I cannot relate to the main character's struggles fully I found myself having mercy upon her and reflecting on things I have faced in my own life. I really enjoy books that allow you to reflect on your own life and help you reframe and develop a new perspective!
Not Camille Pagan’s best work but an enjoyable enough novel about a young woman who inherits her brother’s beach house and something else she wasn’t expecting
A quick and smooth read, perfect for a beach read this summer! Pagán does a wonderful job weaving in real life struggles of being a young adult woman grappling with grief and the (at times less than sparkly) journey of finding yourself.
Aly, a magazine exec, unexpectedly finds herself at the lake house in Northern Michigan she inherited from her late older brother - where she (even more unexpectedly) finds out that she didn't inherit the house on her own. We find Aly and Wyatt, her brother's best friend, navigating grief, soul searching, and even some therapeutic resolution of the ties that bind.
This reminded me a bit of The Bold Type, and while at times I wished there was a *touch* more plot and character development, overall I was incredibly pleased with the story line. Fervently hoping the final version includes an epilogue (or a sequel)! I would LOVE to read more of Wyatt and Aly... And Cindy, and Mari, and the rest of the cast of characters in this.
Huge thanks to Camille Pagán, NetGalley, and Union Lake for the ARC!
Good for You was such a great read about grief, love and pushing yourself off your limits. It was a non-stop read for me and I really liked our FMC, Aly. The author has a way of writing where you just feel for the characters, experiencing the emotions that they’re also experiencing. All in all, it’s a good book and very evocative.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.
To begin, I was pleasantly surprised that the book was majorly set in Michigan, I loved that! And just to get right down to the point, I really loved this book! I am finding it hard to give a proper review without spoilers, but I love the way the set up of Aly and Wyatt played out. I love how we found out each piece of the story, it never felt too drawn out, and the pieces of the story fell into place at all the right times. I cried, many tears reading, which makes me feel like the book served it purpose, I connected emotionally to the story, and again, just really loved everything about this book. Bonus that it was a super quick read, I love when I can get through a book and still feel like it gave me everything I needed, without taking days of my free time!
I am giving this book 5 stars, because I can't really think of anything negative to say. I will encourage all of my reader friends to read this book ASAP!
Good, For You was a quick, enjoyable story that was OK for me. I never became fully invested in the storyline or characters. Main themes were grief, past abuse and love. I found Aly's strong aversion to swearing odd. Despite the cover, this is not a fluff read.
Finishing a book the day after a time change is a feat in itself because you’re so exhausted 😴 but you also feel accomplished. 💪🏻
Finished ✔️ Good for You by Camille Pagan and it was pretty good.
