Great easy read, which is humorous and light-hearted, perfect summer read.
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.
I love this author! Discovered her by accident and now have read every book she has written. Sophia dares to write about real life situations that are hilarious and something you would only tell your closest girlfriends. Always a joy to pick up one of her books. And she is lovely on social media too!
My review:⭐⭐⭐⭐
Looking Out For Love by Sophia Money-Coutts has Stella, who wants love but things have been going badly for her, and she needs to prove herself to her family.
It's a light read, so perfect for a holiday. There's romance, family drama and a dash of believing in yourself, so all in all, a fun read!
I was given this book in exchange for an unbiased review, so my thanks to NetGalley and to HQ.
I loved escaping to Stella’s world. Flatmate dramas, neighbours you fall in love with too, and a hot doctor - what’s not to love?
Sophie Money - Coutts: Looking Out For Love.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I wasn’t disappointed.
I really enjoyed this light hearted fun read.
Stella, the main character took a bit of warming too, but I did quite like her by the end.
The story flowed well and kept me turning the pages.
There are a few really good, laugh out loud moments.
Over all, this book will leave you with all the feels and a smile on your face.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
With thanks to Netgalley and HQ for a digital arc of this title.
I’m afraid I didn’t enjoy this book. I just didn’t like the main character and couldn’t relate to her.
This book had everything romance, sad bits and also funny.
Stella wants to find love and a chance encounter she meets this man called Fitz who she thinks is the real thing, but is he the perfect man for her only time will tell. I also liked Billie her best friend who goes through an hard time. The neighbour Harold was a lovely man. Stella has gone from job to job but finds an job working for an private investigator and has she finally found the job for her.
I found the book appealing and also a nice holiday read. You kind of knew what was going to happen in the end.
The book was an quick read and kept me wanting to find out what happened.
This was a very light, easy to read book. The perfect kind for a holiday. Somewhat predictable and a little unrealistic but enjoyable all the same.
Stella Shakespeare just wants to find love but she always seems to fall for the wrong men. When she meets Fitz she is convinced she has met the love of her life and cannot stop thinking about him. She is from a wealthy family but it's trying to make it on her. After a disastrous interview she literally bumps into a stranger who gives her a job. It is quite far fetched but if you can get past that, it's a good enough story to get you out of a reading slump.
It was a fun and enjoyable read which also covered some serious health issues. I'm sure this would make a great rom com movie. Although I couldn't relate to Stella at all and found her decisions quite naive and ridiculous at times, she was forced to grow and mature as the novel went on. There are some really funny and laugh out loud moments. Unfortunately, I found our leading character quite annoying and frustrating so just couldn't connect.
I really loved this book. I loved the characters and Sophia's writing style was fantastic, very funny! Would definitely recommend.
Ahhh this was such a great book. It was fun, laugh out loud funny, had some sad moments, full of wonderful characters and a brill storyline!
The writing is witty and light. It’s focuses on a mixture of things, friendship, family, romance.
The characters are what really made this story for me. They have such great personalities and everyone just gets along so beautifully. Stella really made me laugh at times, I think there was great character development for her, she’s dealing with numerous things in life and learns from mistakes on the way.
Can we please talk about Harold. Oh how elderly characters in books just really get me! He was so lovely with his dog and I just really loved his personality and his friendship with the other characters.
Really wonderful book!
I loved reading about Stella and her trials and tribulations in looking for love in @sophiamcoutts book Looking Out For Love. But I also loved her relationship with her best friend Billie and the friendship she strikes up with her elderly neighbour Harold. I could see him with a little spin-off novella!
This book was funny, sad and had a great mix of characters and I really want to know what happens next for Stella!
As always the writing style from Money-Coutts is captivating, light hearted and comical, at various points you will laugh out loud at the relatable content. Although a little predictable at times it is a lovely, easy going read that has you connecting with the characters and rooting for the good guy. This ticks all the romcom boxes and is thoroughly enjoyable, a definite one to read.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I couldn't finish this one because I couldn't find it in me to have sympathy for the main character. Her personality was very grating to me and I found her downright annoying and dislikable.
Stella wants what we all want…an all consuming, can’t think of anything or anyone else kind of love!
Like Stella, I found myself looking in the wrong places and ending up broken hearted one too many times.
I found this book heartwarming, funny and charming! I loved following Stella on her quest to find love and the additional characters along the way were perfect!
Stella Shakespeare who comes from a privileged background, isn't having a good time of it. It's true when they say that money can't buy happiness.
She's just been dumped by her well off boyfriend who she thought she would naturally marry and her father who she doesn't have the best of relationships withand who has stopped supporting her financially which was the only sort of support she ever got from him.
She's broke, drinking too much and needs a job but without any work or life experience that would help her with a job. She doesn't lack admirers but they don't love her or vice versa.
Then she finds Mr Right. He is everything that she is looking for. Handsome, well dressed, well spoken, well off and is providing the all consuming can't concentrate on life falling head over heels love that she is looking for.
Then, without even trying, she lands herself a job with a slightly odd private investigator. A job that she can't help enjoying. Everything is perfect. Life has a habit of turning everything on its head though.
Whilst she is busy staying in hotels and being consumed by that falling in love feeling, her best friend and flat mates life is falling apart with health issues. the pesky one night stand she had keeps popping up in her life and she spots more than one affair which is close to her heart whilst working for the private investigator.
This is a light hearted, emotional read. Stella is a slightly likeable but annoying character to start but as she takes hold of her life and realises that not all that glitters is gold, becomes much more likeable with some hilarious scenes along the way.
This is ideal for readers of romance and romcom.
Thanks to HQ and #NetGalley for this preview read of #LookingOutForLove
This is a somewhat light romance read (there is a storyline with Billie, the best friend, and it changes the tone. It’s health related so check content warnings if it could affect you) and if you’ve enjoyed other books from this author, you’ll probably like this one.
Unfortunately, I did not warm to the FMC, Stella. She was in her early 30s, which I usually enjoy, but she was frustrating to read. Stella is self absorbed, a terrible friend and just needs to grow the f*ck up. The story with one of the male characters was clear as day; I didn’t see any chemistry with Stella and sadly, I was just getting through the pages waiting for the fallout. There wasn’t enough Sam, IMHO and Harold stole my heart ❤️
Easy to read and entertaining! I enjoyed this book and found it be be funny (maybe not as funny as previous titles by this author) but with some endearing undertones around the importance of friendship. The characters are fabulously flamboyant and full of zest which brings this book to life. Recommended as a light read to bring joy to your day.
Thank you Netgalley
Looking Out For Love by Sophia Money-Coutts
3.5 STARS
A solid readable romance with a good plot and likeable characters (in the end!). Stella starts off selfishly but redeems herself by the end.
A good holiday/beach read type book.
I’ve read books written by Sophia Money-Coutts and have found them hilarious. This was quite a funny story, I found Stella a little irritating and incredibly selfish at times but it was also those qualities which were the funniest moments. Stella changed as the story went on, and the spoilt, somewhat selfish person changed into a caring and vulnerable girl. It was lovely to read about her love story. This book was a really heartfelt story and was great to read.
