I'm sorry to say I didn't know about Terry until I read this board book. Amazing series for children. The illustrations and descriptions are always on point. Very uplifting.
In this entry in the long running series, young readers learn about Terry Fox, a famous Canadian. This is a story that shows how a life can be redefined and much can be achieved, even after a difficult setback. Terry was not expecting the turn that his life took but he (literally) ran with it. This is an inspiring entry in the series.
The author does a good job of explaining what cancer is, albeit briefly. She does this without making the story too scary. Ms. Sanchez Vegara also acknowledges Terry’s death so be ready to discuss this. She goes on to note the impact that Terry has had as others now run for his cause.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for this title. All opinions are my own.
This is another brilliant addition to this series – even as an adult I look out for the next book in the series being released and this one was a brilliant and inspiration read
I love the images in this series and this is a brilliant introduction to Terry Fox. I live in the UK and he passed away before I was born so I hadn’t heard of him but after reading the book as an adult I went online to read more about this fascinating man, and that is why I love this series!
This series is an excellent introduction to some of the well-known, and less well-known characters that have had a great impact on the lives of others
It is 5 stars from me for this one – one I will be very highly recommending!
