This is such a twisted psychological read. It had me hooked from the start. Bella had been stalked and kidnapped while she was at university. She had been kept in the family cellar for 5 days. With her stalker now out of prison she's forever haunted that he will come back.

The story moves from the past to the future as Bella starts to lose her grip on reality and living in constant fear. You felt as living the fear with her too.The ending was unexpected and left me feeling shocked. Brilliant read and I'm looking forward to reading more by this author.

A tense, gripping and pacy thriller of a book that will get its claws into you and not let go until you’ve turned the last page. Some great twists and turns to keep you guessing. This is a new author for me and I look forward to reading more of her work. Thank you to NetGalley, HQ and the author for the chance to review.

A bit tricky to get into for me.
Once i did i found the characters were written well and a decent twist towards the end.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.
On the whole a decent read i just felt it was not my thing.

On the whole I enjoyed this book, took me longer than usual to get into the storyline and some of the characters I didn't get on with.

It was well written but for me personally it didn't keep me on the edge of my seat.

Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Digital for this ARC.

There were parts of this book that I really enjoyed, and some that I didn’t. It was very well written, easy to read, and the drama kept me in suspense and desperate to reach the conclusion. It got off to an exciting start, and the big twist towards the end was an unexpected shock. The plot was just too unrealistic and unbelievable for me though. Also, I found it difficult to connect with Bella at times, and one of the characters (no spoilers) would definitely have been sent to prison! Another aspect that began to annoy me was the constant references to the past (‘she thought about …’, ‘he remembers the last time …’, ‘she remembers once …’, etc) where we seemed to go off at a bit of a tangent with the next few pages just being unnecessary padding and not really contributing much to the story. It was a decent read, and I would like to read more from this author in the future. If you enjoy books that focus on family drama you will really enjoy this book.
