The Soho Killer is the sixth book in Biba Pearce's series focusing on Detective Rob Miller. Rob is called into investigate when a body is found in Soho Square, dressed in clothing and with paraphernalia that suggest it might have been a sex game gone wrong. However, not everything is as it seems when a second victim is found in a similar state, Rob realises they might be dealing with a serial killer.

I've been hankering after a good mystery for awhile and this certainly delivered. This was an engrossing, addictive read that I sped through in order to find out what was going on as the book ran from one twist to another. There were times when I queried whether I found Rob and his world "authentic" but I was too busy being caught up in the mystery to really care.

However, I was somewhat at a disadvantage with this since it was my first time reading the series and i>The Soho Killer is the sixth book in the series (which I didn't realise when I requested the book off Netgalley). Pearce refers back to events in previous books and references an ongoing storyline (or so I assume) which simply went over my head and were a little frustrating when I was so focused in on the main plot of the book. This, obviously, is a problem with my starting the series with Book Six, rather than the book itself and I enjoyed this so much that I'll most likely read the whole series.

I found the story fast paced and it was great to see well loved characters again but I didn't think the twist was believable and it ruined the story for me.

My thanks to the Author publisher's and NetGalley for providing me with a Kindle version of this book to read and honestly review.
This is the sixth book in this series and the first i have read, whilst there were references to previous stories it in no way spoilt my enjoyment of this excellent book. A quality Police procedural well written with superb characters throughout. Clever descriptive intelligent with plenty of surprises along the way, I certainly was flummoxed by whodunit.
Completely recommended.

Thank you to the author and @netgalley for an E-ARC copy of this book.

This is the sixth book of the Detective Rob Miller series. Although it’s part of a series it reads well as a stand alone as well.

I love a good British detective novel. This one really hooks you from the start when a body is discovered in Soho square wearing leather BDSM garb. Soon more bodies turn up in the same fashion and it’s up to Rob and his team to track down the killer.

The only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was when the killer was finally revealed it seemed a bit anti-climatic.

QOTD: What was the last detective or mystery novel you read?

Detective Rob Miller has got another complex and hard-hitting case to solve in The Soho Killer.

Rob is in the West End when he is informed that a body has been found in Soho Square. The victim’s back was lacerated with whip marks, his face was covered by a leather mask and a ball-gag was found in his mouth. The cause of death appears to be strangulation, but was this a tragic accident? Or cold-blooded murder? The finger of suspicion is pointing squarely at Rob’s partner, Ralph Keaton. Although Ralph maintains that he is innocent and Rob’s gut is telling him that his partner had nothing whatsoever to do with this murder, the pressure is piling up by the higher-ups leaving Rob with no other choice but to make an arrest.

With Ralph having lied about his alibi, Rob has to admit that it’s not looking too good for his partner and the case gets even more complicated when another body is found in a busy London square without any witnesses, bound and gagged in a similar manner. Rob needs to work hard and he needs to work fast in order to prove his partner’s innocence, but with a baby to look after and his boss on his tail demanding results, this investigation looks set to be Rob’s most challenging yet.

And then the killer makes it personal and with everything on the line, Rob finds himself forced to make an impossible decision that could put this entire investigation – and his life – in jeopardy.

Biba Pearce knows how to write a pulse-pounding chiller that keeps readers guessing until the very end and she has excelled herself with The Soho Killer. Full of menace, tension and jeopardy, The Soho Killer is a fast-paced, high-octane and exquisitely tense thriller readers simply won’t be able to put down.

Crime fiction readers looking for a book that will keep them up all night need look no further than Biba Pearce’s The Soho Killer.

Biba Pearce is such a talented author! I simply loved this police procedural book.
This is book 6 of the Detective Rob Miller series and I am now compelled to start this series from the start!
That's because the author has created this really likable main detective character who can both solve a hard crime but also be a loving husband and father and I like those book where there is hope and happiness in the middle of gruesome crime stories. This is life and I like to think our detectives out there can also have a happy personal life. This certainly makes for a more pleasant experience reading the books.
Yes the murders and gruesome which sadly is probably realistic but this gets softened with great likable main characters (and their dogs).
Really enjoyed this book, moving onto reading the whole series and I very much look forward to them!!!

A fascinating police procedural story. Rob Miller's character develops with each book. It was rather gruesome at times and the ending was a complete surprise. I couldn't put it down and would thoroughly recommend.
Thank you Netgalley and Joffre Books for the opportunity to give my unbiased review.

DCI Rob Miller is on the search for a killer, not just any killer but it's soon evident it's a much bigger case than first known. His hands are being tired from doing his job by his superior who seems to want him in the office directing his people not being hands-on. Rob is having to get hands-on as the number of bodies starts to increase.
DCI Rob Miller is a new father and devoted husband and still gives 100% to his job.
A good story with a lot of twists and a final horrific event that surprises them all.
It's not an edge-of-your-seat story but keeps your interest as you try to figure out who the killer is. The story moves along at a good pace and I liked all the main characters. Thank you NetGalley and publishers Joffe Books for this eARC this is my honest review - I probably would not spend money on the book but I don't regret reading it and find that the story sticks with you after.

This is the first DCI Rob Miller story and I would look to read others.

I picked this series up on book four and have been a big fan since. I just love the down to earth nature of the main character of Rob the author has done an amazing job at developing him and bringing him to life on the pages.

The Soho killer is book six in the Detective Rob Miller series and just with the other two books I have read in the this was a cracking read.

A brutal engaging fast paced thriller that builds on tension throughout until it reaches its final reveal.

A well deserved five stars from me.

First publication I've read by this author but won't be the last.
Appears to be part of a series involving the main character.
Not sure that I missed out on any part of the story by not having read any of the previous ones
Good police investigative story into a serious of murders starting with a male found in central London,.with a ball gag in his mouth. The finger points to the deceased man's partner but when a second body turns up with a similar crime scene, the realisation dawns that a twisted serial killer is on the loose.
Suitably enjoyed this book and will go back and read others from the series.

Thank you Netgalley and the Publisher for this ARC. This was my first Bob book in a series of 6, but could be read as a standalone as I was not lost or confused on any happenings. This is one of the best thrillers I have read this year. Constant page turning, or kindle tapping to turn the page in my case, that I could not put it down until I got to the end and found out what happened. The story seemed to conclude so I’m guessing these series are one mystery per book so I’d love to try out another one
