I'm not a huge fan of multi-POV adventure novels because it feels like there's a lot going on without leaving the room to explore the different plot points and character arcs in-depth, but this was an exception! C. W. James crafts an intriguing tale of three brothers with expert writing, managing to explore each brother deeply so the reader connects to them and hangs off the edge of their seat to see what happens next to the characters. The dialogue flowed naturally, the adventure scenes were intense but not overwhelming, and the familial ties are heartwarming.

Brothers Three follows Allen, Paul, and Chet Winthrup who are set line to inherit their family's ranch once they come of age. Their uncle Barnaby, and current guardian, headed out of town for business leaving the brothers to themselves. One morning, their ranch is hit by horse thieves which is just the catalyst that leads the three of them on several adventures all caused by a folks scheming to take over their land. The brothers must survive through every torturous thing come their way to save their ranch. A fun and atmospheric book filled with action that puts the reader right into the American Old West.

At first, I questioned why the brothers each had their own individual quests at the beginning of the book. How could they all three get into trouble one right after the other? It felt formulaic, but I am glad to say it eventually paid off.. That said, it was a slow start even with the action. To have each character go through a big event that gets solved quickly was too repetitive. Despite this hindrance, once I read past the 40% mark, I could not put it down. The stakes were always high and I was curious to see the brothers' fates.

This was a western centering around three brothers, so I was not at all surprised to see only one female character who was just in one chapter. Her, and other characters, never really got a solid ending. I wish we had tied up those lose ends a bit. I would have been much happier with a more drawn out finale.

That all being said, this was a fast-paced, action-heavy story full of headstrong boys hoping to save their ranch.

Brothers Three is a adventure novel about three teenage brothers struggling to keep their ranch as a nefarious neighbor tries to steal it from them. This has the feel of a classic western novel. It has a lot of action so it will keep readers hooked the whole time. The book switches between all three brothers' perspective and each brother has a distinct personality. A great option for reluctant readers!

When Brothers Allen Paul and Chet we’re waiting for their uncle Barnaby to come back from staking his goal claim in California Alan started worrying when he didn’t get a letter nor here of anyone seeing his uncle leave town but that’s not the only problem Captain Grady the next-door neighbor wants uncle’s land. so even when Allen leaves and hooks up with Ike Watson who helps him search for his uncle Barnaby, but Chet and Paul will become involved in a battle for their life and their Uncle’s land. Can they find uncle Barnaby and save his land and his gold? I know this isn’t the best summary but this was such a good book. If you love westerns you’ll love Brothers three I could read any kind of western and do but when you run across a good one you know it’s A good day. Good western riders are few and far between but CW James can be counted among the best. I loved this book and can’t wait to read more by this author. I receive this book from NetGalleyShelf and publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate most of my review.gg
