I absolutely loved this book, it was so descriptive of Paris and the life everyone lives over there.
Being a similar age to Juliet I really resonated with how she feels, marriage ends, not so young anymore. I wanted to live her 30 days and often dreamed of doing similar.
The actual storyline of Juliet going to Paris at 20 as an au pair snd the heartache that follows, I couldn’t read quick enough to follow her journey back 30years later.
This was a really enjoyable book by Veronica Henry. We follow our main character Juliet fresh out of an amicable divorce as she spends thirty days in Paris hoping to ‘find herself’ and spend time writing her own book. The book flicks between the present day and to Juliet in her 20s when she first came to Paris to work as an au pair as we learn about the events that led to her leaving Paris suddenly. It’s a perfect escapist read. It is beautifully written with excellent descriptions of Paris which immerse you in the story and make you feel as if you are experiencing it all along with the characters. It is a beautiful story about second chances and finding happiness.
Thank you for an advanced copy in return for an honest review.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review. Another lovely book by Veronica. I enjoyed my virtual visit to Paris, and found myself caught up in the life of Juliet - who is on a voyage of discovery. Happy to recommend.
Veronica Henry does it again. Another really lovely and highly enjoyable romantic story by best selling author. If you haven't read any by Veronica I highly recommend it and what better book to start with.
I always look forward to a Veronica Henry book for a bit of escapism. This book however took my expectations to a new level. I absolutely loved it. Veronica’s writing has definitely gone up a notch from the usual light female fiction. This book was full of heart and I highly recommend it.
There are some authors who always deliver, and Veronica Henry is one of them. I enjoyed this book very much. It’s easy to read, with delightful descriptions of beautiful Paris that made me want to book a EuroStar.
Thanks to NetGalley for an erc in return for an honest review.
Yet gain Veronica Henry does not let you down .... a great curl up on the sofa read!
Juliet and Stuart are gouging through an amicable separation, after over 20 years of marriage .... their home has been sold and Stuart has bought a modern apartment .
Juliet has decided to spend 30 days in Paris, where when she was 20 she escaped her bland Worcester life to be an au pair.
While in Paris,Juliet is determined to start writing a book, reminiscing on the good and bad of her life as an au pair.
Juliet meets up with her best friend from her initial visit Natalie and also her ex lover Olivier .
A great read .... very enjoyable
A lovely story. Old love rekindled .Took a little while to get in to. I was desperate to work out why the main character left Paris the first time. I loved the Paris description and the yummy food . Lots of characters, nice and selfish ones. Post natal depression has a lot to answer for.Juliet was a good interesting main character . Brave with her old marriage and moving to Paris. Read it.
A strong and atmospheric five-star read. I have enjoyed this author previously and this one had the added beauty of Paris mixed in and it just sucked me in and swept me up. The fact that the story takes place over thirty years just swept me up and took me on the journey. Juliette is just such a strong character, and she will take you along with her and keep you on your toes. Do not miss this amazing story.
Beyond beyond beyond excited to read/acquire/promote this book. I’ve always had an obsession with Paris since my school days and with Emily In Paris being my entire personality this is definitely the book for me. Will be sharing a full review and in-depth thoughts p, but just wanted to share how excited I am to drive into Juliet’s world and watch her get her life back and rediscover her magic. Also dying to know her secret as well.
Because Paris is always a good idea...
Years ago, Juliet left a little piece of her heart in Paris - and now, separated from her husband and with her children flying the nest, it's time to get it back!
So she puts on her best red lipstick, books a cosy attic apartment near Notre-Dame and takes the next train out of London.
Arriving at the Gare du Nord, the memories come flooding back: bustling street cafés, cheap wine in candlelit bars and a handsome boy with glittering eyes.
But Juliet has also been keeping a secret for over two decades - and she begins to realise it's impossible to move forwards without first looking back.
Something tells her that the next thirty days might just change everything...
Another exciting read from this author, I loved Juliet's tale.
How beautiful this story was, I have never been to Paris but now really made me want to add it to the top of my destination list.
Thirty days in Paris. Paris is always a good character to have in a book. This story is like a comin of age, only that it's of a woman at 50 starting anew after divorce and coming to terms with her past and everything she had left unresolved.
I loved the Parisian touches which provides the glamour and lightness, however despite it all, the story got a bit boring at places.
Wow what can I say? The most exquisite love story set in the most romantic place on earth Paris!
Spanning over 30 years we follow Juliet as she revisits the Paris of her youth where she left her heart many years ago! Now amicably separated from her husband Juliet goes back to Paris to find herself, revisit the past and make amends!
During her visit she revisits the places of her youth, looks up old friends, makes new friends and writes her story, exploring the cities sights, restaurants and wonderful cuisines but more importantly rekindling her relationship with her one true love.
A real feel good read, empowering the middle aged woman demonstrating that it’s never too late to find/ rekindle love and to live a different life.
Perfect escapism.
Thank you netgalley for this early read.
Always loved this author and this one adds to the collection! Enjoyed the visits to Paris from the past and the present!
I received a free copy of, Thirty Days in Paris, by Veronica Henry, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Juliet is starting a new chapter in her life, and decides to spend time in Paris. This book goes back and forth, from when Juliet visited Paris when she was younger to present day, visiting Paris. An enjoyable read, from a good author.
I love Veronica Henry, this novel is about rediscovering yourself in the city of love, and untangling in both the past and present. A wonderful story of redemption and rebirth a real love letter to Paris
A quik, easy and cute read with a fantastic setting, fantastic storyline and characters that I loved. I would higly recommend
A perfect romantic read set amongst the gorgeous backdrop of Paris.
Years ago Juliet left a piece of her heart in Paris. She’s now separated from her husband and returns there to spend thirty days renting a small apartment and aiming to reclaim that piece of her heart. I found this book to be warm and engaging and I loved Juliet’s character. It goes between past and present and that adds to the overall story. Well written and a book you can easily lose yourself in. Thank you to NetGalley, Orion Publishing Group and the author for the chance to review.
A beautiful, romantic story set in the city of Love. It made me want to move to Paris for 30 days myself! A great read.
