I know I read them in the incorrect order but this was really disappointing after reading Queens Descent.
I found this to be very slow and the characters poorly developed.
Whether this was due to it being a shorter story I don't know.
This was not for me.
This is a tale of an assassin who believes himself to be the maker of his own fate only to discover that he has been a puppet. But learning who has been pulling the strings is a mystery. The ending was abrupt and not the direction I had hoped it would turn. I am curious to see how the next part of the story will unfold.
My thanks to the Author publisher's and NetGalley for providing me with a Kindle version of this book to read and honestly review.
Well written atmospheric clever descriptive character driven story, with our hero assassin looking to avenge his family. An assassin who cannot stand the sight or smell of blood is a first for me. Entertaining page turner.

Packed full of action and adventure. I was grabbed from the start. I loved the flow and the characters. As this is the first time I have read anything by this author, I will be looking out for more.
An enjoyable adventure from an author who is new to me. I found this book entertaining, and the pages went by quickly. A delightful read for those who enjoy adventure and science fiction.
The Southern kingdom rules the Northern people. Northerners have been rebelling against the Emperor, causing great bloodshed for their people. In Assasin's Paradox: Breaking of Godslost Series by James Hockley, we follow a survivor of such extermination. His name is Alidinia. He has lived in exile as an assassin known as Red.
Assasin's Paradox is a mystery book about mystery. My favorite thing about the book is the turning of events. Alidinia has lived a life of illusion. His enemies are watching his moves and calculating how to exterminate him. Deep in the north, lies the danger. The Lost Monks are controlling bloodlines so that they can get the magic for themselves.
I loved the character of Alidinia and the schemes of his antagonists.
I found nothing negative about the book.
My rating is 5 out of 5 stars. It is a fast-paced story that is entertaining. It is thrilling, with adventures, and discovery in a fresh plot. The language used is clear, with borderline cussing.
I recommend Assasin's Paradox: Breaking of Godslost Series by James Hockley to readers who enjoy stories with good plots and mystery. If you love cunning characters who are in danger, this is your book.
