Six friends, one sniper and a handful of secrets that, once shared, could result in either life or death.

I loved A Good Girls Guide to Murder so couldn’t wait to read/listen this new novel by Holly Jackson, and it didn’t disappoint.

The fact at least 90% of this novel took place in an RV is incredible. You really felt like you were there with them thanks to the tension continued to increase throughout the novel.

It contained everything needed for a great YA thriller. You have a broken down vehicle in the middle of nowhere, hidden secrets, explosive twists and the inability to trust anyone.

Thanks NetGalley and HarperCollins Audio UK for an ARC of the audio version of this book.

I was looking forward to this and expected similar vibes to Karen McManus, but this didn’t quite do it for me. There were a lot of threads left hanging. Having said that, the audiobook narrator was excellent, and I’ll seek out this narrator in future!

My first Holly Jackson and I totally get the hype now! Such a great twisty, edge of your seat little thriller 🙌

Think locked room mystery except it’s an RV instead, in the middle of nowhere with a gunman outside who seems to know everything going on in there…

I found this a really well paced and unexpected thriller - every time I thought I had the hang of things, another plot twist came and surprised me! I love the way that everyone in the RV seems like a possible “suspect” because of course, what 17-21 year olds don’t have secrets? But what I enjoyed most was the atmosphere created inside the RV, which was almost as tense as the gunman outside as they all start to distrust and blame each other. And whilst Red was our narrator, we had no idea how reliable she was so I really was clueless pretty much throughout the book until that brilliant reveal at the end.

If you’re looking for an atmospheric, shocking and addictive YA thriller then look no further - whilst there are a few moments of teenage self-indulgence which I kind of skimmed, overall this was a really exciting read and I’d definitely pick up more by the author!
