This was a perfect read to curl up with on a rainy Sunday in November. I've enjoyed the previous novels I've read by the author and Promise Me did not disappoint.
All the ingredients for a perfect comfort read are here- a cosy setting in a small Cotswold town, a heroine to root for and many likeable (and some not so likeable!) local characters. A joy to read!
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this digital ARC.

This is a brilliantly uplifting read with some fantastic characters starting with Lou who first encounters Edgar at a shop whilst visiting her friend in his Cotswold village and finds herself wanted by him to be his carer to the extent that he eventually makes her a proposition which is impossible to decline. The dynamics between lonely and grumpy Edgar and Lou who is determined to bring some light into to his life are fantastic and Captain Oates is a wonderful addition to the story. Lou’s friend was a great characters and it was interesting to see how his own life altered in this and Della and her son Tom offered a great counterfoil to the other characters. The location sounded fabulous and the characters in this were all brilliant as you would expect, I loved how this all turned out in the end and the whole book was such a feel good read, 9/10

What can you say about Jill Mansell? She is one of the most reliable writers of chick lit around, solid heroines you can route for and flawed heroes who come true in the end. This is once again a 5star offering
