I love catching up with Finlay and her hilarious antics. It was refreshing having the majority of the book set in a police academy. This book isn’t as much a mystery as the previous two, and for some that might be disappointing. We get a little more development on Vero and her past, and got to meet some new characters along the way. This is another Finlay Donovan adventure that I’m sure fans of the books will love.
Finlay and Vero get involved in the most hilarious scenarios again. This time it's to an amateur police academy and I found the change of location very refreshing. It made for a nice new side plot. Otherwise, the book is exactly what I expected: more Vero, more Finlay, more over the top far fetched scenarios and rescues. That's not meant negatively at all, because that's exactly what I got and loved in the first two books. Finally the love story goes a bit further in this book and I hope that comes to a head in book 4. I think if you liked the first two books and don't mind that it continues in the same way, you'll enjoy the third book too - it's out on 31 January 2023.
Yass! Finlay is back!
Another great story with lovable characters, humour and so many WTF moments. I love this series!
Thanks so much to Headline for this ARC - since I read the first instalment of the FD adventures I've been looking forward to the follow up!
With both the second and the third I must say, I didn't love as much as the first, but I don't think that's ever going to happen again simply because the bigger element of surprise is gone. When I read the first book, I went in pretty blind not knowing the characters, not knowing what to expect, and I loved everything about it!
I'm giving this one 3 stars (which, in my books, is not bad!) because I didn't enjoy it as much as the other two. I can't quite put my finger on what was missing... maybe it wasn't as funny as the other two (although Vero is a riot!) and the plot not as surprising for a mystery. To be honest, the recurring theme in my mind as I read through was that I'd love to see these three books turning into a TV series!
Having said all this, not only did I stay up late to finish it, but I'll always be here for Finlay! I'll always recommend this series and I do hope there's more where it came from.
I loved the characters and the plot of the story, I will definitely be reading more from this author.
Finaly and Vero are continuing their adventure in this amazing third book of the series. I could not get more excited to have the opportunity to read this before getting released, so thank you NetGalley.
As the first two books, the third one was easily addictive to me and very easy to read. I have to be honest, I was hoping that the heroine will get more action again with Julian, but at least she’s not getting somewhere with Nick.
I also have to admit it was a bit extra for all the characters from the police academy, but they all been there for a reason I guess.
Anyway, I am still excited for the next book and see what’s going to happen in Atlantic City 😍
I won’t say a lot about the story to avoid spoilers but this is the least favourite in the series as it wasn’t as fresh and funny as the first two. It’s probably inevitable as the series keeps going. I feel like this series is just dragging a bit too long now and cannot believe this book isn’t the final!
Having said that, it is still fun to read. So 3 stars!
Finlay Donovan just can't catch a break. Everytime she thinks she might finally be in the clear, her past mistakes come creeping back to haunt her. Finlay and her Nanny/Accountant Vero are pushed by a mob-boss to enlist in a week long police academy for civilians, where as usual, things quickly spiral out of control.
This series is nail biting fun! My only gripe is that there are now so many strings in play that it often took a minute to remember which dead person/event each consequence was linked to, but even then I was able to forgive any confusion as the plot got better and better!
I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I read this really quickly, I love the writing style it is really engaging and I loved the storyline and characetrs who were all well developed. You should def check this out

I always have fun with this series. I've heard that this one doesn't quite fit the rest of the series, but to me the conflict makes sense as a continuing story. You know what you're going to get - And what you're going to get is a fun little mystery with a bit of romance.
This has the same things it always has - Fin and Vero get into some chaotic situations, then it gets even worse when they try and fix those situations. But it's fun. It's silly. Sometimes you need that kind of thing.
I liked that we actually seemed to make some progress in the romance department, though it's still a slow burn. Cosimano does a lot of meta in this book, explaining her narrative choices through Finlay talking about her book ("people want more of the hot cop!" etc) and yes we do. I totally respect the author's decisions but also. I want more of the hot cop. I'm only human.
I'm still invested in the series and where it's going to go, though now I'm going to have to wait like 2 years for the next book.
I loved the third book in this series.
The writing style is great and as always I really enjoyed the characters. It is so much fun to read Cosimanos books :-)
This book was so much fun to read. It was the first in the series that i have read so im really looking forward to reading the first two! A feel good, funny and page turner of a book.
I absolutely devoured this book, I couldn’t put it down! The Finlay Donovan Series is by far one of my favourite series EVER, I always have such a fun time reading the books and I’m always looking forward to reading the next book in this amazing series.
This is a great edition to the series. It is hard to review the third in the series without ruining the previous books. If you liked the others you’ll like this one.
