Thank you to @netgalley and the publisher for this free eARC.
This is a really good manual if you are considering storing and preserving food.
Everything is well explained and everyone can follow the instructions.
A book about food preservation that explains about how to master canning, dehydrating and freezing with 99 tips. This book talks about harvesting, storage, time management, preparation, canning, freezing, dehydration, and picking. There are no photos, it’s all text with a lot of tips. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review
Although I wouldn’t consider myself a prepper, I am an avid gardener and do like to can and store what I grow. Food Preservation for Preppers is written and a friendly, conversational style and gives you lots of things to think about when approaching how to store your food. I wouldn’t necessarily describe it as a how-to book, but rather a guide. It gives you an overview of what you will need to do and know to preserve your harvest, but doesn’t give you a ton of answers. There are no canning recipes, rather guidance to use safe and tested recipes and websites. There are also no photos, which would have been immensely helpful with regards to sections on storing food. The book is an enjoyable read, but could have benefited from a bit more editing as it does tend to repeat information.
This book is completely packed with useful information. I wouldn't necessarily consider myself a "prepper" in the way I've seen that term portrayed on TV and social media, but I do enjoy growing and preserving my own food both for emergency preparedness and simply for managing our family budget.
Whether you are a full out prepper, prepper lite, a gardener trying to preserve their harvest or simply someone looking to reduce their food waste through preservation, this book will help.
I fully plan to buy multiple copies of this book for myself, my family and my community garden.
This book gave me so many great tips on how to preserve extra goods I have to make them last longer. I definitely want to try freeze-drying things now. As someone who usually always end up with extra fruits and veggies at the end of my week that I'm always trying to fit into random Recipes to use before they go bad, this is a great help!
Thank you netgalley and publisher for this arc
This book is very informative and a great guide to preserving food in several different ways. This book is great for beginners, and still informative to those who already have some experience in food preservation. All in all this is a good book to have especially in times like these when food should be preserved, as there is no knowing what will happen in the future.
An excellent resource for the preservation and storage of food. I was a little disappointed not to find a lot of information on freezing foods, but on the whole a book for anyone who values their food and getting the most for their money.
Food Preservation for Preppers is such an information packed book. It has everything you need to know about preserving food. What to preserve and how
The title of this book should be FOOD PRESERVATION FOR EVERYONE. The cost of food these days has turned us all in preppers. I read an article that said people who raise their own food and preserve it are actually Food Rebels. I guess I'm a food rebel. This book has so much information for those of us unwilling to waste our time or money by paying so very much more for the everyday food items we need. CB Revell has definitely done the research and the hands on application of growing, preserving and storing food. The book has given me so many more ideas and provided information I didn't even know I needed. I can not say enough about how much every kitchen needs this book.

This book includes a lot of information when considering what food to preserve and how. It offers tips on choosing your food, how to make sure it's preserved safely, storage, and labeling. The book touches on preservation techniques like pickling, fermenting, drying, canning, and freezing. This isn't quite a how to guide because it's essentially an organized list of high level tips, but it's also not a recipe book since it doesn't include recipes for pickling or freezing. I found some of the instructions confusing so I could see beginners being confused by some of them as well.
A package filled with information regarding pretty much everything concerning food preservation for smart daily use. This is a good book for people who are interested in preserving food in different ways, but might not yet be a wizard in this field. The books tells us what you can preserve, and what you should not preserve. It also gives the reader the best ways of preserving for example tomatoes and berries. Whether your thing is canning, freezing, drying or any other kind of food preservation you will probably get some good tips and ideas from the book, even if you are not a beginner.
This is packed full of information! I will be investing in a physical copy of this book when it’s out as it is something new and my husband are going to do and this book is really useful and informative. The only complaint I have is the lack of pictures. I’ma very visual person so photos of techniques etc would have made this book perfect!
Although not so much of a prepper , I hate good waste food especially when it is going up in price so quickly. This book covers all aspects of food preservation and explains their used thoroughly. A very useful book.
Food Preservation for Preppers: How to Master Canning, Dehydrating & Freezing with 99 Simple Tips to Prep for the Future is a detailed reference and instruction book for anyone looking to efficiently store and preserve food. It is especially relevant in these times of increasing costs and possible shortages, Different methods are tackled from planning your garden, efficient and safe food storage, the art of canning, freezing and organising your freezer, freeze-drying, and dehydrating. I was particularly interested in dehydrating as I have recently tried an electric one for windfall fruit, and the information has been very useful. Overall a very good, no nonsense, easy to read book.
I have failed multiple times in making gherkin pickles, so this book gave me a very good idea about where I was going wrong.
This book is a good deal of information varying from the history of food preservation to preparation and storage of the food.
Definitely recommend it for the beginners!
Thank you Netgalley and publisher for the arc of Food Preservation for Preppers.
An excellent guide to all aspects of food preservation that the author knows, and the author is a master gardener as well, so I take it that this is a comprehensive guide with lots of time saving tricks. I had not heard of some of the methods of preserving food, for instance brine and salt, apparently if you just rub salt on meat it doesn't have the preservation properties of immersing the meat in brine. And this is just one example of what I learned. Another example is freeze dried foods. I looked them up and found quite a collection of these foods, I had been ignorant of before. These are just two examples when I have several bits of useful new information from this book. It is the best book I have read concerning this topic, but my experience is limited. Nonetheless I found it very handy to know all the things that the book told me.
I haven’t read a book like this before and yet interestingly enough I was hooked on what I was reading. I really enjoyed this!!
