Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this eARC of 'Sorry, Bro' by Taleen Voskuni.
This story is a case of it's not you, it's me. 'Sorry, Bro' by Taleen Voskuni was my upcoming anticipated read of 2023 so when I recieved the arc, I was excited. But sadly, it wasn't for me. I can't explain why and I don't understand why I didn't love it so much, but I just didn't. I'm gutted but it happens. However, I do recommend people try this book because it is a stunner.
This was a slow start for me and there was a lot of explanations needed for certain words or phrases, but once it got going it was really sweet. I was fully invested in Nar and Erebuni (although I have to say miscommunication is my LEAST favourite trope) and I really enjoyed seeing how their relationship developed. A lot of likeable characters and the writing moved the plot along well.
I personally prefer romance with a lot less politics but I also think that books like this are important.
I picked this mainly because of the title but actually after reading it I’m not sure the title makes sense for this story! It’s so much more than what the title suggests.
I knew very little about Armenian culture before reading this and now I know a little. More books like this are definitely needed! I’m here for it. Would recommend giving it a read.
This was a fantastic closed door romance. It focused on family, identity and finding yourself. There are mentions of death of a loved one and genocide. This one was heartwarming. However I did want more from it and felt that it could have shown more of the relationship between the two main characters.
When I saw this describes as a bisexual My Big Fat Greek Wedding I knew I had to read it and I loved every second of it. My Big Fat Greek Wedding will always have a special place in my heart and now this book is right u there too. It was well written with an engaging narrative, a compelling storyline, well developed characters and adorable moments. I loved Nar and Erebuni I just wanted to jump right into the pages with them.
Funny and uplifting this is a great read
