Another great story, this one features a young man with a troubled past who finds work at a pre-school established for the children of a psychiatric hospital. While he wants to get in touch with a patient he believes is in the hospital, he also has a past which involves a young child at a pre-school. All this is made very clear in the first few pages of this novel, and we know right from the start that Jan has ulterior motives for his apparent actions in moving to this new area and this new job. But what Jan doesn’t know is that others in the town and in the pre-school and in the psychiatric hospital also have their own ulterior motives and their own ambitions.
The story moves between Jan’s past and his present, and we see the story unfold as Jan does. It has plenty of action, plenty of psychological drama and people’s pasts coming back to haunt them. Great stuff.
