Emily Henry always manages to write beautiful books that never feel repetitive. She is truly unmatched.
Unfortunately I had to DNF my first Emily Henry. This was just not for me :(
I was really looking forward to it but after 100 pages I realized this is not what I enjoy.
I do understand others absolutely love it. So nothing bad about it, just no feels for me.
"𝙞𝙣 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙚, 𝙞𝙩'𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙚."
this book truly is for the girlies that get it and I GET IT!
this books is engrained so deep in my soul and it's not leaving. I loved it.
It's not just a romance it's a story about friends, family and the difficulties people find in change.
Harriet is a character so personal to me with what she was going through and I cried multiple times. There's just something about the way Emily writes her characters that they just hit.
You can claim this is all just miscommunication and I get that but really not everyone can open up so freely and hit things head on. Harriet is a people pleaser just like me and it's easier to just ignore than face it.
Harriet and Wyn together are perfect and what I love in Emily Henry books is that neither character force anyone to make a decision the choices are made on their own.
I'm totally into all of Emily Henry's books, and this one is no different. I was totally cheering for Wyn and Harriet, and this book seriously hit me in the feels. It perfectly captures the beautiful, long-term kind of love.
Honestly it’s the highlight of my book year when Emily Henry publish a new book.
Emily Henry does it once again. Perfect! The tensions between the pair, whilst she reveals their past through flashbacks keep you hanging on the whole book!
This is one of the best books I've read this year. I think I read this in a phase of my life where everything was relatable. The characters are so well written, very fleshed out, and their experiences can't get any more real life-ish. This is Emily Henry's best yet.
This book was perfect from the first chapter to the last.
The characters, the scenario and the found family >>>>>
I just want to read more and more emily henry books because there's no way she can do anything wrong.
I am obsessed with this book. Fake dating is probably my absolute favorite trope and Emily Henry is the queen of fake dating. This book is a 5 star read for me and if you haven’t read this book already, go do it now!!
I only got sent the first 20 to 30 pages but so far it looks promising! Hopefully the whole book will be as good as her other books <3
Emily Henry did it again!
Every book she writes becomes more and more talented... facts
This might be my favourite Emily Henry book so far.
"Think of your Happy Place, Harriet"
After breaking up six months prior, Harriet and Wyn, having told none of their friends or family what had happened, are forced to pretend to still be engaged during their annual weeklong vacation with their best friends on the coast of Maine.
I loved this book with all my heart and I read it in half a day because I couldn't stop!
I think this book is very different from Emily Henry's other romance novels, it was less of a rom com, more melacholy, thoughtful, nostalgic and deep; and i think that’s why i loved it so much.
All the characters are beautiful, complex and I loved them all with all my heart!
The way Emily Henry explores complex and nuanced character dynamics in this book is amazing. Harriet and Wyn's relationship is so deeply explored and so well developed that it feels achingly real.
This book also has one of the best Fake Dating and Second Chance tropes I've ever read!
And I loved the setting too! I am a sucker for descriptions and settings and everything in this book was perfect! The cottage, the beach, the weather and the Maine breeze!
Thanks to Netgalley, Penguin UK and Emily Henry for providing me with this ARC! I owe you my whole life!!! Happy Place it's out everywhere on April 25th! Don't miss it!!
I was denied an ARC but the publisher kindly sent a preview. However, NetGalley counted it as an approved ARC and I'm not getting my feedback ratio because of it.
Can't wait to read this book!!
No... I have just read the extract of "Happy Place" by Emily Henry and I need more, I need to know where this goes. Why is Wyn there? Harriet focus .... your happy place remember. Placing my preorder NOW :) and am king it 5 starts based on my preview and immediate desire to place a preorder.
#HappyPlace #NetGalley
NetGalley provided a little snippet of this book. I really enjoyed reading it and it made me excited to read this book when it comes out!
I have had the opportunity to read the first chapters, not the whole book, so i can't say much.
But i say with no doubt that I can't wait to read all the story! I love Emily Henry and everything she writes is amazing for me.
So, to be honest, I wasn't a big fan of Beach read (controversial I know). However, I feel like this book brought a fresh and fun take on the forced proximity, enemies to lovers trope. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and devoured it in a little over a day.
4/5 Stars from me
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC
So looking forward to getting my hands on a paper copy of this one. Emily Henry‘s writing keeps getting better and better…
Thanks NetGalley for the preview.
Well… wow. I read 2 chapter. Two! And now I honestly don’t know how I’m going to survive the next [at least] 47 days until I can read the rest of this book because the 17 pages I read were probably the best first pages of a book that I’ve read in while.
I was honestly surprised by the names of the chapter in a VERY good way. If the rest of the book goes on with the now and then chapters by calling them “real life” and “happy place” respectively it will get a couple of extra points from me – I loved it, and combined with the ‘think of your happy place/go to your happy place’ quotes, it was a very good way to explain us the title of the book (although it is pretty much self-explanatory).
I haven’t read reviews about this book because I hate spoilers (however small) so I really don’t know what to expect from it, but I kind of wish that this book would be a dual POV one. And this is coming from someone whose all time favorite book is People We Meet on Vacation – I would love to be able to read Alex’s POV as well. I am expecting Happy Place to be as good as PWMOV since the tropes are pretty much the same (and also my favorite), which means I am seriously going to be devastated if it isn’t. Despite my love for PWMOV I didn’t really like Henry’s last book, so I NEED this one to be good.
I am very, very, very excited to read this and my hopes are extremely high after reading the first 2 chapter. I have a feeling that I am going to love Harriet and Wyn, but that I’m going to love Harriet’s relationship with her two besties even more. I seriously cannot wait to read this, so I am going to pretend that there isn’t still more than one month to its release date.
Although I only had the opportunity to read an extract of Happy Place by Emily Henry provided by Penguin General UK, those few pages made me incredibly intrigued for the full story, and I can't wait to read it in its entirety when the book is released in April.
I got a first excerpt of the book from NetGalley (thank you!) so this is only going to be based on those first pages :)
Harriet and Wyn's story seems interesting and misterious and I'm sure we're going to fall in love with them as they do so with each other again. I loved the character's introduction, that rare group of friends and how Henry portrays in just a few pages the amount of love that there's between all of them, and in a beautiful way, too.
I can't wait to read how both relationships, the friendship between the three women and the romantic one between Harriet and Wyn, evolve.
Counting down the days for the book to be released like a kid waiting for Christmas.
I only got a sneak peak, and although it felt a bit fast, the writing is exactly what you'd need from Emily Henry. I'm excited to meet the cast, whose interactions had me already smitten.
