Another great psychological thriller from Kathryn Croft, an author who just keeps getting better (no mean feat given that even that even the earliest of her books was epic!)

In this book, protagonist, Jess, is approached on the street with the man who allegedly murdered her mother twenty plus years earlier. Shocked and traumatised by this encounter, she seeks solace in the arms of her family, Dad, step-mum and half-sister, Zara. She is frustrated that they seem less affronted and keen to report this incident to the police than she is. Desperate for answers into the demise of her mother she has a shift in thinking and arrange to meet the suspected murderer again. As Jess begins to believe this man as he protests his innocence, she start to wonder who she can trust....

As is common these days, there are 2 distinct time lines, one the present day narrative of Jess, and an earlier timeline narrated by Jess mum, Lori, when Jess was 2 years old.

A great plot and superbly written. This is a novel I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

I always know when i am really into a book when i get so angry with some of the characters. For instance Lori's mother and sister what a pair they are! ( I am not giving anything away.) So this is all down to brilliant writing, Kathryn Croft you have done it again.
So many twists in this book everyone at some stage has become the suspect.

This book will keep you guessing right upto the end. Jess's mother was murdered when she was 2 whilst being taking for a stroll in the park in her pram. A man was convicted and jailed for her death but when this man who is now free seeks Jess out and claims he is innocent what is she to believe. She was raised by her doting dad and stepmum and was happy. She soon begins to question her childhood and her dads involvement with what happened to her mother.
The ending was so unexpected whixh I really liked. A great read from start to finish.

I loved the twists and turns and had absolutely no clue who was behind it all but overall I did struggle with the book a bit it just didn't capture jy attention and felt like the author tried too hard to make everyone seem shady so you'd be kept guessing. For me it dragged on a bit and could have easily been summed up a lot quicker. In saying that, the kind of thriller/ mystery that does involve a small community of suspicious characters and where everyone has secrets is a genre which appeals to a pof of people and I never find kyself particularly taken by stories in this setting so it's no fault of the author, or issues with the characters, plot, pace or writing style etc. I personally do not love this format as kuch as I do some kf the others so I have no doubt that readers who do enjoy books set in this style will absolutely love this as it does feel well written and with a wide array if interesting characters

This book kept me guessing right until the very end and sat on the edge of my seat for most of it. A freally well written and enjoyable read.

This is my first book by Kathryn Croft so I was excited to dive right in when I got approved from NetGalley. I have now ready all this author book and this one is definitely one of my favourites. There is twists and turns which will keep you on the edge of your seat and wanting to race to the end to find out what happened.

Jess's mom was murdered about 30 years ago when Jess was 2 years old. She was raised by her dad and step mother but her mother's murder was never solved. When the one man who had been under the most suspicion for Lori's murder makes contact with Jess, she feels compelled to start investigating what really happened.

I love books where secrets of the past are uncovered, so I loved the premise of this one. There were enough people acting suspiciously that I really wasn't sure who was guilty and who was up to what. I really liked this as I have liked pretty much everything I have read from this author.

I gave this book a 3 .5 I enjoyed the story I think it was a little too long it probably didn't have to be as long as it was but it was interesting enough to where I kept ready. Thank you netgalley for giving me a copy I do appreciate it.

Kathryn Croft never disappoints. This book is no exception and I really enjoyed reading it. Lot's of twists and turns on the way. Looking forward to her next book.

This is my first book by this author. I usually don’t like books that go back and forth between characters but the author did a great job of using this to weave the story. It was a great read👏🏻

Jess was just a toddler when her mother, Lori was murdered. She was raised by her father and now has a photography business in London.

When Jess is confronted by Nathaniel, the main suspect in her mothers murder, she wants nothing to do with him. He wants to proclaim his innocence and get his life back and Jess decides to hear him out. Just when they are to meet, something horrible happens.

Jess begins to suspect that someone doesn’t want Nathaniel to talk to her. Family secrets start to unravel. Is her mothers killer someone she knows? Will she find the truth before she becomes a victim?

Love love loved it! This book has a palpable tension that keeps the pages turning…..simply brilliant… I had to finish this marvelous thriller in one sitting! Taut and incredibly suspenseful, every moment is perfectly crafted to keep me wanting more. An engrossing, spine-tingling read!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My Review:
OMG, loved!!!!! Thanksgiving literally flew right by me and I have no regrets. I only stopped to eat the ham dinner my husband made then I continued on. I couldn’t help myself. I couldn’t put this down for the life of me. I had to find out what was going to happen next otherwise I would have never gotten any sleep that night. This author is one of my favorites and so was this read. It had everything that I look for in a great book. The characters were all sneaky, the story line was interesting and it had a shocking ending I never saw coming. I couldn’t ask for a better book. Now let’s talk a little bit about this one. All the characters had something to hide even those that had good in them. I have to admit it was fun finding out all those secrets. Some of them were horrific and some were forgivable acts. Next up is the plot. It kept me intrigued the whole way through. What I loved the most though was it went from the past to present and switched character perspectives every other chapter. We got to see what was going on while an event was happening along with seeing everything through other peoples eyes. It was wonderful and then it came full circle to that heart attack of an ending. I couldn’t believe it. It did feel good though when all the secrets were let out and finally we got to see the full story unfold. This author did a fantastic job and I can’t wait to read more of her books.

In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Kathryn Croft is a new author for me. This was a very good book. So many lies, twists, and edge-of-seat moments, It was for me everyone was the suspect, except the real one. My jaw hit the floor . This is my first time with this author and I was very excited to get approved for this one. However, I could not get into it. I hoped to be sucked in and devour this one but it was not that way for me. Clearly, this is an experienced author but this book was a miss for me personally.

Are we sure Kathryn Croft wrote this book? Usually her books are AMAZING! Total suspense, shocking twists, and jaw dropping endings. This book had none of those characteristics. It was actually boring. Even skimming it, I couldn't wait for it to be over. If this would have been written by an author I didn't love, I never would have finished it. I mean the suspense was missing, the character development wasn't even that good. I am really disappointed in this one. The cover is great though.

Good book! This book had suspense, intrigue, action, murder, mystery and a great who done it! The storyline was very interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle! I will definitely recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

The blurb starts by drawing you in with promises of deep dark secrets and mystery to solve and it doesn't disappoint this is action packed with devilish characters and a secrets so buried it threatens to destroy everything. I am still reeling from this book.
this author has a way of bringing you into the world and bashes you around until you don't know which way is up i love a good mystery and this is a belter that i would recommend anyone.

start to finish.

This is a new author for me. The story was good such a twisty read. I really enjoyed it.
Would recommend this book to others such a great thrilling read
