I just finished Tattooed Sweetness by Katlyn S. Coen, and let me tell you, it's like a breath of fresh air in the romance genre!
First things first, the characters? They're absolutely lovable. Coen has created such vibrant, relatable characters that you can't help but root for them. And the chemistry between the main characters? Sparks fly left and right! It's the romance that keeps you flipping pages late into the night.
Now, let's talk about the setting. Coen's descriptions are so vivid that you'll feel in the quaint little town with the characters. It's the perfect backdrop for a heartwarming love story.
But what sets this book apart is the emotional depth. Coen doesn't shy away from tackling tough topics like loss and forgiveness, but she does so with grace and sensitivity that only adds to the richness of the story.
And can we talk about the romance? It's sweet, steamy, and everything you could want in a love story. Coen knows how to flutter your heart, from tender moments to passionate embraces.
Now, fair warning: this book isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Some moments of heartache and conflict will have you reaching for the tissues. Isn't that what makes a romance so satisfying?
Overall, 'Tattooed Sweetness' is a delightful read that'll leave you with a smile and warmth. So grab a copy, curl up with a cozy blanket, and get ready to fall in love!
This was a pretty good book. I think it could've used more character and world building but it was good for a quick and easy romance read.
Thank you for the ARC of this book.
This story was a good read, it didn't quite hit what I was hoping for but this is for no reason other than personal preference.
From the start, I was impressed by the so contrasting protagonists. From time to time, I had the feeling that you had to push them in the right direction first, but in the end they did it all by themselves. It was a real pleasure to accompany them on this journey.
This is a good book. The two main characters are Celine and Philipp. Celine works for a company that helps small businesses. Philipp is a tattoo shop owner, who is looking to expand his business. Celine helps him figure out his finances to expand his business. There is an instant attraction. They each have their issues but together they work them out and fall in love.
The blurb gave me everything that I normally love in a romance, and I don't know if it's the fact that it's translated and some things didn't translate well or if it was just too slow burn for me but I couldn't get into it. I've ended up DNF'ing it at 20% of the way through.
But the bits i have read do seem really well-written and the characters are well built.
Beautifully written, compelling and thought provoking, I was drawn by the cover and blurb, not one I would normally read but I’m glad I did, im recommending this.
So im not really a fan of third person writing so that threw me off a bit. But overall was a nice romance with underlying "lessons". The plot was super nice and well writen. The characters were soo amazing to follow actually. It was nice to see their development.
It's hard for me to fully review the writing, as it was translated from German. However, the translation feels lacking and some expressions didn't carry over.
There were a lot of miscellaneous scenes that didn't contribute to the overall plot. There were some questionable quotes about women as well, and the author's political bias was apparent.
I really struggled to get into this book. I did not finish it, but I hope that one day I can try again. The writing was pretty good, but I couldn’t get into the story line.
Thank you to Goodreads for sharing this free copy with me.
This checked off everything I look for in a book. Was not disappointed. Really enjoyed this book. I will read more from this author. Must read
I received a complimentary copy of Tattooed Sweetness in exchange for an honest review. This was an extremely slow burn romance and honestly wasn't worth the wait. There were some language issues as the backdrop did not take place in the US, and there were some dark themes of abuse that might be a trigger for some. Overall, this was not a good fit for my reading preferences, but hoping the next reader can disagree with my opinion.
This story was not what I expected but I liked. The slow burn is one of my favorite tropes and this was really slow, I feel like there was not much romance. I did like that the character kept his feelings from her.
My first and not last story by Katlyn S. Coen. I love slow burn stories and this definitely was a slow burn. I really enjoyed the story and the plot. The cast of characters grew on me and I loved getting to know them.
Thank you to Net Galley for allowing me to review this book. Unfortunately, DNF. It was not what I expected. I did not like the characters. I was forcing myself to read this and couldn’t continue past 18%. I really like the cover which is honestly what drew me to this book along with the synopsis because typically I enjoy an opposite attract slow burn but I just couldn’t get into it. Perhaps it was a translation issue? I really don’t know other than it was very cringe for me.

I went back and forth with this one. I don't know if it's because it has been translated, but it was difficult to get into and there were some elements that I really struggled with. (How can you take a hero seriously who refers to his penis as 'Jolly Jumper'??) I stuck with it though; although it took quite a long while to get there, the journey was worth it.
This isn't the best romance that I've read and I found a lot of the writing a little clunky. But, overall I did enjoy it and I would encourage anyone to stick with it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily
So first of all, when I originally requested this book, I thought it was a graphic novel as it was categorized under that. Despite it clearly being a novel, I decided I'd give it a chance.
Unfortunately, this is not the book for me. Although the premise has some promise with the enemies to lovers aspect, I could not get in to it. I did not feel invested in any of the characters. I found the writing did not pull me in and while I usually don't DNF books, unfortunately this one is a DNF for me -- at least for now. I wanted to try to finish it in order to give a proper rating, but at this time, there are just too many other books I'd want to spend my time reading instead.
1 star -- with the disclaimer that I did not finish reading it so it may deserve more!
DNF at 10 percent in - I am not even adding this book on my 2023 reads
I could not get into this book - it was boring and the characters were annoying and flat.
I would not recommend this book.
DNF.
First, I could not take the name for his penis seriously.
I chose to DNF this book because I was not enjoying it, the characters was annoying, and I found some of the things they said either disturbing or just really weird.
This wasn’t what I expected. I went in thinking one thing and what I read was something different. It was okay. Not really for me. I encourage others to give it a read because it may be one your favorites.
