Review to come closer to the release date to blog/goodreads/etc..

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

Just look at that cover! That blurb! How could I resist? And I couldn't! This was a stunning graphic novel!

Meet our tiny little snowcat, he is the youngest of his brothers and the cutest. Seriously. Just look at that! Throughout the years he has heard the many tales about an Eldking, about how the country was before everything went wrong, about evil foxes. About magic. Talents. And a curse. Then when the day comes that his father dies, my heart broke for this little snowcat. Unlike his brothers he seemed to have more emotions, the death definitely hit him the hardest. I just wanted to give Syv a big hug, especially when his brothers send him out on a fake journey, just to get rid of him, after all no one has survived the journey. Everyone succumbed to the curse... or worse. I loved following Syv on his journey, how he started afraid of everything (yes, even trees) to unsure what to do. But he kept going. He had a mission and he was determined to make his brothers proud (yes, he is not the smartest lightbulb at times, or he is just that dedicated to family, whatever comes first XD). I loved seeing him get braver and braver and just go on. Even when the journey gets hard. Even when the curse starts taking place. I definitely loved that. Sorry, but based on how he at times acted and how he seemed to be I had expected him to run back home. Sorry Syv for doubting you!

I loved all the things we discover on the road to the Eldking crown. Not just seeing the land get corrupted, but also meet other people, learn what people think of snowcats (to which I kind of agreed based on how the brothers were), see some gorgeous landscapes, and learn the real truth. Yep. I don't want to give away too much, but there is much more to the curse, to the crown, to the old Eldking that meets the eye and I was just shocked and stunned!

And along the way Syv meets a young girl named Kit, short for Kitarangash O'eilah! I loved this girl from the start. She was fierce, strong, and oh yes, didn't care. She was going that way anyway, so hey. XD I loved finding out more about this girl, including some surprises which were fun and great and made me love her even more.

The only thing that I would have liked to see done better was the fight with the big king. The big showdown. It just felt very lacking and very rushed. Everything was over and done before I could even cheer. Which is just a freaking shame. There is so much build-up, so much WOW, and then boom over.

But the ending was still fantastic and yes, it made me cry. I loved that transformation when he got closer to his home, that was just beautifully done and WOW. Plus, I loved seeing how everything turned out to and how everything got gorgeous. I am so proud of my little snowcat. He went through a lot and did some amazing things.

The art, OMG OMG OMG, I want some prints of this one because DANG. It was also the main reason I picked this one up. I just couldn't resist it. The colours, so stunning. The way the characters were drawn (love our little snowcat).

All in all, if you want a gorgeous fantasy graphic novel featuring snowcats, lore, foxes, and epic journey, bravery, and love love gorgeous art, then be sure to check this one out!

This would make a really good kids movie.
Loved the art! Some of the pages where so pretty I want them as a picture to hang on my wall.
I would have liked some more background on the snowcats and the world separate from the foxes but from what we did get I really liked. The world building is all very interesting.
Was not expecting the twist near the end though I probably should have. I really liked it.
The ending was a bit rushed for my taste though I understand why it was.
The bonus material at the end was really cool. Learnt a lot about the foxes and snowcats. I just wish that was at the beginning rather than the end or mixed into the story.

In this beautifully illustrated and heartwarming story Syv, a young snowcat prince sets out on a quest to save his kingdom by finding the long lost magical crown of his ancestors. He is sent on this quest by his jealous older brothers when his father dies, because they fear that he will be made king.

On his journey he makes new friends, encounters danger and also discovers the truth about the crown, but most importantly he discovers who he is and what it means to be courageous.

The artwork in this graphic novel is beautiful with gorgeous colouring. It is a book that will appeal to any age and definitely one that should be read in paperback/hardback. The story is also very heartwarming and just right for the approaching winter season when cuddling up with a good book is a must. A beautiful story, shown and told in a beautiful way.

Thank you to NetGalley, Oni Press, and Diana Norlund for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

What a great stand-alone graphic novel for a younger audience! Syv is one of the snowcat princes, though his older brothers look down on him for being the youngest and having more innocent ideals. To get them out of their hair, they send him on a quest to find the Eldking's crown, which is meant to remove a fabled curse from the snowcat's.

Of course Syv doesn't know it is a fruitless adventure and he refuses to give up. With the help of his newfound friend, Kit, he will do whatever it takes to find the Eldking's crown and break the curse.

The art is colorful with gorgeous character designs, expressions, colors, and absolutely amazing backgrounds. The story is wholesome and I absolutely loved it from beginning to end (especially end). A great graphic novel I would recommend for a younger audience 8-12 years of age.

So charming! I love that it is a story about a cat prince going on a journey to prove himself/fix his kingdom. My only complaint is that there were all male cats, and the female cats were added as a side note in the back of the book.

Wow. 5 stars. I'd give it more if I could. The art is phenomenal! I love the use of color and everything is absolutely stunning. It is the story of a young prince sent to find a mythical crown. Mainly to get him out of the palace, but he begins an epic journey. The story is engaging, so much so I am about to be late for work because I couldn't put it down. It is about friendship and history and what to do when your past isn't really what you were told. I think it would be a huge hit for both kids and adults.

The Snowcat Prince is a beautifully illustrated graphic novel about a young prince’s quest to find the long-lost magical crown believed to have once belonged to their ancestor, the Eldking. The legend states that whoever finds it will break the curse on their land and bring honor to the family, however failure will mark them with three black stripes, and banishment. Along Syv’s journey he meets a young girl named Kit, outlaws and the enemy sand foxes!

The artwork and color theme in this graphic novel is absolutely beautiful and mesmerizing. I adored baby Syv in the beginning because he was drawn very adorably cute! The artwork emphasizes the magic as well as the background circumstances using various color tones. I loved how warm tones were used for the sand foxes while cold tones were used for the snowcats.

The plot of this graphic novel is quite simplistic and singular without any additional subplots. There isn’t much character development and the characters aren’t thoroughly fleshed out. However, there is a bit of mystery with a good twist that is hard to see coming.

Overall, this was an adorable story with a strong message behind it. I wish it was a bit longer because the artwork and writing were beautiful and engaging. I would love to read more stories from this world in the future and I definitely recommend this book!

I have a child who is obsessed with cats and who loves graphic novels. So, this was an easy choice, this book has both. She loved the book and said she wants to read more from the same author, so we will be looking forward to more books!
I read the book too and – wow, the book is absolutely gorgeous and awesome! The drawings are so nice, and the story is nice, overall, this book feels like something special. Just the right amount of text and the best drawings. Cats, magic, adventures, friendship, fantasy world – this book has it all. Loved it, both me and my child!

5/5 Stars

Thank you to Oni Press and Netgalley for providing me with a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This review is going to be shorter but I absolutely loved this book and you should preorder/buy it now. (I will be honest I wrote this review when I was exhausted so if it is a bit all over the place that is why)

I know I say this a lot but when I saw this pop up on Netgalley, I instantly requested it. It is an adorable story about this young snowcat that just wants to prove himself to his family and finds out that maybe the story he has known his whole life isn’t fully true. The art style is everything I look for when I go picking up graphic novels, it is cartoony and whimsical and just amazing. This was such a fast read for me but has such a good plot about friendship and questioning the history you are told. This book was labeled Children’s fiction but I feel like it is more on the YA side. Back to how much I loved the art style, I have read a lot of graphic novels and I think this might be my favorite art style I have seen. I just want to have someone make a stuffed animal of the main character because he looks so squishable and cuddly. I have cats and have for most of my life so to find an adorable graphic novel all about cats is something that I was obligated to read and I feel like I have a good judge on whether or not the main character would be squishy and he would be.

If you enjoy cute graphic novels, cats, adventure, and friendship, this is an amazing book to pick up. If you don’t enjoy those things, please go pick it up still and just look at the cute creatures that are throughout the graphic novel.

Very cute story and beautiful artwork! I do wish that the book was just a bit longer as I felt myself finally caring for the characters and the story, and then it ended. Also, had a nice little twist which I did not see coming! I know it’s meant to be short but would like maybe some more stories from this universe in the future!

Loved this story about a fluffy-looking but very proud kitten that has to come to terms with his prejudices and learn from history.

This comic is full of beautiful colored illustrations, all full of magic and nature.
The story is exciting reading for kids 6-10 years.

I would love to read more about this universe.

Thank you, Oni Press, for the advance reading copy.

I love the artsyle so much. I find the story quite interesting as well. However, I expect the characters to deliver more.

The story is about a young Prince to go on a quest to find a long lost magical crown to break the curse on the kingdom.

His journey is full of adventure with lots of new baddest characters he would meet in this quest.

A perfect adventure filled comic graphic novel for the middle grades.

Beautifully illustrated, "The Snowcat Prince" is a fantastic tale about a young snowcat prince who sets out to find a crown that will hopefully save his people's future. Along the way he meets a young girl named Kit and with her discovers that everything he's come to know over the years has been a lie. It was a delightful story and I'd love to see more stories set in this world in the future.
