I LOVED this! So much better than The Catch, which I thought was mediocre. This has everything you want in a thriller, suspense, shock, twists & turns, murder! Loved the main characters thought they were all so realistic and added something different to the narrative. Would highly recommend.
An enjoyable fast-paced read, however some parts were a little bit unbelievable. I enjoyed the different timeframes to learn more about the history.
Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
When I read a TM Logan book, I always know I'm in for a treat. This book didn't disappoint. Action-packed, gripping, and tense. Yet another fabulous read. Recommended.
I have been a fan of TM Logan's books since the beginning, this was an interesting read with lots of twists - and the last twist, although it was surprising, I also suspected it!! Proud of guessing that! Very well written, really easy to read and as always I got invested in the characters. I'm really pleased I got to read this one, can't wait to see what his next book is about 😊
A great thriller. Generally you always get a good read from TM Logan. This was pacey, frightening, and compelling. I always find that being framed for a crime is the scariest scenario and I enjoyed following Heather as she tried to prove her innocence. I live local to the setting of this book and thought it was well described. Enjoyable to the end.
This is a book that is correctly called a "thriller" . Great from the start and I thought I had got it sussed where the story was leading. How wrong I was ! A gripping story which would make a fabulous film.
Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC which I definitely recommend

I was completely gripped and intrigued the whole way through this book. It was fast paced, tense and had great plot twists.
I loved the main character and how strong and smart she was, she was also very likeable.
I read this whole book in less than 24 hours and couldn’t put it down. The plot and the premise of the book was very gripping and I loved the writing style!
I will definitely have to read some more books by this author as I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I gave this book 4.5 ⭐️ and will definitely be recommending it.
T M Logan always delivers a great thriller. I cannot get enough of his work and a bonus is they make excellent tv adaptions.
Let me start this review by saying, I can definitely see this book being adapted into a tv show!
The book begins with Heather, who is attending her funeral. From reading the first chapter I knew that this was going to have me hooked and I was right!!
The short, snappy, cliffhanger chapters are exactly what the author does best, leaving you wanting just one more chapter
I truly struggled to put this book down.
I had so many theories, particularly in relation to how the dad was killed. At times I knew heather was guilty and at others, I knew she was innocent
What I definitely did not expect was that ending. I loved the way in which the author brought it all together, with such a satisfying ending
I thoroughly enjoyed this book
Another great book from TM Logan. It kept me gripped, through the many twists and turns and left me guessing. Highly recommend.
A brilliantly written thriller from T M Logan. Fast-moving and intriguing. Highly recommended. The storyline is gripping and believable.
Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.
Another brilliant read from T M Logan.
Heather has recently been release from prison 10 years after she was found guilty of three murder of her husband Liam. Heather is out to clear her name as she is convinced she was framed but she needs to be careful as she could break the conditions of her parole.
As usual TM Logan creates a thrill by the minute can’t put it down page turner. A decade earlier heather lost all that was important to her and she’s back for her life and revenge. Hold on it’s a wild ride.
Always a big fan of TM Logan, and this one was to add to the collection. Loved the past and present entwining and making it the story for Heather! Loved all the thrillers the book shows up!
When a book begins with a woman attending her own funeral you have a good idea of the type of read you are in for.
Recently released from prison for the murder of her husband, Heather is on parole with strict conditions. You know from the second her kids are mentioned in those conditions that she will break every single one. She is also out to clear her name but the author has cleverly written the narration to give it a feeling of unreliability so you are never one hundred percent sure if she did it or not.
I thought this was going to be a domestic thriller about a husband and wife but there is a lot more to this book than that. Politics and underhand dealings, shady characters, possible affairs and it says something when you think you can trust ex offenders and junkies more than the middle class suits.
With a protagonist you can’t help but root for it has you questioning what you would do if your whole life was turned upside down and you lost everything.
A well paced and skilfully constructed book that escalates to an action packed denouement. This will keep you on your toes while you try to work out not only who but why…..
This is another of those ‘I couldn’t put it down’ books. It’s a cracking good read and it kept me up till one o’clock in the morning to finish it.
Heather has lost everything. Convicted of murdering her MP husband Liam, she was sentenced to 18 years. After nine years she is out on licence, but the rules are very strict. No contact with her family, including her two sons who she hasn’t seen since they were toddlers. No approaching anyone involved in the case, the police, the lawyers, no-one.
But Heather is determined to prove her innocence, whatever the cost. The trouble is, she can’t do it alone, but who can she trust?
Over the last nine years, there was someone, a journalist, the only sliver of light in the darkness. He believed that Liam was trying to uncover corruption in Parliament and was killed because of it. That the police missed the evidence, instead taking the easy route and arresting the wife for a crime of passion. He also tried to prove that people were being paid to keep quiet, but ended up in court for libel, losing everything including his career. His name is Owen Tanner and he’s nothing like Heather expected.
Can he help her and should she trust him? She also gets assistance from her roommate at the hostel where she has to live now she’s out, an ex-druggie and alcoholic called Jodie. Jodie understands how Heather feels, because she also lost her child when she was in prison – a daughter named Holly. And she knows how to break into houses and steal things when you need to.
It’s such an exciting book, I’m sure it will be on TV soon like The Holiday and The Catch. I certainly hope so.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
#TheMother by #TMLogan
⏩for synopsis
I’ve been a fan of this author from the very beginning but this could be his best yet…
This one was a top notch thriller that had no let up… I was completely and utterly addicted - desperately racing through it to find out what happened next.
Heather was a very likeable, relatable and emotive character who carried the narrative well. The plot was a twisty one, seeped with mystery and suspicion with an ending I didn’t see coming which is always a plus!
Logan writes with the ease of a well practiced hand; he draws you in easily, keeps your interest with short snappy charters, cliffhangers and a baffling plot, but always offers a satisfying conclusion - what more could you want?!
With thanks to the author, @netgalley and @zaffrebooks for allowing us to read this one early (sorry it’s late!)
OUT NOW!

The Mother by T.M.Logan
Having read all of this authors other books I was so excited to finally get to read The Mother, and it did not disappoint. So much happens during this book it was like a whirlwind, a great page turner with a huge amount of suspense.
I felt the main characters determination throughout to discover the truth behind her husbands murder and was truly taken along for the ride. I really enjoyed the other characters in the book too especially Jodie. Thoroughly enjoyable conclusion! I cannot wait to read more and more from T.M.Logan. Thank you so much Bonnier Books for the e-arc in return for my opinions.
Absolutely bleedin' loved this book! I don't even know where to start. OK.. Heather Vernon married to the always busy Liam, whose job is in Parliament. Two young sons and happy in life. But things have been somewhat strained lately and Heather thought maybe Liam was having an affair..so things are a little tense this last night. One morning she's woken by her boys, even though its Liams turn to get up..because they can't waken Daddy. Liam is lying dead on their sofa. Things happen very fast and Heather is arrested and charged with the murder. She loses her husband, her kids and her freedom in no time at all.
Her case is a disaster and all evidence,or lack of,points to someone Liam trusted...Heather.
After 10 years inside for a murder she didn't commit,Heather is ready to risk everything to see her boys, and also find the real killer. There's one particular scene in this book that literally had me holding my breathe it was so engrossing I may as well have been there. (The van scene...that's all I'll say for anyone that has read it). This book is heart pounding, infuriating(as Heather fights for justice) and chocablock with great believable characters,so sincere that you feel like you know these people. You can see them in front of you. If you haven't got to this one yet, bump it up your pile! One of my top 20 of 2023 for sure.
BOOKWORMS RATING: 📒 📒 📒 📒 📒
Another winner from this excellent author. Like his earlier books “The Mother” is full of many twists and turns with a completely unexpected ending!
Heather Vernon, wife of an up and coming MP, is released from prison early after serving 1o years for a crime she claims she did not commit, the brutal murder of her husband.
She has lost all contact with her 2 sons who were very young at the time and is told she is not allowed to have any further contact with them or her husband’s family.
Completely devastated by this news she vows to find the real killer and solve the murder despite the police being absolutely convinced that the right person was convicted.
As she starts her investigation she finds some unusual allies to help her,Jodie, her roommate in the hostel where she is staying and Owen the disgraced reporter who wrote an article querying the initial verdict.
However as they delve more deeply into the case it becomes apparent that they are getting too close to a truth that has been covered up for years and their lives are in danger.
This is a real rollercoaster of a read which moves forward at a relentless pace. Heather and her small group of helpers are great characters and behind it all is the love a mother has for her children which pushes Heather forwards even when everything seems hopeless.
There were many twists and turns and certainly a couple of red herrings in the plot and the explosive ending had me on the edge of my seat. Other books by this author have been adapted for Tv and I wouldn’t be surprised if this one made it onto the small screen too.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bonnier Books UK for my arc.
