This was such a sweet book for this winter/holiday season. I enjoyed following along with the characters and felt connected to them. I enjoyed this story. I would definitely recommend it.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Leigha and Blake. They meet in a bar that Leigha owns. Blake has come to Pittsburgh to find out why his ex wife has divorced him. When he goes her house and sees she is pregnant. He is ver upset he stops at Leigha’s bar and gets drunk. He had just won a trip to New Orleans he ask Leigha to go and she says yes. They have a great time and fall in love.

This was a cute and delightful read, but what a quick romance this was! Great beach read.
Many thanks to the author and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Not really my cup of tea, I couldn’t connect with the characters, their behaviour seemed immature to me and not lifelike

Talk about a whirlwind romance! After living in a different state from his wife for over a year, Blake goes home to surprise his wife with a free trip he has won from his company. He knows something is not right between them and goes home to fix things. When he arrives, he receives confirmation that his wife has moved on. Feeling down, he goes to a local bar, meets Leigha and they decide to go on the trip together.

I enjoyed this book, but it did feel far fetched that the two main characters would move so quickly together.

Thank you to JM Grant, NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book for free.

This is a contemporary romance novel about starting over again after experiencing a failed relationship. Readers who enjoy reading about modern characters who behave with modern values might like to read this novel. I gave it two stars because it is not the usual kind of novel I read and I did not like the characters, whose behavior seemed immature, selfish, and unrealistic to me.

I received this novel from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

This was a wuick read that I read in almost one sitting that made me laugh and cry in equal measure. There are some truly heart-wrenching moments that had me reaching for the tissues but also some hopeful moments that left me uplifted. A great read

A quick and easy read for Christmas. It is not a bad book, nor is it a really great book, but if you want an easy read when snuggling under a blanket watching the snow fall this would be a good fit. Would recommend.

quite an unbelievable storyline, However, it captures the magic of Christmas and true love along the way. A short and sweet read, not bad to read on a rainy afternoon

Review to come around Christmas to blog/goodreads/etc..

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

A cute book about two people finding love. This time the couple is going to New Orleans which I absolutely loved!

In this book we follow Blake and Leigha (or Cassy as she was called in the first book, yes confusing). First up we get a few chapters from Blake's POV and see the woes he has with his wife. She is not answering, her parents are not talking, and I had a chuckle at what his next plan was. Oh no boo. XD I am still not sure whose side I am on, yes, Amelia wasn't doing the right things, but Blake also should maybe have tried a bit harder because hello, I can imagine Amelia not wanting to go back and forth each week or month. Especially given it is a 4 hour trip with a plane. Like I can imagine. She is probably lonely and wants some love. But how she eventually did things? Not good. I would have been open about it if I had an issue like this. Not just do what she did and then hope he never finds out. I am glad that Blake went back to his town. Happy that he took the reigns. Finally took some action. And as the story continues and we see more of Blake, I really took more of a liking to him. I loved how cute he was with Leigha, and how he tried to make her happy. How at one point they had all the things she wanted to see and he took her to most. It felt like out of a fairy tale.

Then there is Cassy, um sorry Leigha. I loved meeting Cassy, um sorry Leigha, for real now. Not just see her as a side character, but as the main character. And see what she is up to. I love that she bartends, but that she is actually the owner of the bar. And I loved that she just said yes to Blake's offer for a vacation. I loved that she fell in love bit by bit with Blake. I loved how enthusiastic Leigha was about so many things, and how motivated she was. And how, when she finds out what her bestie packed for her in the suitcase, she just went with it. XD

I loved the sparks between the two. Maybe a bit rushed and fast, but I will take it. I was just rooting for them to kiss. And the sex scenes were also pretty well written.

I loved seeing New Orleans during Christmas/Holidays season and at times I just wished I could step into the book and walk around for real.

The ending was a bit predictable, it reminded me a bit of how the last book went before the end. I am not sure if I am enjoying these, because I would rather have adults TALK to each other. Or have a bit more trust. I mean, in this case apparently mom decided it would be a swell idea to set up his son with his wife just as he was coming home at the airport with the girl he took along, and then he is like totally not calling her... until the moment she is just like fuck this. Good lord peeps. Just go to him as he is totally oblivious. XD

But the epilogue was fantastic. I am happy they are making it work.

But -0.5 for changing the names. I mean, I would have minded it a bit if I had read this book much further away from the first one, but sadly, both these books got up on Netgalley at the same time and I read them one after the other. It was VERY confusing how we, instead of Cassy, got someone named Leigha. And how the moment that I loved in the first book was changed because apparently Wilson from book 1 is now called Jack.

Plus, it could use some edits. Some things just fell a bit stiff, or words were a bit odd. It was like that in the first book, but in this book there were a few bits here and there as well.

But all in all, I am enjoying this series. I am delighted that there is a next book coming out and I cannot wait for it to come out so I can read it! I would recommend this book.

A captivating and intresting story about love, heart-ache and unwitting betrayal. But it’s also a story about second chances and healing, specially during that time of holidays. Enjoyable read.
