This book is a history of the Eltham Lodge and the family who built it. The author has done a lot of research and shows how the house and the inhabitants changed through the years. The book was well written. I found the historical illustrations and the analysis of them interesting. The house and the people lead colorful lives and the author captured that. Enjoy

This detailed and thorough history of Eltham Lodge, currently The Royal Blackheath Golf Club, gives a fascinating insight into its development. There are many wonderful illustrations, including paintings, maps and plans, which help to tell the story of this interesting site and the many people involved in its past. A good book for those interested in history with some great photography of the house, portraits, documents and the like.

Sadly this would not download for me and was not kindle accessible.
It was a shame as I used to live near eltham / shooters hill and was really interested to learn more

A smart nonfiction historical work that is both interesting and provocative. Absolutely enjoyed learning about this topic.
