An enemies to lovers coupled with forced proximity. I didn't feel the chemistry between the two MCs, but I did get a chuckle out of their pranks. I also loved the finding yourself journey that Serena embarks on. I rooted for her to triumph and find her way.

A fun rom-com that delivers plenty of laughs and light-hearted moments. Following familiar tropes make it an enjoyable and satisfying read for fans of feel-good romance.

This such what I needed right now. It’s fun, and interesting. The world is well built and I loved diving into the story. Ziggy and Serena are a great couple and it was so fun to follow their slow rise romance. The forced proximity and having to finally work together was a brilliant story plot and I love how everything turns out. All in all, this a fun and light read. A true page turner.

This one was cute!! I love going into books blind and this was no exception, one aspect I didn’t see coming and I am so glad I didn’t know about it first!!

This was truely a laugh out loud rom com. I actually did laugh, or snort, one or the other.

I throughly enjoyed the banter, the antics and the weirdly funny logic behind their actions.

If rom coms are your thing this 👌🏼

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
The blurb gives an accurate overview of what this story is about. Ziggy plays in a band, and as Serena was interested in music in her youth there are many references to types of music and bands from the eighties; this was unfamiliar to me but as it is only part of the story my lack of comprehension did not spoil the story. There was a good basic plot with some funny twists (and only a few words of bad language) that kept me reading to the end. However, I disliked the main characters intensely: who could move into a house belonging to friends who are midway through an expensive renovation and remodel and treat it the way they did, even going so far as to throw a housewarming party?! I'm sure many readers will enjoy this book but it did not stand out as exceptionally good for me.

I just loved this storyline. When there is a mix up on who is going to house sit Srena and Ziggy are forced to share but they are both trying to get rid of each other with a series of pranks. When they join forces and work together they make a formidable team. I just loved seeing this play out. A fun read, with a dash or romance and some tongue in cheek banter ... what's not to love about it.

I really liked the writing in this book! The cheating is not great so that made it less of an enjoyable read. I will read more by Portia MacIntosh though!

Thank you NetGalley and Portia MacIntosh!

Cheating is not a plot point I enjoy reading, so the fact Serena was in a relationship for the vast majority of the book did not sit well with me at all. I had to put the book down several times and let the frustration fade.

I’m a little torn on how I feel about this book. On one hand, there’s nothing inherently wrong with it. But on the other, I feel like the focus of the book was lost.

Nowhere in the blurb does it talk about anything other than Ziggy and Serena’s living arrangement and ensuing feud. However that is a very VERY small part of the story.

I would have liked it better if it was closer to the description.

I absolutely adore Portia MacIntosh - I have not read one book by her that hasn’t been great!

Your place or mine is brilliant. This is a rom-com and so we all have an idea where the plot is going to go. However, there were a few little nuggets I totally wasn’t expecting with this story.

The author is skilled at creating believable characters with depth who contribute to the overall story.

The antics with Ziggy were hilarious. He was so annoying, but the chemistry built up as the chapters progressed!

Highly recommend this book and the author to everyone.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for the advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review 📚

I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.

When her boss and landlord passed away Serena lost both her job and flat. Fortunately her friend offers her to house sit for her while she’s away. Turns out her husband did the same thing for one of his friends so now she’ll have to share the house with Ziggy. A very messy, arrogant, struggling musician who’s main objective aren’t to be getting on Serena’s nerves. How do you get out of a situation like that? It’s simple, annoy the heck out of him.

There are a lot of things going on in this one, some compelling storylines and others that are more generic. I really enjoyed Serena’s personal journey, growing into a businesswoman and finding her voice after losing a close friend and gaining a business. I would have loved more of that aspect, instead we got a cheating ex and new annoying roommate.

Ziggy grew on me, I can totally see why Serena fell for him. I really enjoyed the scene where they went to get the vase back. His band also makes for some interesting scenes. Forced proximity is an amazing trope, one of my favorites.

I’ll say it again, there’s so much potential around Serena’s personal journey and Dirty Di’s why not explore that more? That would’ve set it apart from all the other romcoms out there. It’s fine the way it is just not what I’d hoped.

“Your Place or Mine” by Portia MacIntosh is a delightful contemporary romance that earns a solid four stars in my book. MacIntosh’s storytelling is engaging, with relatable characters and a witty narrative that keeps you entertained. The chemistry between the two leads is palpable, and their banter adds a lighthearted touch to the story. While the plot might follow some familiar tropes, MacIntosh injects enough freshness into the tale to make it an enjoyable read. If you’re seeking a charming romance with a dash of humor, “Your Place or Mine” is a great choice that doesn’t disappoint.

Portia MacIntosh has become an author I look forward to reading. Her stories are smart, funny and entertaining. However, this one fell flat for me. I had a hard time buying the chemistry between the two characters. There were moments that I enjoyed, but overall this wasn't a great one for me. Still, this hasn't put me off Portia's writing and I look forward to the next book.

This book really didn't work for me but I am very picky about my romance.
I didn't like either of the main characters or the fact that the FMC was in another relationship for a lot of the book.
I don't like when cheating is a plot point in romance books.
Overall it was just pretty boring and had too many storylines that weren't necessary.

This book had me smiling as I turned each page! I loved the humor and how relatable Serena’s problems were. I really like reading books that have the characters go on a journey and this was it. I look forward to reading more of her books!

Humorous and witty, not normally the kind of book I would pick up but it was funny none the less! I don’t know if I would read it again, but I feel that this could become a favorite for many!
