I don’t mind unlikeable characters if the storyline is interesting enough, however I was having a hard time getting through the book.
I wish it was more focused on serena and ziggy storyline rather than hers with dean.

This book took me a while to get into and I really wanted to like it more than I did. The banter between Serena and Ziggy was entertaining at times but I didn't like how she was in a dysfunctional relationship with someone else for most of the book. She found out the guy she was dating was engaged and still didn't break up with him. That just made no sense to me then she all of the sudden falls in love with Ziggy? it just seemed a little forced and very rushed by the end. I would definitely give this author another shot but this book wasn't for me.

This book was such a nice quick read and I really enjoyed the story! I feel like so much happened in such a short time, that I couldn't put the book down. In my opinion the book could have been a little longer, since some things seemed a little rushed due to the low number of pages.

Since a lot of people care about this: There is cheating in the book, so if you don't like this in your books, this book is not for you!

Very funny! The relationships in the book were kind of questionable and that was off putting but definitely a funny book.

This book just wasn't for me. Was it the fact that she was in a relationship and fell in love with someone else? Was it maybe that her boyfriend was engaged to someone else and she didn't break up with him? I don't know. Just wasn't it for me.

This was the first novel I’d read by Portia MacIntosh and it definitely didn’t disappoint.

I loved this fast paced romantic comedy. It had so much heart and the exploration of dealing with grief was executed perfectly.

Main character Serena was so likeable and I wanted to reach in and give her a hug. The way she picked herself up was commendable and I loved the way she handled finding out she was the other woman. It was fun seeing the romance between herself and Ziggy develop - I’m a sucker for a friends to lovers! The heist really made me laugh too.

A fab read that I highly recommend. Can’t wait to pick some of the authors earlier titles!

An absolute hoot of a story. Fast paced, great characters, lots of funny moments and yet poignant and sweet. Iloved every page.

How things can change in one year. In one fell swoop, Serena loses her job and apartment but gains a roommate when she is house sitting fir a friend and Ziggy is sort of the deal.
It’s a battle of wills to outsmart each other but what if they joined forces instead?
It’s a fun breezy read about taking a leap of faith and sometimes doors are flung wide open so people get the picture.

This is the first book I read by Portia Maclntosh and it was utterly fantastic. It's well written and the story itself is a fun romance that I couldn't put down. I enjoyed reading it and am excited to share this with my friends.

Enemies to lovers, forced proximity, roommates...what more could you want?

I really liked the banter between Ziggy and Serena, and the set-up was written really well. Their antics were absolutely hilarious (iykyk) and Ioved how they both tried to annoy the other. Now, Dean, I hated (rightfully). Go Serena for trying to pull one over him!! Also, her inheritance had me in stitches. An amazing way to elevate the story.

This is my first read by Portia Macintosh and I enjoyed it! Sometimes you just need a breathe of fresh air and this book was that for me!

This enemy to lovers/opposites attract romance brings together two very unlikely characters in a “whoops I messed up” kind of way! The story starts with Serena losing her apartment, her job, and her beloved boss all in one day! When Serena’s friend is traveling out of the country she asks her to stay at their house which is going through renovations! While Serena is forever grateful for this temporary situation it seems her friends husband has promised the house to his friend, Ziggy! Are they able to set aside their difference and get along? Or will trying to one-up the other get the best of them?

Ultimately, I did enjoy the book. It was a bit chaotic in my opinion just because there were so many story lines but it did all tie together in the end. I enjoyed the storyline following Diana so much and thought she was like Serena's guardian angel! I thought Serena and Ziggy’s characters were great and definitely had some true LOL moments with their banter! The secondary characters were great as well and would read a second book about another romance if Macintosh went that route!

My Thoughts:
Serena has just lost her boss her job and the place she lived. So when her friend allows her to house sit she jumps at the offer but what happens next she wasn’t prepared for. This story is funny, cute and a easy read although at times it was a bit slow and I am still not sure how I feel about the chemistry between the characters. This would make a good romance movie. Portia MacIntosh’s “Your Place or Mine?” is a fun romance. Serena loses her job and her apartment in one fell swoop and is luckily able to find a place to live by house sitting for her best friend as she and her husband travel. However, her best friend’s husband also asked his friend Ziggy to house sit.

Of course Serena and Ziggy drive each other bonkers. As they pull pranks on one another, they start to understand each other a little better.

What an amazing first release of the year for Portia MacIntosh, kicking off her 2023 releases in great style (at least I am assuming there will be a few more book from this wonderful author later in the year!).

This book had me laughing out loud many times during the book, it is hilarious, and I absolutely loved the dynamics between Serena and Ziggy.

Their one-upmanship their love of a scheme, and it goes from them declaring all out war when house-sitting together, to well something a great deal friendlier.

Oh and the storyline with Dean, so so good, I loved Serena's mind when it came to him! Also loved meeting Al, and discovering the nature of Serena's new business opportunity.

There is just so much to love in this book it had me smiling throughout, and I seemed to whizz through the pages and when life meant I needed to stop reading for a bit, I was counting down until I could carry on with the story Loved it oh so much.

This is Portia MacIntosh at the top her game. Bravo!

There's a lot going on in Serena's life, all at once. She's dealing with the untimely death or her beloved boss, plus losing her job and home thrown in for good measure. She feels like she's landed on her feet with an offer to housesit for friends, but hasn't bargained on their being an extra house mate to deal with!

Your Place or Mine has all the hallmarks of a classic chicklit romance. There's the will-they-won't-they, the hapless adventures and a whole load of near miss moments. But what the book also has is real heart. The main characters are dealing with a lot in the lives, and a fair chunk of it is not trivial in the slightest.

Your Place or Mine is a great escapist read, and one that I am sure to go back to again.

Unbeknownst to her, her friend’s husband also offered the house to someone else. Enter Ziggy. Right off the bat, Serena and Ziggy butt heads with one another and try to out scheme each other to make the living situations unbearable. But Serena has it all figured out: she’s going to find a new job, get a new apartment and hopefully become serious with the guy she’s current seeing… what could go wrong?

I really liked this book. I’m also a big fan of enemies to lovers. The plot was interesting and well thought out. I really enjoyed Serena’s character development throughout this book (Diana would be so proud!). Her interactions with Ziggy was infuriating and sweet at the same time. There are plenty of twist and turns in this book that kept me reading all of it in one go! I hope you guys enjoy this one!

Your Place Or Mine? by Portia Macintosh is a delightful contemporary offering that made me smile from the start.
I always adore Portia Macintosh’s novels. They are very charming and make me feel good. Your Place Or Mine? is wonderfully light-hearted and highly amusing. I found myself chortling out loud at times. It is a delicious rom-com that is highly entertaining and would make a marvelous movie.
The story is written in the first person enabling the reader to become intimately acquainted with the lead character. She has a kind heart and a generous spirit, and is a fun-filled character.
We see a beautiful bond that has been severed by death. Grief is raw. I loved this description: “Grief is how we keep loving people when they’re not here anymore.” We mourn deeply because we love deeply. We see the devastation in a heart that loss brings. In contrast we witness family squabbling over money and possessions left behind. This is ugly. The character with the pure heart and soul is very beautiful.
House sitting in a partly done fixer-upper causes friction between two characters. There are some delightfully amusing verbal volleys and scenes between the pair as each tries to out-do the other.
Your Place Or Mine? is another triumph from Portia Macintosh. It is a novel that will keep you up at night as you read ‘just one more chapter’! I absolutely loved it.

An easy read with some funny moments along the way.

The synopsis sounded really intriguing, but it really wasn’t the main focus of the book. I couldn’t really root for the main couple, as their chemistry was lacking and there was no tension. Also found the characters to be superficial and annoying. Due to all this I skimmed a lot. The pacing wasn’t the best either, and I couldn’t force myself to finish it.
