Absolutely terrifying! I read a lot of thrillers but this hits in a different level. You have absolutely no clue what's going to happen on even what has already happened to be fair, you are just as in the dark as the last passenger is and that is soooo creepy. The eerie vibe is ramped up constantly, the book keeps up a fast pace, the characters are all well written and made real. And the ending..... jeeeez!!! I've never read anything by the author before but he is a master if the thriller genre. This is a must read

This is the first book by Will Dean I have read but it won’t be the last, a true master of suspense. Just when I thought I had fathomed out what was going to happen next there was another twist and I was wrong. It is certainly an edge of your seat, gripping tale that had me wondering who to trust. This is a must buy book for anyone who loves a good mystery.

Absolutely loved this book. Haven't read anything by Will Dean before so wasn't sure what to expect with The Last Passenger.

Once I started reading I just couldn't put it down. I needed to see where this story was going. This is an intense and unpredictable read. There are some dark and twisted plots in the story which will keep you on the edge of your seat. The tension keeps building throughout and you really don't know what is going to happen next. What an ending too!

Highly recommended. Thank you to the author, Hodder & Stoughton and Netgalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a really strange book with unexpected twists and turns. Without giving away the plot line and spoiling things for other readers I will just say that I found the story very different and really enjoyed it. I'd also advise that if you're thinking of going on the cruise of a lifetime, either think twice or make sure you read every bit of the Ts and Cs. Ignore this at your peril........big brother is watching you.

An adrenaline filled thriller following a fifty-year old female protagonist who uses her wits to survive. Our heroine is Cas is on a luxurious trip aboard a cruise-liner worth £600 million. She wakes up to discover her boyfriend has disappeared along with the rest of the passengers. She is completely alone. Soon she finds three other people in this massive ship and the four must find their way to safety. But can they trust each other? And what happened to the rest of the people? How did they suddenly vanish?
This has twists and turns aplenty. My jaw was on the floor. I couldn’t tell who to trust. Cas is a strong heroine and I was rooting for her all the way. This was fast paced and an absolutely exhilarating ride. I did find the ending a bit too neat and convenient however on the whole this was a solid read.

A survival thriller with an intriguing and original hook. Caz is going on a cruise with her new boyfriend Pete. When one morning she wakes up and finds the ship is completely empty…then she meets another person stranded and they need to navigate their way to security as stakes rise…Can they escape in time?
This had a unique twist. Very Black Mirror vibes. The less you know the better. This was action driven and incredibly tense. To be read in one sitting.

Caroline and her boyfriend, Pete are spending a luxurious holiday on a cruise. The first day of the cruise if filled with expensive dinners and exploring the large beautiful ship. Refreshed and relaxed Caroline wakes up the next day to find Pete missing, after a quick look she realises that no one else is on this ship, or is there?

First book I’ve read of Will Dean and it blew me away! I fell in love with all characters and I loved all the twists and turns.

4.5 stars
Even though I hadn't read anything by Will Dean before, the premise of this book completely caught my attention.
Let's just say that I won't be going on a cruise or an ocean liner anytime soon/ever after reading this.
I was immediately hooked and felt like I was truly in Caz's shoes. It had me thinking what would I do in the same situation.
The tension that was built in certain scenes, such as Daniel and Caz's tasks had me almost feeling sick with nerves and then when the ballroom doors are opened, it gave me Ghost Ship vibes in the very best way.
I loved the idea of the 'reality' show, especially after watching something like Squid Game, as well as the concept of being trapped on one of the most luxurious places only for there to be no food, water, heat, electricity, lighting or control.
I was a bit suspicious of Frannie, particularly when she was so knowledgeable about almost everything, from the possible shipping routes to philosophical reasoning. So I had a feeling all was not as it seemed with her.
But I did not anticipate the final twists, with the very last one almost feeling like the end of thriller/horror movie.
I could maybe have done with less mentions of Caz's cafe as it did start to feel a bit repetitive but I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through with this book.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What. A. Read. This book was intense and unpredictable from the very beginning. I was on the edge of my seat for the entire book, and that ended - don’t even get me started on it! If you’re looking for a suspense book that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat - this is the book for you!

The Last Passenger by Will Dean surprises me and I read it in one sitting! It is such a mind-blowing, jaw-dropping and intriguing story. Too many things happen at the same time and this will keep you guessing.

Caroline and her boyfriend Pete are spending few days on the luxurious cruise. When Caroline thinks herself has settled for the coming days, things change subtly. The next morning when Caroline wakes up, Pete is not at the room. Probably he is showering? Having breakfast? Or breathing some fresh air on the deck?

But when Caroline opens the door, she finds it so quiet. No one is there. The bed is neat and the luggage is gone. No phone signal. The cruise captain is gone as well...it is auto-piloting. The other people are literally disappeared. The first thing to do is not to be panic and survive.

What will you do when you find out other people vanish and you are trapped in the sea?

Do not read any blurb...just dive into the book straight a way. The story is well-structured and it brings you to another level of gripping and page-turning novel.

This was my first book by Will Dean so I went in blind. It's due for release early Summer 23 I believe so I'll avoid the plot details and make this short and sweet.
Started a little slow but the pace picks up considerably and doesn't let up until the huge finale! Twists and turns galore. Some plot holes here and there and some plot points that were a little too unbelievable for me but the characters were decently written and the way he described the myriad of emotions each character went through was very well done. Definitely recommend this one, it will make a fantastic summer read.

The twists and turns in this book kept me wanting more after each chapter!

I really felt like I went on a journey with Caz, the main character. The challenges faced, how this made her process things that had happened in her past. I'm not going to say too much in this review as I don't want to risk spoiling anything. It's definitely a book I will be buying for friends and family.

What can I say? I loved The Last Passenger. I don't want to give any of the story away as I think the unexpected twists and turns really make it. The ending in particular really messed with my head! This fully deserves to be huge and I'm sure it will be

Alice In Borderland hits the high seas. What starts out as a boat trip of a lifetime on the world’s most luxurious ocean liner NOT cruise ship goes south(figuratively) very quickly.

Stepping away from the shadow of Tuva, Will Dean’s solo endeavours continue to grow in scale and drama. The Last Passenger is incredibly tense, strikingly eerie and strangely intimate tale that highlights the effects of trauma on our drive to survive under pressure.

This book is a perfect summer read although maybe not for those who are taking to the ocean with an ending that truly took my breath away.

I’ve read all of Will Dean’s books and enjoyed them all and this is true for this one too.

He is a master at building tension and the opening chapters of this story really do make you think what on earth has happened to everyone on board? You can’t quite fathom where they’ve gone knowing the sheer size and amount of people on board.

It certainly had elements that caused my heart to race, it had me wondering where it was going and how the story would pan out once the reveal of the ‘why’ was evident. However parts of the story didn’t quite meet my expectations and I was unfortunately left a little deflated.

Don’t get me wrong, there were elements of really good tension through the storyline and parts were very cleverly written. The premise was great and the my thinking of behind the why if my thought process was correct was great. I loved particularly four sections within the story which without giving spoilers really did ramp up and were thrilling to read, I did feel though the parts in between these, the storyline was a little slow and that tension waned.

I loved the setting being on a cruise liner. It had authentic description and I was able to visualise the vast size of what I’d expect a cruise ship to be.

Will Dean is a great writer and although this one didn’t quite deliver for me, remembering reviews are subjective, if you enjoy thrillers you’ll likely enjoy this one, this is just my personal opinion. Do give it a go because the idea is brilliant.

I was so looking forward to reading this book and when I first started reading it, I can honestly say I was hooked. The short direct and to the point sentence’s really drew me in and made me wonder what on earth was happening. I thought the book really did start brilliantly and the pace really contributed to this.
About 20% in and the pace really slowed for me and I was getting a little frustrated as to when I’d find out what was going on, purely because the book started so well. I didn’t have to wait too long before it was revealed as to what was actually happening and why the ship was empty.
Although I liked the main theme of this book (don’t want to give any spoilers so not mentioning what it is ), unfortunately for me, once a main part of this was revealed, I actually felt underwhelmed and a bit like an anti climax after such a great start to the book.
I really wanted to love this book as much as I loved The Last Thing To Burn, but sadly it just didn’t give me the wow factor.

Honestly I can only say I've read 1 book thats even in the same standards of this thriller, that would be the running man. This was insane! A cruise line ship boards their passengers, and the next morning, only one person is left on the entire ship, how? I only couldn't stop reading this but I wanted to space it out, I found the plot was so dark and clever. I'm so surprised on how much I loved reading this, it was so thrilling, dangerous, and intense. The last chapter was a killer too.

It would seem Mr Dean has done it again.
Edge of your seat stuff.
I powered through this in a few hours, and my jaw may have dropped a few times. Plot twists that I did not see coming at all.
Feel like I need a lie down now after all that tension.
The whole thing was nuts, and I loved every second of it.
An absolute must buy and must read ASAP.
None of this buying it so sit on your bookshelf for months.
