Laura Jane Williams does not disappoint. I have loved all her books so much. This is not just a traditional rom com book. Some deeper elements are touched on and the author approaches these in such a light hearted way.

Unfortunately I DNFd this at around 20% I didn't enjoy it and felt like it wasn't going anywhere. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this

3.5 stars. This book follows the journey of Becca along two different timelines based on whether she makes the split second decision on whether to reply to a text from an ex or not. I enjoyed how the book showed how these decisions didn’t just impact on Becca’s life but also the small differences it had on the lives of those closest to her. I think the story was well done to keep the two storylines distinct yet not make it feel like two separate stories. I also like how the ending was written and the differences between the endings of each timeline.

There were some slight plot errors that slightly bugged me such as her not having her phone but in the line before she had replied to a text message, or having conflicting statements over whether she was crying or not. All in all though I enjoyed the book and liked seeing how this story played out.

Thank you to Netgalley and Randomhouse for the ARC in exchange for an honest review

I wasn’t sure what to expect with Lovestruck as it was my first experience of Laura Jane Williams but oh what a page turner! I’ve already purchased another of her books.

Should Becca text her ex back or should she not? The story takes you on a journey through the two possible outcomes to this scenario with the idea that both paths will still lead you exactly to where you’re meant to be as life has a funny way of working out.

I’ll be honest, it did take me until halfway through the book to realise each chapter worked in this way but I’m not sure if that can be blamed on the author or my tired mind!

By the end, I felt so invested in every single character as LJW made each of them feel so real. The way they interacted and the things they would say felt realistic and relatable.

I can Lovestruck being a huge hit when it’s released on 8th June. Thank you Penguin Random House and NetGalley for letting me experience my first ever ARC!

Unfortunately I didn't finish this book. I was a fan of Laura before this book and will continue to be one, but thus book just didn't hit the mark for me. I jumps between both love stories was clear, but I thought other things were confusing, e.g. characters being named with no introduction.

Becca is more then ready to meet mister right. She in her thirties, has an established business, good friends but she’s ready for the one. At a manifestation ceremony she puts this out there and a few minutes later her ex Mike texts her. He’s the one that got away but should she go there again? From here the story breaks up into two paths one where she texts Mike back and another where she doesn’t. And the reader gets to follow along with both paths.

Mike and Becca have history, he moved away for work which lead to things ending without resolving things. Now he’s back and dealing with some pretty heavy stuff and Becca tries her best to be there for him. In another universe Becca instead meets Noah. He’s a younger novelist and their relationship is passionate moves rather quickly.

I find the multiple universe theory to be very intriguing. And it does make for a really interesting storyline. I imagine I would have liked it even more had I not recently read Maybe in another life by Taylor Jenkins Reid because there are many similarities between the two. Except for the endings. I don’t want to spoil anything but I’d like to think you could find love in many different ways and places.

In Lovestruck you do get that happily ever after feel but it felt a little rushed and out of the blue. Becca just seemingly out of the blue realized her true feelings. I understand why the author decided to write the ending like that.

Something I loved is Jia Li and Carlos, Becca’s friends and coworkers. They’re such a fun group! I would recommend this one to those who like contemporary fiction and romance. A solid 3,5 stars in my opinion.

Lovestruck is a love story in two parts which ultimately follows Becca on her hunt for Mr Right. We follow two different timelines - one where Becca rekindles things with her ex boyfriend, and another where she blocks his attempt to get in touch and instead starts up a relationship with a famous author. In both narratives we see Becca and her suitors’ relationships develop, and ultimately looks at whether fate and destiny really play a part in finding romantic happiness.

I loved seeing the different timelines and the differences and similarities between them both - plus the nods to either like the authors book appearing in the opposite timeline. I love Laura’s writing and this felt more confident and assured than her previous books and reminded me of Lindsey Kelk with the humorous elements woven in beautifully.

A suitable ending for an enjoyable read. Whilst I could put this book down, the mundaneness of the characters allowed for a charming read.

After wishing for her Mr Right to appear, Becca receives a text from her ex. What happens next is a sliding doors moment. One story is that she answers the text, and the other story is that she doesn't. Both stories told in parallel and will leave you wondering right up until the final chapters who is the right Mr Right.

Liked this one a lot! It was such a rollercoaster with a bit of 'Sliding Doors' vibe to it. I was rooting all along for Becca to find love but wasn't entirely sure what was going to happen. Absolutely delighted she found it just standing next to her! ❤️

I absolutely loved this book! It was my first Laura Jane Williams book and it will not be my last. I loved the two timelines, especially the cheeky little crossovers between them. The characters were so well written, it’s one of the very few romcom books where it wasn’t immediately obvious who I was supposed to root for!
Becca’s friends were absolutely brilliant and often had me laughing out loud with their banter. I read most of the book with a big cheesy grin on my face!

I’m obsessed with this book!!
I loved the romance and the split timeline. I found the concept so interesting because who doesn’t love a “what if I” storyline. Laura shows us just how differently life can look and that’s ok!

I loved the emphasis on the friendships in this book. All the characters feel like my friends and I was sooo invested in them!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! Interestingly, it’s written across 2 timelines which I found intriguing to show how the tiniest of actions/decisions could change your life.

The characters were well-developed and likeable, each with their own backstory to make them 3D, and I liked that some of their story was meant for them, whichever timeline was chosen.

I would definitely recommend this read to others, especially if you’re a fan of the genre.

Unfortunately I wasn't a fan of this story, I found it quite corny and wasn't able to make it all the way through.

What a fabulous book! I love everything about romances so was chuffed to be given an arc for this!

Becca is a hairstylist in her own salon in her mid thirties and she’s finally ready to settle down and find Mr Right. After a manifestation session in the salon she chooses to manifest the love of her life and not long after she gets a text from her ex. Is this a sign?

This story is written across two timelines - one where Becca reunites with her ex where she decides to answer the text and the other where she doesn’t answer the text.

I absolutely love a story on two different timelines. It really makes you realise how different your life can be from making one small decision. This story is easy to follow, hilarious at times and really makes you feel like you are reading about real people. I loved all the characters in the book and felt like I could be part of Becca’s friendship group! A fabulous easy story which I would recommend!

This was my first LJW book and I don’t think it will be my last. I enjoyed the character description and the settings of each timeline. However, sliding doors timelines really aren’t my thing and I find it all a bit confusing and distracting from one story.

“Lovestruck” by Laura Jane Williams is such a sweet story. A story, like only Laura Jane Williams would write it. Incredible! If you have read and loved Laura Jane Williams books, this one is definitely a must-read for you!

Becca Calloway is ready to find her perfect match. But who is he? When she receives a text from her ex, she knows it is a sign, but which way is it pointing? Should she go back to Mike? Or should she look for a new man? In the book, you will get both answers.

I love the characters in this book. Especially Becca's friends. I absolutely adore them. They seem like genuinely good people, and give helpful and honest advice for Becca. They have their opinions, which they are willing to share. At the same time, they cheer Becca on.

Also, every character we meet in this story has a background story and seems like people with true human emotions and thoughts. That gives the story so much more depth. They are like real people. Even if you do not find the storyline interesting, I would recommend that you read the story just for the characters.

I absolutely love the idea of the story being split into two different stores. One, where Becca texts Mike back, and one where she does not. At first, I did not seem to realize, but when I did, everything made so much sense, and I loved every bit of it. Such a creative idea. Also, is that not what we all want when we read a good story? To hear about the what-if’s.

This is a book that shows you that the decisions you make in your life always have consequences.

Do yourself a favor and read “Lovestruck” by Laura Jane Williams. You will not regret it!

A 'sliding doors' type book. But with a nice easy to follow plot and a surprising end. The end was not as straightforward as it seems and I liked that, it left you guessing. It's a really good idea as it's almost 2 books in one, and while there were a few heavier plot points they were nicely balanced out by some humour and fun scenes.
Her best friends are also great as not only are they the usual comic relief but they actually offer useful advice!
Really enjoyed this, would recommend

A sliding doors scenario which I love but the writing style wasn't for me. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book.
