A good romp between two parallel parts of one life - the one with the ex again and the one without him as a partner. Both tales could stand alone and Becca is a generally great hero in both. There is a bit of irritation about the weak decision making that grated a little but good weaving of the two lives and great friends to follow to.

Found this one a little difficult to get into the start with as the split story line was difficult to follow. HOWEVER, it was absolutely worth sticking with. I really enjoyed the similarities between the parallel universes and the cross overs.

4.5 stars - loved it!
Easy to read, lovely characters and an interesting plot with sliding doors narrative. A fab read which you can devour in one sitting.

I would like to thank the author, the publisher and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC of this book. I really enjoyed it and it was a great idea to have the two parallel stories, I will be recommending this book to everyone I know.

Oh I just absolutely loved this ❤️. Just what I needed to perk me up with the January blues beginning. The characters as always with Laura’s books are likeable. I was struggling to decide which reality I liked best but I did really like Noah. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters are likeable but not too perfect so you can believe in them. In both realities you can see why the MC would want to be with them so you weren't entirely sure of the outcome, although it was clear from very early on who should get the girl.

Would recommend!

I’m not usually fan of a book with a sliding doors type narrative, but this book had me hooked from the very beginning. The characters in this novel were wonderful and vivid. A particular favourite was Jia Li, her frank honesty and wry sense of humour leapt off the page. Our protagonist Becca is as much a joy and I was rooting for her throughout the entire book.

Through Becca’s journey Williams highlights the need to love yourself first before someone else. Through the different relationships in the book she highlights what good communication is, the scene between Betty and Becca towards the end was a particular favourite of mine. This was a very enjoyable book that explored how a decision can send your life on a different path.

Laura Jane, I do believe you have done it again!
I have enjoyed Williams' books so far, and this was so good.
Becca is a hair stylist and salon owner in her mid-thirties, worried that her time will pass by. A timely event at the salon includes a session with a woman who encourages manifestations.
Becca chooses to manifest the love of her life into her life as soon as possible.e.
Within hours she gets a text from her ex.
Is it a sign?
The story is told intriguingly, running along parallel timelines in two different scenarios.
One where she doesn't bother to answer the text and the other where she does...
I can't write too much about the story, but it is really well done!
I loved Becca's best friend, Jia Li, and her salon partner, Carlos.
The tension, as it builds in both storylines, is palpable, and oh, I couldn't wait to see how the end panned out in both versions. Great read!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House UK for an ARC.

4.5 stars. I didn’t know if I’d enjoy this book as I’m a stickler for a solid story rather than multiple options! However, I loved Becca and was fully invested in her life choices! A warm, witty, romantic tale with some lust thrown in too. An easy read but one that I couldn’t wait to get back to every evening to see what would happen. I will definitely read what Laura Jane Williams writes next.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s a sliding doors story, where two parallel stories happen depending on one action happening or not. My only gripe is that one timeline is much better than the other, so I can only hope that is the “real” one, although the outcome isn’t affected for Becca.

This is very well written and the supporting cast are very realistic and likeable. The protagonist, Becca, is very relatable.

I recommend this for anyone who likes a good romance, a shrewd view of relationships with friends, lovers and family, and for anyone who has ever wondered “what if”.

I have enjoyed all of Laura Jane William's books so far and this one did not disappoint. It's the story of Becca and how one choice can lead you on different paths. I loved it.

This is a rich, funny and sweet romance. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am extremely grateful to the publisher for this ARC, via NetGalley. Five stars.

This is a five-star read that will strike you right in the feels. I simply adore this author and am always eager to sink my teeth into what they write, but this time I don’t know there was a little extra sparkle to the story, a little extra heart and lots of good hair. This has it all, romance, drama and what ifs? what if you text back or don’t? what if you know who the farther is, but don’t want to share? There are a great bunch of characters in this story, they each play a different role and add something to the story, add another layer to the twists and turns of the life of Becca Calloway. What if your manifestation ceremony isn’t all woo-woo but real, well then you would be lovestruck for real, much like this story.

As massive LJW fan I SQUEALED when I saw the email come through that I’d been approved for a review copy of this 🤩🤩 and knew it would be my next read! LJW never disappoints and although this hasn’t been my favourite of hers, I really enjoyed it!

We see both choices of Becca’s pan out as in one life she chooses to reply to her ex and reignite their romance and in the other she chooses not to reply and keep looking. I actually forgot this was the premise when I had started reading and I think it’s very obvious early on who Becca ends up with, which took some of the excitement out it for me. I loved how each story was connected with different characters popping up in both “lives” and as always I love the characters in LJW’s books- they have character and personalities even when they’re not the main character.

It was a little confusing trying to remember what was happening in each life and I felt like there was almost 2 plots, one for the “what would happen if I did this” and one for the actual romance and it wasn’t until around 75% that we started to get the hints of that happy ending.

Overall a good read with a good take on a “what if” plot line and a nice fun romance!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the review copy. Ordinarily I wouldn’t be a fan of a sliding doors structure where various possibilities of a person’s life unfolds to underscore the idea that there are pivotal points in everyone’s lives where choices made lead to a certain path. This infers regret and that really isn’t an emotion that is always healthy. But I have to say I was charmed and won over by this particular novel, both by its absorbing storyline, or should I say storylines, and the confident writing that contained a light touch of humour. It’s a one sitting kind of book that provides great enjoyment that always should be on anyone’s list who reads just to have that ‘ahh’ kind of break. The story centres around Becca, who in her mid-thirties feels as though her wish to have a man permanently in her life as well as children will never happen. After a ‘why not’ manifestation ceremony with her friends that sends that desire into the world she gets a text from her ex boyfriend who she hasn’t seen in five years since he moved to New York to start up a business, leaving her behind. The question of whether she should text him back or not is pivotal for Becca and the decision can lead her on two very separate paths, or do they? The exploration of both paths find Becca learning much about herself and relationships and what she values most in life. Though occasionally I found that I wasn’t sure about what details belonged in which path, it certainly didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the novel.

Absolutely loved this one! Can’t wait to acquire and add it to our womens fiction. Becca was such a great character it was so fun to follow if her manifesting was the watt to go or the old flame who first stole her heart. Very cute read! I breezed through it.

This isn't one love story. It's two.

Becca Calloway is calling it: she's ready for Mr Right, and she's ready now.

She even goes as far as to hold a manifestation ceremony for him - and when she receives a text from her ex five minutes later, she knows it's a sign.

The problem is, she doesn't know which way it's pointing...

Should Becca reply and reignite things with her old flame Mike? Or delete and block, moving forward with the new man in her life?

Becca has one choice, with two ways this could go. And in Lovestruck, you're about to see them both..

LJW can do no wrong in my humble opinion and this brilliantly written novel only supports my theory. Smart, witty, emotional and fabulous. Highly recommend!

Laura Jane Williams has a knack for writing characters with so much depth, whilst making them feel so human - they acknowledge and accept their flaws and allow it to make them better people. The love interests are always men with more green flags than red and the heroines are able to articulate and embrace their emotions in such a beautiful way. She shows what true communication looks like - highlighting the need to not settle and be sure you’re in love with yourself, before accepting another. And she does this again, perfectly, in Lovestruck.

In this book you get hope, possibility and the feeling that there isn’t one right path for anybody to choose from. Life is complicated, full of lots of little decisions that can change our trajectory, but at the end of the day 1) we need to make sure we’re being true to ourselves and making sure we’re happy and 2) trust we’ll always end up where we belong in the end.

In true LJW fashion, there’s a whole host of wonderfully developed side characters to fall in love with!

One thing that made this book extra special for me was the fact it was set in Kings Heath - I place I spent two years of my life in my first job out of uni.

Thank you NetGalley and Cornerstone for the ARC.

I recently received an ARC for Lovestruck and, having enjoyed a previous book from the same author, I dove straight in.

The story focuses on Becca, who receives an out of the blue text from her ex one day. The book then follows two timelines; one where Becca responded to the text, and one where she didn’t.

Lovestruck was an extremely easy read. However, although I enjoyed it, I didn’t love it. I didn’t really care much for the characters and I felt like it just missed the mark slightly.

This was a nice and easy read. It’s a perfect holiday read. I loved the 2 separate times line and how it comes back to what’s meant to be is meant to be.
