The Right Wavelength is a heartwarming contemporary romance about self-discovery and figuring out how to navigate life when you feel out of sync with the world. The story follows Lorna, a 30-something radio producer in London, who’s always felt different from everyone around her. When a comment from a guest at the station sends her on a journey of self-understanding, her life gets even more complicated with the return of her old school crush, Finn.
The romance is sweet, but what really makes this book stand out is Lorna’s personal journey. Her struggles with feeling different are relatable, and the story does a great job of exploring the challenges of self-acceptance. The balance between Lorna’s growing feelings for Finn and her own self-discovery makes the book feel authentic and emotionally satisfying.
Overall, it’s a lovely read that blends romance with a meaningful story about finding yourself first before you can truly find love.
From the title, the cover to the brilliant little details in this story. This book literally had it all. I really enjoyed it.
A very timely, especially when it comes to women. I think it was written with care and delicacy, just what was needed for what can be such a difficult subject.
Apart from that also a lovely romance novel that made me smile.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.
I really loved this book. Loved Lorna, and Finn, and Lorna's journey of self discovery. The scene where she discusses food with her mother is particularly moving.
This is a really lovely book about self discovery, and finding your true self. It is funny and moving and easy to relate to.
Lorna seems to have it all. She has a very cool job on the radio, she has a gorgeous house to call.her very own, and she is surrounded by lots of cool friends and looks completely different to her old mousey self. However on the inside Lorna feels like a bit of a fraud. She feels like she is trying far too hard and she feels like a little bit of a fraud. She feels wrongfooted like she doesn't really know what she wants from life and that she doesn't have anything figured out. It is at this point that Lorna is invited to a school.reunion where she meets up with her old crush Finn. is the connect still there and do the sparks still fly well you will just have to read it to find out.
A great read.
Lorna works on radio and is persuaded by her friends and colleagues to go to her high school reunion. She re-connects with Finn - will her teenage crush lead to more?
Looking forward to more books from this author.
"The Right Wavelength" by Amber Crewe is a charming contemporary romance novel about two people who meet and fall in love on the radio waves.
A quick, easy and cute read that also touched on some powerful issues such as adults living with autism and what this means for them. I really enjoyed it
I really enjoyed the representation in this book, and being able to see Lorna grow more as a person throughout the story. I felt like the book dragged a bit and was kind of hard to get through. So much character build up in the beginning was great for future understanding, but slow moving. To be completely honest, the writing style of this book isn’t really my type, but I loved the storyline.
Thank you to Netgalley and Octopus Books for the arc!
3.5/5
This took me way longer than expected to read but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I feel it dragged on in some parts at the beginning but overall it was a nice book!
an interesting and representative read, I have chosen to give it 3 stars because whilst I enjoyed it, nothing in particular stood out to me.
So stinking cute. But also really emotional, and a powerful portrayal of autism in adults, especially women. I pretty much read this in a day because I couldn’t put it down. I usually hate the lack of an epilogue in novels, but the ending in this was perfect ❤️
Thank you for the honor, privilege, and opportunity to rread, eview , and acquire this book. Full review and thoughts to come soon. I love the tagline on this book.
“Sometimes you need to find yourself before you're ready to find The One.”
Isn’t that the truth? I feel it’s such an obvious yet hard lesson for so many of us to learn. I could relate so much to Lorna. Especially when it states Everything is so much more difficult for her than it seems to be for everyone else. What a great statement, I am so excited to see how things turn out for Lorna and if she lands up with Finn the boy she never got over, Weve all been there. I know I most certainly have.

From the outside, Lorna has everything sorted. A cool job in radio, a home to call her own, plenty of friends. And anyone would be happy to attend their school reunion if they'd had the kind of post-adolescent glow up she's managed to pull off. Library Lorna is no more, and this new Lorna is 100%, definitely over her teenage crush on Finn, the most popular boy in school.
But on the inside, Lorna's got to admit she is trying too hard. is - and fast, now that Finn is back in her life and she's finally got a chance of getting everything she's ever dreamed of.
