Not great. Saved by the dark humour. The policeman is hilarious, Aldo is funny, as well.
I am not sorry I read it, but I can't recommend it to anyone, either.
It's quite dark. The art is not bad, actually, if you like this particular style.
Gritty + ridiculous - eye-rolling. I kept thinking, "Really??!"
I was drawn in by the cover but the content didn't keep my attention. A bit too fast faced and predictable to me. Quick read but not something I would heavily recommend.
I really enjoyed, lo recomiendo si te gustan estos tipos de libros.
Thank u Netgalley for the copy.
I enjoyed A Taste for Blood. The art is fun, and while the narrative relies fairly heavily on stereotypes, it was solid. If you are looking for a character study tangled up in gangsters and murder, you should pick this up immediately.
Thanks to NetGalley and its author for providing me with an advanced copy of this book

A man got involve to Mafia group and they are trying to kill him, his pet and to her. But something will happen through the story.

..
3.0
This was an enjoyable read, it was funny and fast paced. But it was also a little bit rushed at parts. It was an interesting concept and well executed. I love the art style, it was cartoony and full of vibrant colours, especially the blood.
I gave this 3 stars because although it didn’t particularly thrill me, it was fun and kept my attention. I would recommend this graphic novel and will be looking for others by this author.
Thank you to the publisher for this review copy.
This was an okay read. I liked the art style. It reminded me of the Cartoon section that used to be in newspapers. The plot was easy to follow and predictable in parts, but still a solid read.
*received for free from netgalley for honest review* This was... something else lol, found a lot of humor in it. Would actually buy this!
Black comedy graphic novel, where a mobster gets out of jail after being ignored by his Family for the nine years of his stretch, only to crash his car and end up at the farmhouse home of an elder single woman – single because she offed her husband and he's still in the freezer. That's not the only death to occur on the farm, but when two goons see the bodies, they immediately fall under the assumption our 'hero' is undertaking a parade of heinous revenge killings against the Mob...
It's not the most complex and subtle read, but this case of mistakenly attributed murder, and the fact it's the dark horses and the still waters you have to avoid, is actually good fun. So much fun in fact I can imagine the Coen Brothers making a right pig's ear out of filming it – Frances McDormand would be the farmer's wife, someone goofily cast against type would be the hero, and there would be no end of OTT and semi-inept Mob assassins for their friends to play. I however would happily stick with this original – it never once aims for the beautiful, but it's an attractively dark piece, played for nicely-judged laughs and toying with the Mafioso stereotype in pleasingly light-hearted fashion. A strong four stars.
Insanely fast paced and short. While I’m all for a fast book, this was just a little too fast. With so much speed it’s hard to even get to know a character or really enjoy the story. The graphics weren’t bad.
This comic had an interesting premisse but unfortunately it was too short and fast paced to be well executed. You have no time to connect with any characters and honestly to even believe the story. The art is okay but nothing that could save this. It's a no from me.
With a dramatic and caricature-esque art style reminiscent of class Sunday comics, "A Taste for Blood" is a fun, gory mess of murderous shenanigans. As a graphic novel, it does move at a quick pace and while overall, this works well with the plot, I would've liked to see more of Lou's backstory as she was easily the most compelling character yet the story was not centered on her as much. I did also feel that the ending was a bit rushed, though it was left open-ended enough for future sequels.
A Taste for Blood was an exciting and dark story that had me interested from start to finish. I wasn't sure what to expect going in but I loved the way the story went and the way the end was left open to more installments or a continuation. I loved the premise of the killer not being who you'd expect in a story like this and the deviation from the norm was refreshing.
A taste for blood was a different kind of graphic novel. I didn't like it at first but as I continued reading the characters grew on me.
This was a very interesting manga. I think it was a little random at times but I did like the progression throughout the book. I loved the art style and the colours Holly popped and they caught your attention. I would recommend other people reading this because it pulls you in that keeps you caught for the whole book, but I felt like there was something missing and there wasn’t really any grit. Any substance really tell a story other than something very surface level.
Not great not terrible.. Interesting story , reminds me of Fargo.
I enjoyed it.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!
This was an insightful and inspiring story of how a young boy grew up in a difficult time in Turkey. This was something which I enjoyed reading about and is leading me to read further into his difficulties and what life was like during that time. I felt that I was part of his story and was getting a truly inspiring birds eye view of how he had a dream, squashed this for his parents and then went back to this again when he was truly unhappy with his life. I really felt the emotions that he has felt and will be recommending this to my friends who want an emotional and different approach to a non fiction story.
It’s a bit like watching a violent action movie, I suppose! Perfect fit if you are in the mood for it. It’s very stylish and reads easily, but not particularly deep plot
-wise.
A little bit too much for my interest. I also felt like a lot of the sound effects in the panels didn't really fit what was happening very well or weren't the right "sound" bubble for that spot. The graphics are really impressive and really show the gore and violence of the novel. Definitely an interesting read!
I was so happy for this title and had high expectations since the premise sounded sooo interesting. But i was really let down by it. I felt like the plot was very predictable, which I would have looked past if the characters were okay, But they were not, not even close, I didn't like any of them. Also i really didn't like the art style. I guess i just wasn't the target audience for this. There wasn't anything particular i hated, but i didn't like any point of the book
