Cult is the second book in the series featuring Detective Mina Dabiri and Mentalist Vincent Walder. I loved the first book, Trapped, and was excited to dive into this next book. I am pleased to say this one didn’t disappoint and in fact was even better. The story itself is complex, gruesome, mysterious and chilling. The book itself is quite long and this helped to allow for time to develop a complex, layered plot and two utterly brilliant main characters. I loved that both the main characters as a result of their own trauma histories have developed responses and ways of being that impact on their ability to function and have relationships. Their relationship is one of the main reasons that I adored these books. I can’t wait to see how this develops further over subsequent books. I’ve read some of Camilla Lackberg before but feel this series far exceeds everything else she has written. Henrik Fexeus is a mentalist himself and I think this makes Vincent’s character feels very realistic. I love magic, illusion and mentalists so this one was right up my alley. If you’re a fan of the tv show, The Mentalist, you will love this one.

I was so excited to eb reunited with these characters and this book didn't disappoint.
I am so invested in Mira and Vincent and love everything about them. They're such unique and original characters and they just interact so well. I could read books based on them for hours
The plot of this book was so complex and well written. There are so many twists and turns and you absolutely have no idea where the plot is going from one moment to the next. In sayk g that, it never gets confusing or fussy
I can't wait to read more of these tales, highly recommended

I was so thrilled to receive an early copy of this book I had read and loved the first of the series and I couldn’t wait for the next book and wow was it worth the wait it was an amazing read.
The book starts with a reported kidnapping of a young boy from his nursery and Mina Dabiri is called to the scene to investigate. Whilst investigating the case Mina feels that some things just don’t add up and calls upon her friend Vincent who she hasn’t been in contact with since her last big case for help. When Vincent finds a connection in a strange set of clues between this case and other very similar ones the team all realise they is much more to this case than anyone guessed.
I think what makes this and the previous book stand out is the ongoing friendship between Mina and Vincent, both are complex characters and I absolutely love the rapport between them the dialogue made me laugh out loud many times and can’t wait for the next book to see just where this friendship is leading. There are also other storylines in the the book involving other members of the team and again this makes this read much more than your average thriller, the people in the book feel very real and again I just can’t wait to see where their stories are going also.
So a complex plot with puzzles that had my head spinning, numerous things happening in the story and a rollercoaster of a ride throughout it’s a stunning piece of writing and I absolutely adored everything about it and am desperately hoping the wait won’t be too long till the next book.
Many many thanks to the two authors Camilla Lackberg and Henrik Fexeus what a superb team they are with their out of this world writing long may they continue to produce such outstanding reads.
My thanks also to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK for giving me the opportunity to read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
