A lustrous story that had me laughing out loud. It's so hot that it's smokin'! I was thrilled with the plot it's definitely one of my favourite rom com.

I really wanted to like this, I kept pushing through and I definitely didn’t hate the narrative voice but it was just too much of a slowburn for me that I really couldn’t see how they would ever fall for each other.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I loved Max, he was a great character and I hoped that he would have a happy ever after. However I did not like Paige very much and I didn't enjoy reading the parts of the book that she heavily featured in.
I also thought that there was too much detail about everything that Max was seeing doing and thinking.
There were lots of funny moments, and I liked the song lyric conversations.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my ARC.

This was a very cute read and had lots of laughs too. I liked the characters and would recommend for those who are looking for a fun read

This book is special. A brilliant concept written so perfectly. I feel in love woth the characters straight away and was rooting for them all the way through

Took a while to get involved in but this is a good book and well worth reading. Definitely pick it up and give it a go

First book I have read by this author and I will deffinately read more.
This book had great likable charaters was enjoyable and easy to read.
Loved it

I would rather this book be called 'Best Friends'. For one, romance is just a side plot while the evolving relationship of Max and Paige takes centre stage. It is also Max Moody's story where Chasten, for sure, has a part to play, but all the same, it is also about Max finding his life's calling. He is such an endearing character it is hard not to like him. Funny, loyal and down to earth -- Max Moody is this and many more. Finding humour in the most awkward situations (the first encounter with Chasten, for instance) he pulls you along in this laugh-out-loud ride.
Max is one of the many things I loved about this book. A character-driven story like this cannot be enjoyed without someone like him. His friendship with Paige is really one of a kind and no wonder he felt threatened by Chasten's arrival in the scene. Chasten is the ideal gay guy, outgoing and smart to boot in contrast to Max who doesn't enjoy crowded events. While their chemistry is undeniable, I am a bit sceptic about Max-Chasten relationship. The whole thing works on the opposites attract concept, but will it make them stick together for an eternity?
So I demand a sequel. I am curious how it turned out for both of them. The road ahead is bound to be bumpy, but that's just another story I can't wait to sink my teeth into.

Absolutely loved this book!
Sidney Karger you are amazing!
I was hooked throughout and couldn't put this book down.
Thank you for accepting my ARC request.

Max Moody, our protagonist, lives in New York City and works in HR. When he's not working, he spends his time eating at Waverly diner with his best friend Paige and trying to restart the spark with his ex-boyfriend Greg.
Paige and Max grew up in Chicago together and have been inseparable since childhood. When Paige tells Max that she's engaged to her handsome and wealthy boyfriend Austin, Max's dreams of marital bliss comes crashing down into his mind. He always wanted that, but with Greg wanting NSA fun (no-strings attached) after many years of being monogamous, Max's wish becomes a pipe dream. However, things become a bit more complicated after Max is introduced to Austin's younger brother, Chasten, who looks so familiar. As the group plans the wedding, Max realizes that dealing with Chasten will be harder than he thought.
This book is so funny! I actually want to call it a comedy-romance because Karger's wit shines through the pages.
No surprise to find out that the author is a writer/director/ producer and has worked for Saturday Night Live and Comedy Central. The book is laugh out loud funny, with both a romantic edge that I haven't seen in a romance novel yet. BEST MEN also does an impeccable job highlighting New York City as its own character. The author got every single hotspot, location, and atmospheric element to this city I call home perfectly. If you are a hopeless romantic, want a hilarious MM romantic comedy, love NYC or always wanted to feel the energy of it, BEST MEN is the book for you!
Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with this ARC!

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.
My first book by this author and I loved it. Max thought he had everything figured out and is the gay best friend of Paige. They grew up next door to each other, Paige thought they would be a couple until Max came out as gay, Paige is getting married and asks Max to be her man of honor. Little does he know the brother of her future husband is his previous one nightstand. Max struggles to ignore the chemistry between them. Will they trust the sparks and become a couple?

A charming story with a happy ending. This book took a while for me to get into, but had a lovely story and believable characters. Lovely.

This book - oh my heart!
Excellent beach read. Quick and easy read with all the feels!
Max's life is somewhat stale - his job, his relationship, his life. And his BFF is getting married. Paige has been getting cozy with her soon to be brother-in-law- Max can't squash the jealousy. Until they meet.
A slow burn romance. Intense comedy. A must read!

I really liked the idea behind this, but I didn't think it worked as well in the actual execution as it did as a blurb. You're not ever really given a reason to like any of the main characters, or understand them. You see everything from Max's PoV but he's super negative and a bit whiny - you don't understand why Chasten would want to be with him - or why Paige is his friend. BUT Paige is also awful. Max clearly hates his job and is having a horrible time of it - but no where in the book do you see Paige asking him about his work or even showing any awareness that he has other stuff going on beyond brunches and her wedding. And then you don't see enough of Chasten really to understand why he and Max work together.
If this were a screenplay/movie it might have got away with this - because you don't really see a lot of the characters' inner lives in screenplays, but as a book and when you're spending the whole time with one character, I found it really hard going. I did read to the end though - just to see how it ended up for Max beyond the romance - and it had some fun dialogue so it wasn't a total bust, but it just wasn't really for me. Hey ho.

Oh, this is such a cute romcom! I love romcoms set in the backdrop of other people's weddings and this one did not disappoint at all. I had so much fun reading this and I'd definitely pick up another book from this author!

This was a simple, enjoyable, quick read. The ideal book to read on vacation, at the beach, or by the pool. This is the author's first book for me, and I enjoyed it. I would read more of their work. Our protagonist Chasten is highly distinctive in his thoughts, occasionally losing himself in recollections and making some fantastic but sometimes overly broad associations. His best friend, on the other hand, was quite unusual, albeit in a less obnoxious way. Perhaps it was because we only met her a few times in the novel's first half but spent every second with Max. We accompany him to and from work, home to meet Paige and have sex with Greg. In general, I appreciated every aspect of his existence. The backstories of a dozen people Max had to let go at work even irritated me a little.

3.75⭐
Overall I liked this book, sometimes I found the main character a little annoying. Also felt like some scenes were rushed and I wanted more of it, and other times there was a tonne of description/detail about things I wasn't too interested in/didn't add to the overall plot
I really liked the parts where Max and Chasten were alone together, their relationship was really fun and cute
There's images of texts/playlists/lists of things related to the story at the end of each chapter and I thought it was a really nice touch and fun
- LGBT
- slow burn
- romcom

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this book
sorry to say it didnt catch my attention at all...i did try but alas it beat me sorry

Such a funny book! I laughed my way through this read and I loved it! Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for early access to this book.

I completely understand why Sidney Karger got a book deal. Best Men was funny in an understated way, Reading this book was like watching a comedy show without the prerecorded laughs. Especially during the first quarter of the story, I was continually in stitches, laughing my head off. The second and third quarter were another kind of fun, where we see how much chemistry there is and grows between our best men. I appreciate this so much, not many authors dare to take the time to do this.
I kind of didn't like Paige, she was annoying, self-centered and she actually treated Max like a side-kick. On the other hand, this story had so much depth, that I can easily imagine Max and Paige fixing this at some point in their lives. That's how real the characters felt to me.
I also like how obviously this story was written by a guy,
In short, Best Men is wildly addictive, very funny and perfectly life-like.
