Frieda McFadden writes on a level that brings a whole new reading experience. Housemaid secrets is a terrific follow up to The Housemaid, the twist are suspenseful and edgy. Just when you think you have it figured out, bam it’s not what you were thinking at all. I love that this author writes in a way that you don’t exactly figure the plot out, I love the surprise of confusion, thinking you know how it’ll end and Your completely wrong.

W O W!!!! OH MY GOOOOOODDDD!!!! WHAT DID I JUST READ????? THE NEURONS ARE FIRING LIKE CRAZY IN MY BRAIN RIGHT NOW!! Sounds like fireworks!! (And it is New Year’s Eve after all !!) HAHA What a wild ride that was!!! I didn’t think Freida could possibly top the Housemaid (which is pretty much my favourite book), but she ACTUALLY REALLY DID!!!
Okay firstly, you must read The Housemaid first even though this is a standalone book, but it’ll be more enjoyable for you if you do as you’ll appreciate having the background knowledge. This book had everything that Freida is a master at giving us!!!! That being: totally relatable characters, a crazy and unique story, shocking twists and turns galore, tons of humour and a book that just flies by so much so that you literally CANNOT put it down because you just HAVE to know what’s going to happen next!! How many books can do that??? NOT MANY TRUST ME!!! So be prepared to get absolutely no work done in your house or office, because everything else will literally be put on the back burners whilst you get sucked into this whirlwind of a STELLAR BOOK!!
I don’t want to give any spoilers away AT ALL, because I was one of the very lucky people who received an ARC in exchange, for my honest opinion, so I’m just going to tell you that do believe all the hype because this REALLY is as good as everyone is saying!!!
⭐️ 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 5/5 100% A+ !!!
Thank you Freida McFadden, Netgalley and Bookcouture for your generosity to so many of us lucky readers, BTW I will still totally be buying the paperback as soon as it comes out in February so that I can add it to my collection!!
PS Hollywood: YOU MUST turn The Housemaid and The Housemaid’s Secret into a movie for us!!! It will be a total blockbuster I promise you!!

Loved this book ! It was great to come back to Millie and see her and Enzo get their HEA! I also loved that the NYPD changed their tune towards Millie and know believe in her!

📚 Book Review 📚 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Housemaid’s Secret by Freida McFadden
*book to be released in February 💕 BIG THANK YOU to NetGalley, Freida and Bookouture for the ARC!!!
Hold my firecracker 🧨 while I run 🏃🏼♂️ screaming 😱 at this bombshell 💣 🐚 of a book!!! Frieda is so great at the build ups, twists and turns! 🥦
Millie is back in our lives after she graced us in The Housemaid earlier this year and she has even more drama in her life that has you holding your book tighter, begging your dog to give you a few more minutes of peace so you can read!
Millie is a housemaid that not only helps around the house but she’s also a fixer when it comes to domestic abuse. When she realizes that her newest employer’s wife is always sick and locked in the guest room, she is determined to find out what’s going on.
The perfect book to end 2022!!!

I loved this book almost as much as I loved the first one!! The plots were similar, but I always appreciate a good twist! Thanks NetGalley for the ARC!

Absolutely loved this book! Once again Freida McFadden does not disappoint!
Thank you Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

Absolutely loved this sequel to The Housemaid! I was so excited to see where Millie’s story would pick up from the ending of The Housemaid. Zero disappointment here!! Freida McFadden immediately caught my attention (per usual) and kept me guessing until the very end!
Thank you so much @netgalley & —- for this ARC of The Housemaid’s Secret!
𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙨𝙮𝙣𝙤𝙥𝙨𝙞𝙨: Millie gets hired by Douglas Garrick, a rich and successful CEO, to do housework in his penthouse. His wife, who is very ill, stays locked away in their guest bedroom. Douglas always warns Millie not to disturb his wife, Wendy, but Millie can’t help but worry that something isn’t quite right.

Wow! I mean wow!! Freida, you really outdid yourself. This was fantastic!! I had such a fun time reading it. Was great to see Millie again and see what shenanigans she would get up to next.

ARC Review: I couldn't wait to hear what Millie was up to following our first adventure with her, and Freida did not disappoint. Just when I thought I knew what would come next, I was kept guessing right to the very last page.
McFadden definitely has a way of pulling you in from the start and keeps you attached through every last twist.

Let me first say that I am a HUGE Freida fan. But, this book was a tiny bit of a disappointment. One of the things I love about her books are that I usually can’t figure the twist at all and I guessed this one pretty soon. But, it was still a fun little thriller and there was a nice twist at the very, very end. Overall, I did enjoy reading more of Millie’s story.

Millie gets a job as a housemaid working for Douglas Garrick and his wife Wendy in their amazing penthouse apartment, however Douglas tells Millie not to disturb his wife in the guestroom as she is ill and Millie soon suspects that something is going on. When she hears crying and sees blood spots, she gets concerned for Wendy's safety and knows she will do anything to help. But her helpfulness has got her into a lot of trouble in the past - how far will she go this time?
Another fantastic book by Freida McFadden, this was one of the best books I've read. An exciting and tense plot with shocking twists and turns, just brilliant!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.

Yet another excellent read from Freida McFadden! She has become an automatic read author for me, meaning buy/read her books as soon as I can get my hands on a copy.
In the follow up to The Housemaid we are back with Millie who has garnered a reputation for helping women in difficult domestic situations. She is working for a new family, the Garricks, and clearly the wife needs her help.
In ways that only Freida McFadden can write, the twists in this book send you on a roller coaster. Every time you think you have it figured out, assume you are wrong. Extremely well written. I may have liked this one better than the first.
Thank you to the author, NetGalley, and Bookouture for the advance reader copy. I am leaving my honest review.

Y’all The Housemaid’s Secret was a fun read! This book picks up a few years after The Housemaid. Millie is once again desperate to find a job and willing to overlook iffy circumstances for an employer that will ignore her rocky past.
You’d think the girl would have learned something, but obviously not! That might actually be my biggest problem with The Housemaid’s Secret. It feels like Millie learned nothing from her previous problems and just continues making stupid decisions. The first part of this was a little bit slower than I expected, but it eventually drew me in. I found the writing engaging, the twists fun, and the chapters were perfectly short!
All in all, I enjoyed this book! Four stars!
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. The Housemaid’s Secret publishes on February 20, 2023.

After discovering Freida McFadden two months ago I knew I wanted to read all of her books.
If you liked The Housemaid, you will love The Housemaid's Secret.
Millie is a unique character, with a shady past. She is unpredictable, and not a person you want on your bad side. Character development for her was interesting because we see bits and pieces of what makes Millie tick, and glimpses of her past, but never fully get the whole picture. I feel like there's so much more to Millie than we've seen.
Like the previous book, The Housemaid, this story gives readers an unsettling twist. It was clever and unpredictable. The unique plot twist added originality and gives the reader something to think about.
The pace was very good, well drawn out without becoming slow. It had me guessing and wanting to know where this was going.
I enjoy books with a twist, and Freida McFadden has nailed this aspect of writing.
Great book. I will recommend this to friends and family, as well as various social media apps.

Millie has a secret life; she has spent a lot of time in the past helping women escape their abusive partners. But she has left all of that behind to put herself through school to become a social worker and be with her new boyfriend Brock. When Douglas Garrick calls her to work as a cleaning person for his sickly wife Wendy, she jumps at the chance to earn extra income. There’s just one stipulation: don’t ever go into his wife’s room. One day, Millie can’t help but knock on the door when she hears a strange sound. What she discovers behind it ends up being more shocking than anything she has ever seen before.
I loved The Housemaid, so I was beyond excited to see Millie’s story continue. Though this book can technically be read as a stand-alone, it’s more fun if you read the first book first. I loved getting Millie’s perspective as well as Wendy’s. As with all of Freida’s books, I devoured this! The story flowed easily and was so exciting I couldn’t put it down. And in true Freida fashion, there were several twists I didn’t see coming. I don’t know how she does it, but she never disappoints! I loved this book and if you enjoy twisty thrillers, you will too!
“The Housemaid’s Secret” is out NOW! This review will be shared to my Instagram blog (@books_by_the_bottle) shortly 😊

The Housemaid’s Secret is the perfect follow up to Millie’s life after her stay with the Winchesters. This book exceeded my expectations and as always Freida throws in unexpected twists as soon as you think you’ve figured it out. Freida delivers a captivating thriller as always!

I really enjoyed this sequel to The Housemaid. I liked how another character from the first book followed Millie to the second. I liked the twists and turns and how it all played out.

Buckle up for this sequel in the Housemaid series. Freida has done it again! Strongly recommend reading the Housemaid first to get the background info.
Millie is back on track to get her life in order, and unbeknownst to her, she's made herself quite a reputation.
I have never said,'Oh wow!' , 'no way!' , 'oh snap!' Outloud, in public, so many times. The way that Freida had laid everything out was so meticulous. My jaw was open throughout the last half of the book, no doubt.
If you want an easy read and fast paced thriller that will completely captivate you from the start - this is the one for you!
Thanks so much to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC - can't wait to share this after the release date.

This was my first Freida McFadden book. What I didn't know before reading it was that it was the second in 'The Housemaid' series. As soon as I finished this ARC, I downloaded the first book, and I read the both of them in two days!
This novel (and its predecessor) is fast and fun - it's not too long, it is somewhat formulaic, but it's done so WELL. I might call it a "comfort domestic noir thriller." Our heroine Millie gets caught up in dangerous situations, and she should probably have more fear than she does -- this time, she's attempting to rescue a woman being held hostage by her abusive, two-faced husband, both of whom happen to be her employers. Millie faces resistance the entire way, as well as struggles within her own relationships. The satisfying ending involves an unexpected "girl power" pairing - I loved it.
4/5 stars. Looking forward to reading many more by this author.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an early copy of The Housemaid’s Secret. I was beyond excited to hear this was a sequel and I got to review it, soooooooo could NOT wait and Boy what a DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! I mean what happened? The writing was very juvenile like and Millie was ridiculous!!! There was of course a twist halfway through that made it more interesting but a Major disappointment. Nothing like The Housemaid, sorry to say but pass on this one.
