Wow! I’m a big Freida McFadden fan and this book did not disappoint. This was the perfect sequel to the Housemaid and I truly hope Millie’s adventures aren’t over. I love the authors character development and overall dialogue. The twist was absolutely amazing and kept me guessing until the end. I absolutely recommend this book to everyone! If there is one book you need to read in 2023 it’s this one.

I finished the book in three hours.. and it’s prequel in a similar time… I think that gives a great indication on what a fantastic book it is! I’m off now to get Freida’s other books.

Loved this book! I was pulled in from the beginning and couldn’t put the book down. The plot was fast moving and characters were well developed and multidimensional; I could truly imagine the points of view from each character. Lots of believable and unexpected twists until the end. A must read for mystery & psychological thriller lovers!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of The Housemaid's Secret and it did not disappoint! Just when you think Freida can't do it again, she does.

This book has you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Love, murder and mystery all mixed into this rollercoaster ride of a book. Millie is becoming one of my favorite book characters to follow. When you start thinking you know where the book is going, nope! Think again. I couldn’t read fast enough. I just had to know where it was going so I couldn’tI put the book down. I highly recommend pre ordering the book so you don't have to wait long to enjoy it. Can't wait to see what Freida comes out with next.

When I noticed this book on offering through NetGalley and Bookouture I had to request an ARC. The success of the first book had come to my attention and I was curious about all the hype. I must say that this book was a definite page-turner and unlike a shortfall of many books in the domestic suspense genre it wasn't repetitive. So often it's a paranoia on repeat but this book didn't read like that at all. And for someone that didn't read book one I didn't feel lost along the way in this one. It can be read as a standalone. Recommend to fans of the genre.

The Housemaid was my first Freida McFadden book and I enjoyed it (what an ending!). This sequel is still very entertaining, but not as strong on the whole.

I enjoyed the plot and rich-people domestic setting in this breeze of a read. Millie continues to be a badass and I loved the return of a character from the first novel. The humour is also on point! Broccoli, anyone? But what this book does best is how it explores the stigma that ex-cons/those with a criminal record face. Props for that!

However, the abusive/toxic spouse trope seems overdone by this point and The Housemaid's Secret didn't really offer anything new or mind-blowing. I saw the twist coming right from the start, though there were still some small surprises.

But once again, the author ends on an applause-worthy note 👏 I have grown to love Millie more and more with each book, and can't wait to see what she gets up to next!

I loved this book so much! It was even better than the first housemaid book! I love Frieda’s dark humour that is evident in all her books and I love the twists. I always feel when I read one of freidas books that I have got it worked out, then bam a twist comes out of no where and I am completely shocked. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I read this book straight through in one sitting, and stayed up entirely too late to do so. It’s a very worthy sequel to The Housemaid, but it can also be read as a standalone. Lots of crazy twists and turns - I actually said “Wait, what?” out loud at a couple points in the book. Five stars, but I’d give it more if I could. Very highly recommended.

Super excited for this one, as the follow up to the original "The Housemiad" which I loved. I have read several books from this author before and they have all been 4-5 star reads for me, and this one, once again, did not disappoint.

Finishing this one in a day, it was hard to put down, keeping me interested the whole way through this thrilling ride.

We follow Millie the housemaid as she secures herself a new job at a penthouse apartment for millionaire tech genius Douglas Garrick.

But when he tells her not to open the guest bedroom door as his wife is ill, Millie can't help but need to know more about the woman behind that door. As the door creaks open and Millie finally sees inside, many twists and turns will have you racing to the finish line of this page turning thriller!

I rate this Ebook 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐stars and would recommend to those who enjoy their psychological thrillers!

The Housemaid’s Secret follows Millie, a girl who is struggling financially, has a record, and is desperate for work. Millie is offered a housekeeping job for once of the richest men in her city. When she starts working for him, she notices that his wife hides away in the spare bedroom and Millie becomes quite worried for her well-being. Millie is determined to find out what is going on, even though her boss keeps telling her to leave it alone.

This was a quick read for me! I always appreciate Freida’s style of writing: she writes short chapters, her writing is simple & her characters have a lot of depth. She is also great with twists and cliff hangers.

This story was engaging. I loved the “parts” of the story and that we read multiple POVs.

This particular story lacked surprise for me - I anticipated all of the twists except for one. Although I wasn’t shocked overall by the story line, I still really enjoyed it and would recommend reading it!

Make sure to read the first book of the series, The Housemaid, before reading this one.

sometimes the sequel does not live up to the first book, but then one is just as insane. plus, freida can do no wrong so there was no doubt this would be incredible. i can’t wait until february for everyone to read!!!!!!

Freida did it again! This is probably my favorite book so far of hers! So many unexpected twists - it kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t stop reading. So thankful for the opportunity to read it before its official release! Loved it!

Freida does it again! 5 ⭐️!!! This book picks back up with Millie as she continue to work for wealthy people and helps women in abusive situations out of the marriage. I read this book in TWO DAYS. It was fantastic. I’m a Freida reader for life. I really enjoy her stories and her unique writing style. She knows how to keep my heart racing! Look for this one in February of 2023…it will keep you up at night wanting to read just “one more chapter!”
