First, I'll say that this is a phenomenal book.

The author clearly states their foundational work and identification is in Wicca. With them saying that, I expect to see a certain world view presented.and elements of that religion (god/goddess, wheels of the year, etc.). Those are here. The author also references the Gardnerian 8-Fold Path. That said, I would have made it more clear that the book is going to veer off the Wicca-focus. Meaning, this isn't a new Wicca book. It is modern witchcraft through a Wiccan lens. So while the author does touch briefly on the terms, "Wicca," "folk magic," "modern witchcraft," and such, the reader would need to know what those mean when the author uses them and how they will be applied in the book.

Next, I loved the grounding and energy practices. They are so wonderful that they could really be their own book.

Finally, that brings me to the next point. I really like that this is not another Intro to Wicca book. I think the author handled basic Heathenry better than some authors identifying as such. But there is A LOT going on here. There is probably four books worth of material that could be explored. The extremely brief touching on topics like the Liminal left me feeling like the author had not actually done the work or didn't trust the reader with the ritual information. I would have simply added it to the Hedge section or left it out.

Like I said, there is a lot going on here. What of it? Isn't that good? Of course, but that leaves the material in what I call a "Goldilocks" predictament. It is not basic enough for a new witch and not advanced enougb for some. So this book's sweet spot is the Wiccan witch who has progressed through initiation (and isn't a Wiccan purist), but is still in their first year or early second year of training, the eco-witch, and the ecclectic witch.

I'd advise beginners to look elsewhere even if some basics are covered but this is a terrific next step book for those looking to explore beyond the Wiccan cannon.

A well illustrated and informational way to live more in nature and focus energies there. Year long and seasonal as well as full of ritual this book is wonderful.

Lots of Information

First of all, I have to compliment the author on such a nicely designed layout, including type of fonts used, colors, and design appeal. I really enjoy reading a book, especially when it is appealing and pleasing to my eyes.

The author provides background information on herself and the reason behind why she wrote this book, which is very helpful, if readers are interested in her craft association. She does state that this is not a book of spells, but as I would say "the meat or backbone" of what we intend to learn in order to create a strong foundation for our own particular craft.

Lidia Pradas states that we basically work with and she states that the division of dualities creates a human reality, which is composed of three energies:
1. Telluric Energy, known as Yin
2. Celestial Energy, known as Yang), and
3. Energy, which is the energy we commonly associate as that energy which flows through our body, which we term our “inner energy.”
The author explains each of the above listed energies in further detail in this book.

As with any Wiccan, the author discusses the Wiccan Rede and the Three-Fold Law, stating that both emanate from the concept of not using witchcraft to hurt others.

I find that this is a very good book for beginners, because it does outline a vast amount of knowledge on the background and basic foundation, principles, and understanding the hows, whats, whens, and whys of witchcraft. Highly recommend.

I’ve always been interested and drawn to witchcraft. But I can’t believe I decided to read a book that is teaching me how to cast spells and be a good and thoughtful witch. But to be more precise, it is more about being in peace with yourself and the universe; it’s a self-help and self-awareness manual. However, unfortunately for me, it’s not a book I die to dive in.
Also, I have something to say to the publisher, why two columns in each page? This is a book, not a magazine or newspaper. It made it more difficult to read the book on my phone and I’m always using a phone with a bog screen. Please reconsider.

this book was super cool to get an ARC copy of!! I immediately fell in love with the author because I also have my bachelor's in environmental science, so my views are extremely similar to hers. This book is very informative and it helps guide you in the best witchy way! I would highly recommend this book to beginner witches.
