While I loved this book, I preferred her other books. This was still an enjoyable read, the thing that I struggled with was how fast he seemed to move from almost proposing to someone to then moving on very quickly. But I am not someone to care for realism too much in my romance so I still adored and would recommend this book! Loved the fake dating. It is a friends to lovers and I enjoyed that as well

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read and acquire this book. I am beyond excited to dig in and will update this with my thoughts upon completion. I love Lynn’s books and I love the premise. There is nothing like a good fake dating romance.

HALLIE PIPER IS TURNING OVER A NEW LEAF.

After crawling out of a hotel room (hello, rock bottom), she decides it's time to become a full-on adult.

She gets a new apartment, a new haircut, and a new wardrobe. But when she logs into the dating app to look for new love, she finds none other than Jack: the guy whose hotel room she'd snuck out of.

After agreeing they are absolutely not interested in each other, Jack and Hallie realise that they're each other's perfect wing-person - and join forces in their searches for The One. They even make a wager to see who can find true love first.

But when they agree to be fake dates for a weekend wedding, all bets are off.

Because as they pretend to be a couple, they struggle to remember why dating for real was a bad idea to begin with...

Sign me up to the Lynn Painter fan club! This is the first book I’ve read of hers and boy can I not wait to delve into the backlog.

This book was have a bath instead of a shower because I can’t put it down for longer than a minute good.

I want to be as cool and clever as Jack and Hallie. I want Hallie to be my best friend and Jack is now my new book boyfriend. The number of times I swooned whilst reading this book, and I mean kick your feet squealing swooned.

Just from reading the blurb you know where this book is going to go, and Painter executes it perfectly. I was hooked from the first paragraph - the writing style was *chefs kiss*! There is genuinely nothing I could fault with this book and I already want to reread it, listen to the audiobook and have it adapted into a tv show. HOOK IT TO MY VEINS.

Thank you so much NetGalley and Michael Joseph for the ARC.

I'm officially a Lynn Painter fangirl and I'll read anything she writes

I only discovered her books two weeks a go and have already read everything she's ever written. Bonus points because she got me out of a reading slump. That's a true indication that her stories are effortlessly easy to read because her writing just flows so well.

It was also excellent timing that the last book I read before picking this up was Mr Wrong Number because I had no idea this was a continuation from that. Very pleasantly surprised! It was lovely to be reunited with Colin and Olivia with some updates on how their story was going. I wasn't aware they were set in the same world. (I'm also embarrassed by how long it took me to realise this too).

I absolutely loved this book, Lynn knocks it out the park every time. She knows how to write characters, relationships, and humour so well, and the banter was on point. The pacing was perfect, each character was relavent and interesting, and I adored Jack and Hallie's friendships-turned-romance. You can't not root for them, they were realistic and relatable and each had their own flaws and strengths. They had such a great connection too, which felt very natural. I tend to find many romances are very focused on adding all the tropes in and it often shows but this didn't come across that way. Even if it did have some great tropes in there, which I always appreciate :)

Just perfect. Thank you for letting me read this early!

Having just finished Mr Wrong Number I was so excited to start Lynn Painter’s The Love Wager, and honestly I think I loved it even more than MWR, which is hard given I gave the former 5 glowing stars. The Love Wager was a rom com perfection and I just cannot get enough of Painter’s writing style.

The Love Wager was so very good! It has everything you could want in a rom com:
❤️ an amazing, funny, smart and super cool FMC
❤️ a swoon worthy, equally funny and handsome MMC
❤️ duel POVs
❤️ a drunk hook up, turned friends to lovers
❤️ a fab, banter filled friendship between the MCs
❤️ fake dating, with serious pining from the MMC
❤️ a one bed situation!
❤️ we also get to see more from Olivia & Colin from Mr Wrong Number

I absolutely adored both Hallie and Jack; individually they are brilliant characters, but together they were absolute fire! The chemistry between them was excellent and I loved how we got to see their friendship develop and then grow into something more (with some excellent tension build up and pay off!) It’s always a treat to have a duel POV, especially when it comes to friends to lovers.

This was such a fun read and as with its predecessor I absolutely tore through it. I cannot recommend these books enough!
