There were lots of bits of this which made me laugh or brought a smile to my face.
The writing flows and it's easy to read.
It weaves personal experience with discourse with analysis of that discourse.
This is used to illustrate framing of what is reasonable, and then the book explores the creative purpose of being unreasonable.
I tried this on ebook and couldnt click with it, so bought the audio version to try. Sadly, this just wasn’t for me. The topic was interesting but the writing style feels very much like the author was trying to prove how much work she’d put in. It felt stressful, the language felt almost too intentional - it wasn’t effortless and I didn’t feel in safe hands when I was reading it. Disappointed.
Interesting and thought provoking read! Very timely given the increasing divide across political spheres and the often black and white thinking demonstrated on social media. Very engaging and funny.
Very interesting read. Throughly thought provoking on what counts as reason / common sense today, where it stems from, and the value of breaking those standards.
