Jessica has done it again. Wonderful story with lovely characters and settings. It was lovely to see a bit of Hedgehog Hollow creep in, gives the lovers of that series hope that the series survives and several of the characters came out in this new book. Well done Jessica, can't wait for your next book. Well worth 5 stars and far more
Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this ARC
Sweet story about Barney owner of Bumblebee Barn trying to find a life partner. But he always picks the wrong women who have no interest in living on a farm. Enter his sister who signs him up for a reality show hoping to help him find true love. Sweet story
Barney is a farmer but is lonely and after yet another failed romance with the wrong woman wants to find love and companionship but who would wants that kind of life ?
Fizz is Barney's sister and wants nothing more than to see her brother settled and happy like she is and suggests that he signs up to a reality TV show where farmers try to find love.
Deciding he has nothing to lose he signs up where he mets Amber who is the producer. Unfortunately things don't go to plan and the format of the show gets changed and not for the better
I don't want to say any more as it will spoil the story but you have to read it
Absolutely loved it, wish I could give it more than 5 stars
I received this book from Netgalley. I was first attracted to the cover of the book. It definitely looked like something I would enjoy.
After chapter one I was ready to marry Barney. Like yes, let's have babies and watch them grow up on this farm! Such a wonderful character. Definitely seems like a genuine guy.
I HATE that they have changed the concept of the show. It had so much potential and now I feel so bad for Barney. Just take him off the show and send him to me. It makes me so sad because he's such a genuinely nice guy. However, it does show the truth in how these reality shows are normally created.
Reading about him and Elle was devastating. He deserves so much more than that. He's such a good guy and to get treated like that is unacceptable.
I'm sorry but did Barney really go to watch the sunrise every day for 3 weeks in the hopes that Amber would be there?! WHERE DO I FIND ONE OF HIM? Also, I love that him and Amber never had any conflict that tore them apart, just to being them back together. It was refreshing.
Jessica's writing is easy, it's warming and is like catching up with an old friend!
Barney just wants to find someone to love and that can handle the hours and demands of a farm.
Amber and Barney's journey was fun! I got so into their story that I couldn’t put it down!! It was a quick read and kept me engaged.
I want to thank Boldwood Books and Netgalley for providing an ACR. I voluntarily reviewed this copy, and my opinions are my own.
There hasn't been a single book of Jessica's that I haven't loved and I'm adding this one to that pile too.
Jessica's writing is easy, it's warming and is like catching up with an old friend.
My favourite place Whitsborough Bay even made an appearance and everyone knows my love for that place.
Amber and Barney's journey was addictive and i was so engrossed in to which direction it went. Bumblebee Farm, I love you.

I received an E-ARC with a request for my honest review.
This heart-warming romance is set on Bumblebee Barn in the Yorkshire Wolds. It follows two main characters Barney and Amber.
Barney wants to find love but never seems to be able to find a woman who will stay around his running a farm duty. His sister asks him to sign up to a new Reality TV show called Love on the Farm and he agrees in the hope he can finally find his match.
Amber is a TV producer, and out of her comfort zone takes on Love on the Farm due to family circumstances.
She soon comes to learn the show is not going to turn out as planned.
Will Barney find love? Will Amber find more than she intended working on the show?
This romance was such a lovely read with many laughs in between. I will try not to give too much away but some of the situations Barney finds himself in are hilarious.
I loved that you get to hear from both Barney and Amber’s point of view as the show goes through the different stages. It also increases the intensity of the storyline as you have the friends and family of both characters introduced.
I believe that this is the first book in this series but that it has a few of the characters in the background from the Hedgehog Hollow series, which makes sense as it is a setting for part of the storyline.
Overall, a heart-warming and lovely romance where Barney a farmer looks for love a Reality TV show.
What a fantastic tale! I found Healing Hearts to be such a lovely and relaxing read, and I became completely engrossed in the narrative. The plot of the book involves much more than just a farmer discovering love on television show. As family dynamics and former entered the picture, the story became increasingly complicated.
Amber is a TV producer who typically avoids reality TV. She initially rejected when asked to participate in a program that matched farmers, but she eventually consented when it meant she could be nearer to her younger sister, who needed her. Except for meeting Barney, the farmer cast to fall in love, it turns out to be far worse than she had anticipated.
Narrated by Barney and Amber, the two central characters. It was clear that the two characters, who are paired together for a new reality show, have complicated histories. Observing Amber and Barney's relationship develop and the fact that Amber maintained her professionalism throughout allowed Barney to give her the chance for closure, letting her to move forward with him for the future they both desire. It was incredibly sweet.
Although it definitely takes a different turn from the standard reality dating show plotline, the outcome is still rather unexpected. The characters were wonderful and engaging. You are left wanting more because there is just the proper amount of romance. The writing is excellent and the place exudes a wonderful sense of coziness.
This is the author's first book that I've read, and I'll definitely check out the rest of them. Overall, this was a lovely and endearing tale!
The book will be available on January 24, 2023! Please put this book on your list straight away if you like cozy, heartfelt romances :)
I thank the opportunity to review this ARC and would want to thank Boldwood Books and Netgalley for providing it. I voluntarily reviewed this copy, and my opinions are my own.
Oh my heart! I found I couldn’t put this down once I started reading. I’d been curious about Barney since he was mentioned in the previous book series Hedgehog Hollow and now we finally get his story and what a story it was. Each layer that was peeled back a new element was revealed, Barney had been through so much and kept it all to himself and now it’s his turn to find his happy ever after.
Amber also has had a tough time and I really liked how she analyses herself throughout the book and realises that she’d been hiding and protecting herself since the situation with her sister and ex fiancé. Being with Barney gave her the opportunity for closure so she could take those important steps forward with him for the future they both want.
Such a brilliant new series with so much emotion and love woven into it.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
In this book, we meet farmer Barney, at Bumblebee Barn, he is looking for someone to share his life with, and hasn’t had much luck so far.
His sister, Fizz puts his name forward on a reality TV programme called Love on the Farm.
So, will Barney have more success on this show and find love maybe have his own family?
A heartwarming read, we get to know more about Fizz, and Hedgehog Hollow. I loved the setting, characters(some not so much). It had some happy and sad moments.
I recommend this book.
This book was like a warm hug. So glad to be getting to know some familiar characters a bit better, I just hope there's more one the way. Jessica Redland has a way of pulling you into each story without you even realise you are engrossed within the first 10 minutes.
Jessica does it again! I couldn't wait to read this book and I was not disappointed. Healing Hearts at Bumblebee Barn has everything one has come to expect from Jessica Redland: likeable, relatable characters with hurts to heal, a wonderful setting in Yorkshire, and a good storyline. I loved the little glimpses of Hedgehog Hollow, too! 5*
Another fabulous book from Jessica Redland, hopefully the start of another wonderful series!
Barney is a lonely farmer, and when sister Fizz persuades him to sign up for a reality show which intends to find farmers love, he is wary but keen to give it a go. Amber is the series producer, who is not a fan of reality tv but makes an exception for the series as it allows her to keep an eye on her sister. Will the series run smoothly, and will Barney find true love?
A must read for fans of Jessica's Hedgehog Hollow series - Barney's sister Fizz works at Hedgehog Hollow, and a few old favourite characters appear in this book. I really enjoyed it, and can't wait for a second installment!
After reading the complete Hedgehog Hollow series by @jessicaredlandauthor and loving every second of it, I couldn't wait to dive into Healing Hearts at Bumblebee Barn, and it sure did not disappoint!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Welcome to Bumblebee Barn, home to beautiful animals, stunning views and spectacular sunsets - and young resident farmer, Barney. As we meet farmer Barney Kinsella, life on Bumblebee Barn farm is a commitment, and he is looking for a girl to share his life and settle down with, but it's not easy. His sister Fizz signs him up for a reality TV show, Love on the Farm.
I loved the setting of this book and with the little snippets you get of Hedgehog Hollow, it truly is a great 'companion' novel. Jessica Redland writes really well and has a great way of conveying the characters' emotions, making it easy to connect with them. The story was absorbing and kept my attention right from page one.
CW: Abortion
Love love the first book on this new series! It’s was nice to read about Fizz and her brother Barney! Loved the motion of a reality on a farm! A perfect ending for Amber and Barney! Looking forward to more editions to this series.
A feel good stand alone from this author,
As we meet farmer Barney Kinsella, life on Bumblebee Barn farm is a commitment and he is looking for a girl to commit to his life and settle down but it's not that easy. His sister Fizz signs him up for a reality TV show Love on the Farm. Will he find the right one to love him and maybe have children of their own.
This story was so heart warming to read, healing hearts is unique all on it's own, as we read about his sister Fizz in Hedgehog Hollow the author has captured Barneys story to perfection, I loved reading all this book, it's a delightful curl up just perfect 5 stars
I was so excited to read the first book in Jessica Redland’s new series. I loved the Hedgehog Hollow series (not to mention all her other books), so the start of a new series is definitely something to celebrate!
The characters were great. I loved Barney. He’s such a lovely man, who works hard and cares about people. I also really like Amber, and the way she’s there for her sister (among other people). And of course I enjoyed seeing some cameos from Hedgehog Hollow characters too!
I love the setting. Like Amber, I feel at home on farms (one side of my family has a number of farmers), so Bumblebee Barn felt like home immediately. I adore the bumblebee watercolour at the top of each chapter, and the cover is beautiful too.
The plot was a lovely one. Jessica Redland writes really well, and has a great way of conveying the characters emotions, and making it easy to connect with them. The story was absorbing and kept my attention (something I’ve been finding difficult recently), right from page one.
Overall, this was a wonderful and heartwarming story. And my favourite Jessica Redland so far (I’ve said that before, but she just keeps writing better and better). I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series.
I was given a copy of this book, my opinions are my own.
What a delightful read! It has wonderful characters, a great setting and just enough drama and romance to make it a page-turner. I loved it and highly recommend it.
I received a complimentary copy from Boldwood Books via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Another wonderful book from Jessica Redland that I had the pleasure of reading via NetGalley before publication.
This story is based around Barney, his love for his farm which he inherited from his Grandparents and his failure of a lovelife. All he wants is love and companionship but he seems to be attracted to all the wrong girls. So his sister sees an advert for a new upcoming tv series about farmers finding love. Reluctantly at first but then decides he has nothing to lose he signs up. However nothing runs smoothly especially for the producer of the show as she has to do things against her better judgement to please the bosses. Will he find love, will the show go ahead or will skeletons from his past appear and upset the show.
I loved it, couldn’t put it down and really hope there is a sequel
Healing Hearts at Bumblebee Barn by Jessica Redland
Having read most of the Hedgehog Hollow series I have become a big fan of Jessica Redland's books. Will these books change your life? Probably not. Will you feel good when you have read one, and feel like you have made new friends? Almost certainly. The Bumblebee Barn book centres around Barney, who is the brother of Fizz who works at Hedgehog Hollow, so you can see the characters do overlap quite a bit.
Barney owns and lives at Bumblebee Farm, which he took over from his Grandad. The Farm is all he ever wanted, except that he has no one to share it with. He desperately wants a wife and children, but it's not that easy when you live on a farm. When his sister hears about a television program that are looking for farmers to match up on dates she persuades Barney to apply.
Amber is a TV producer who produces a countryside program. When asked to do a program to match up farmers she initially refused, but when it meant she could be closer to her little sister who needed her, she reluctantly agreed.
The plot may not be a total surprise, but there are enough twists and turns that it isn't totally predictable, and it is very enjoyable.
