I must say that of all the various reasons a main character may start off a book essentially homeless and needing to start life again - that your house falling off the side of a cliff, is certainly one of the more original I've seen.

And it means that Jenny and Charlies lives are turned upside down.

I loved the way they responded to this, and when Jenny also is made redundant she starts considering a whole new way of life.

Inspired by neighbour Luke who travels around the UK in a motorhome and kindly offers to take Jenny and Charlie with him.

I loved their quirky journey up and down the UK, with places chosen at random and interesting routes and stops found.

And its really a journey of self discovery for all of the characters, as they adjust, and I loved seeing it all unfold.

Plus add in Betty their four legged friend, and we have fun and frolics. Such an enjoyable book. I loved it.

Thank you to Orion and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Jenny is having the worst day of her life but in the end with hindsight looking back it actually turns out to be the best day. I laughed so much while reading people were staring at me! I didn't care because this book made me feel so excited for what may lay ahead in life. Adorable is a word that comes to mind when thinking of this story.

Falling For You is an outstanding read that I highly recommend to readers. Johnson's exceptional ability to captivate the reader's attention is evident in this book, proving to be a must-read for anyone who has yet to discover the author's work.

The novel revolves around the life of Jenny, a single mother, losing her home to a violent storm that causes her cottage to fall into the sea. With nowhere else to go, Jenny and her son Charlie are taken in by her neighbour, Luke, who welcomes them into his home. This marks the beginning of a heartwarming and emotional story of love, friendship, family, and the courage to start over.

Throughout the read, the reader is transported to several breathtaking locations across the UK, thanks to Johnson's vivid descriptions in her prose. From the rugged coastlines of Cornwall to the picturesque countryside of Yorkshire, it evokes a sense of wonder and beauty.

Johnson's storytelling ability is truly remarkable, as she weaves together the lives of the characters with skill and sensitivity. The reader is given a glimpse into the innermost thoughts and feelings of each character, making them come alive, which is both relatable and heartwarming.

In conclusion, this book is a must-read for anyone seeking a deeply emotional and captivating story. This will undoubtedly leave readers touched and inspired.

This book was such a pleasure! I devoured it in a few days, which says something, as lately reading a book takes me more than a few weeks! I just wanted to keep reading, there was such a warmth to this story, it was so down - to - earth and real.

I absolutely adored the relationship between Jenny and Charlie. At the beginning I thought she's going to be the devoted, sad, single mum, but it turned out that yes, she was devoted and she was a single mum, and yes, sometimes she was sad, which is only natural, but she had the best sense of humour and her banter with Charlie, her one - liners were simply the best. Actually I think I'd like to be a mum like Jenny myself, laid - back but with rules, funny and honest.
I also adored the growing relationship with Luke, ekhm, I actually adored Luke, period.

There were moments when the book started to feel like a tourist guide, but yes, I understand, the author couldn't have save us those description, and as much as I loved some of the places Jenny, Luke, CHarlie and Betty visited, I could live without the places mentioned in passing. Nevertheless, it is another gem from Debbie Johnson, there is simply so much heart in every single word written, it feels as if the author herself had a great fun writing this novel about forgiveness and second chances.

A great read. Jenny has a fairly small life, and the time is approaching when her only son would be leaving home. The disaster strikes when they lose their home. Help is on hand from neighbour Luke. They all have some issues from their past and will spending the summer travelling together help them all in the long term?

This author is fast becoming one of my favourite authors! I've loved every book that I've read! This book was absolutely delightful! We meet Jenny and her teenage son, Charlie. She lives in a beautiful little cottage which has unfortunately been getting nearer to the edge of the cliff over the years. When the unthinkable happens and the cottage falls into the sea, Jenny and Charlie are left with nowhere to go. Luke lives in his campervan and travels around the country. Becoming friends with Jenny, he offers them both the chance to go with him for the summer!

I loved reading this! It was full of everything which I enjoy - the seaside, travelling, a fancy campervan, a dog, fun, friendship, romance and family dramas! Jenny, Charlie and Luke are really likeable characters, and being a mum of a teenage lad I could completely relate to Jenny! This author knows just how to write a book which captures you from the very beginning and keeps you laughing and crying the whole way through! The journey around different areas of the country was so much fun! I'd love a man like Luke to park his camper van next to my house, just in the hope that he'll whisk me off for the summer!

This would make the perfect summer read. Pull up a comfy chair, grab a long cold drink and settle down for the best little piece of escapism from real life! Once you start, you won't put it down until you've finished it! Fabulous!!

This author always engages me in her stories. I like the original touches in this tale of forgiveness and second chances. Its believable characters, humour, poignancy, and romance are woven into every line. The events which lead to Jenny's life-changing journey are told vividly, making them easy to visualise. The familial relationships are insightful and recognisable. I like the uplifting qualities of this story and the way it draws the reader into Jenny's world, making it an escapist read.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

A poignant story about finding true joy amidst loss & life changes. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, including ‘visiting’ all of the places around the country as the characters set off on a road trip culminating in a trip to Cornwall & reconnecting with family.
This book has had me searching sales listings for a campervan!
A great story, a perfect holiday read.

I am a great fan of Debbie Johnson’s books and would always have bought this one anyway, but I was very impressed when I saw the bright and attractive cover of Debbie Johnson’s latest book which simply called the reader to dive into its depths and join the characters for an adventure. When I started reading, I was instantly drawn into the world of the main players and found this book really hard to put down.

The story centres on Jenny and her 18-year-old son, Charlie. Jenny is not having the best time, what with her job being under threat, money being scarce, her car breaking down and, to top it all, she is suddenly made homeless in the most dramatic fashion when her cottage falls off a cliff in a storm. Luckily, the pair are offered shelter by Luke, who has been staying nearby in his motorhome. With no belongings and nowhere to stay, they decide to take Luke up on his offer to have them join him and his adorable dachshund Betty on a road trip, heading wherever they fancy but never staying long in one place. As they travel around England visiting places each want to see, they learn lots about these locations but also about themselves. The group also become drawn closer to each other as time goes on.

I found myself completely spellbound by this romantic and uplifting story filled with Debbie Johnson’s trademark humour, but also featuring some emotional and heartbreaking moments. I loved the three central characters. Although abandoned by his father, Jenny has raised a very sensible boy in Charlie; his mature attitude helped her cope with what could have been an even more tragic situation. Luke is quite an amazing person, happily traveling the country with his gorgeous canine companion while deciding what was next. I’m sure we would all agree that Jenny was really lucky to be rescued by such a handsome and capable man. In addition to the main story, there are interesting and emotional backstories for Luke and Jenny. I also enjoyed hearing about the places that the trio visited on their road trip. I would recommend this beautifully and sensitively written book to all; it is definitely one of my favourite books from this author so far.

This book is absolutely wonderful. It is am amazing heartwarming, poignant and uplifting read.
The characters are well developed and relatable. You have to feel sorry for Jenny when her already bad day gets unimaginably worse.
I loved hearing about the places that they visited in the U.K. Some of the places I knew, some of the places I now want to visit after reading about them.
I really enjoyed reading this book. Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my ARC.

A great read from Debbie Johnson, Jenny is having a really bad day which only gets worse when her life is turned upside down by her house falling off the edge of a cliff. We follow Jenny and her son Charlie and their friend Luke as they take a trip in a camper van. I have to admit I found some of the descriptions of places they visited were a bit more in depth than I would have liked them but the storyline kept me hooked and I really enjoyed it. All of the characters were very believable. I would definitely recommend this book.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

Another beautiful book by Debbie Johnson.

Jenny is a single mum. One day, everything changes in her world, a storm hits the village and the cottage where she lived with her son Charlie, goes off the cloud that it sat on and into the sea.

Now, they have no place to call home. Her neighbour Luke, asks them to come live with him.

I loved Betty, the cute dachshund.

There was some beautiful places in and around the UK described in the story.

I recommend this book.

Where to start? This book touched me in so many ways. There was so many things I could identify with with Jenny and her relationship with her 18 year old son Charlie.
Initially I was drawn in by how bad of a day she was having, and then the icing on the cake, her house being destroyed. The worry and anxiety that she goes through on a daily basis, about money, her car, her job and her abilities as a parent, are so very relatable. When you count your pennies, then there is no room for accidents and emergencies and what happened to her really was her worst nightmare.
I really liked her growing friendship with Luke. I could tell he was lonely and had past hurt he needed to sort through and together he and Jenny helped heal each other and ‘find their joy’ as Charlie liked to say.
Jenny and Charlie’s relationship was really beautiful to watch. I have teenage boys and it’s not easy to get a conversation out of them or get them off their phones to do something in real life, for Charlie to be mature enough to realise he wanted more was quite something. I loved their banter and how he was quietly supporting his mum without her even knowing. I read the chapter where he leaves for Paris through big fat tears as I dread that day, the flying the coup with my own children.
There was just so much about this book, even the places they visited, I kept saying, oh I’ve been there, and there and had just returned from visiting Castlerig with my family. It all made me feel closer to the characters and the story. Unlike Jenny in her blog, words don’t seem to come easily to describe how I loved this book, but I know for sure it will certainly be on my bookshelf and read many times.
