This story follows Casey Tresscott's journey as she tries to regain control of her life after a traumatic car accident. The story is set in Sandover, where Casey attends a prestigious private school and finds comfort in her relationship with Fenn Bishop, a popular boy with a dangerous secret. However, when Casey discovers the truth, she rebels against her father and bullies, while Fenn teams up with his stepbrother and delinquent classmates to uncover the truth behind the accident. The story explores control, identity, and redemption themes and is thought-provoking for young adults. The writing is smooth, and the characters are intriguing. The plot mixes drama, love, and introspection, making it a highly entertaining addition to Kennedy's Prep series. I was hooked from beginning to end.

This book was…messy. It has a bit of a soap opera or Beverly Hills 90210 feel to it. All that said, I enjoyed it. The story kept me glued to the page, which is something that Elle Kennedy is great at doing!⁣

I was dying to have the mystery of Casey’s story wrapped up, and while it was to a point, there seems to be another layer wrapped up in a character who is back from exile. I was glad to have so many of questions answered, but with that came more questions. This series is deeper than I was expecting. The stories and characters have such a crazy winding path that I have no clue where it’s all going to end. And I love that!⁣

One thing I do struggle with a bit is the sheer number of POVs in this series. It definitely makes me curious about the secondary characters. Although, I’m not sure anyone is a secondary character. They all seem to have an important role. I’m practically salivating for Lawson’s book. That boy is crazy tortured and I want to see him get some peace and find his HEA. ⁣

I’m gonna need that next book ASAP. I’m crazy invested with all of these fictional characters.

This did not live up to the hype of its predecessor. I didn’t care about Casey the way I cared about her sister. I found it quite boring

This is the second book in the series about Sandover Prep, a high school for troubled boys. In the first, we learn about an accident that Casey was involved in last year where she is found with her car submerged in the local lake, and she is found alive but drugged and injured, and can't recall any of the details of the accident.

In this book we have learned who saved Casey from the crash, but we don't know who was actually driving the car, or who drugged Casey in the first place. While our first book was RJ and Sloane's story, this book is about Casey and Fenn, RJ's stepbrother and roommate.

Casey and Fenn have developed a friendship after the accident, but both want it to be more. Meanwhile, we are still learning about what each character had to do with the accident, what they know, and what they are hiding. Again we have multiple POVs from all the main players in our story, which I absolutely love. As Sloane and RJ continue to dig into what happened at Prom last year, Casey is dealing with the bullying that she has been dealing with by the girls at her school, and with her feelings for Fenn. Fenn has secrets that he isn't willing to tell Casey about, and that make him wonder if he truly deserves his realtionship with her.

With each book, I feel like we are really peeling away the layers of each character and seeing their true motivations. I love that each book gives us more morsels of knowledge about the night of Prom and what happened. I can't wait for the next book, as more characters get introduced, and more insight into our main crew comes to light!

Thank you to Bloom Books for providing me with an ARC of this book!

Rogue (The Prep Series) by Elle Kennedy• New Adult / High school / contemporary romance • pub March 6, 2023

A huge thanks to @netgalley and @readbloom for providing me with a digital ARC in return for an honest review.

Casey’s recent car accident has left her with PTSD, the target of snide remarks & questions about what really happened that night. Grasping for any sense of control, she starts to spinning out of control as her boyfriend and sister try to sort out the truth and stop Casey from her own self-destructive path.

Thought I’d give this a try to see what the “Sweet Valley High” or “Seniors” series of today was like. This was definitely a little racier, but still had lots of high school drama and covered themes of relationships, finding yourself, and transitioning from child to young adult. Definitely more suited to a high-school / new adult audience, but I’m glad I gave it a try, made me think about the books I would have read back in high school. Worth checking out if this is a genre you enjoy.

Thanks to @read_bloom and @netgalley for a copy of Rogue. I adored it and am excited that it's officially out today!

✔️ Friends to Lovers
✔️ Opposites Attract
✔️ Their Siblings are Also Dating

I'm a huge @ellekennedy33 fan and enjoyed Misfit. Rogue (book 2 in the Prep series), however, was a whole other level - it was like watching the best episodes of Gossip Girl or Pretty Little Liars, from the plot to the pacing to the world building and to the character development.

I loved Casey and Fenn and how gentle he was with her. Seeing their relationship deepen was so swoonworthy. There were some really amazingly steamy scenes in this one too and their will-they-or-won't-they plotline was well done.

I also loved that we still got to spend time with Sloane and RJ (the couple from Book 1) and got to know more about Lawson and Silas (ok especially Lawson and seeing more of his backstory.) I was telling @nats_bookventures that I want book 3 to be Lawson's book and that he should be in a throuple (read Book 1 for the reason why! 😂🥵).

This book was a delicious read - few do banter and steam like Elle. Highly recommend this one. 5⭐️ and it's out today, y'all!!

I am loving this series! At the end of misfit it left you on a cliffhanger and thats where rogue picks up. I love all of Elle Kennedys series, and this one is no different. I also love a book with multiple POVs. This series remind me a little of the gossip girls series which I loved when I was younger. There also is a little bit of suspense involved as we try to figure out what actually happened to casey on prom night and how Fenn was involved.

Thank you netgalley for this ARC!

This book is the second in the Prep series by Elle Kennedy. It follows the same group of teens but focuses more on Casey and Fenn in this book. I love a book with found family and I enjoyed getting to see that in this friendship group. I feel the characters although still a bit toxic were more likeable in this book and I hope that this character development continues in further books in the series.
I also really enjoyed the mystery element to this story and enjoyed the progression of their investigation into Casey’s accident.
Overall this is a fun book which is great escapism into a world of elitist rich teens.

I am a huge fan of Elle Kennedy’s Off-Campus and Briar U series, so I was excited to see her diving into another school-based series. This time she takes us to a high school prep school of richer delinquents. If you are the type of person who loves to get attached to a huge cast of characters then the Prep series is for you. The first book was decent, but this second instalment was really damn good!

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…
Characters: Casey is the good girl in this world of morally grey characters. I highly recommended reading Misfit before diving into Rogue as the first book well establishes who Casey is. She is incredibly kind and sweet, a stark contrast to every other character in this story. Casey has not had it easy and she is just trying to do the best she can. If you read Misfit, then you would be wary of Fenn. His character is super complex, with a decent smattering of daddy issues and issues with his own self-worth. I could not help but love him while he was on a quest for Casey’s forgiveness, he also won mine.
Setting: The story is set at Sandover Prep. Casey and Sloane’s father is the headmaster and the boys attend the school. I love this world’s dynamic as we get to sneak out under the eyes of the headmaster and the RAs. We got more fights and more parties in this instalment. Interesting to see a high school experience that was very different than my own.
Pacing: This series is how you do multi-points of views. I will be honest I doubted it at the start of the first book but now I am so attached to everyone. This type of narrative structure allows us to check on Sloan and RJ, to see how their relationship is fairing after their happily ever after. Along with chapters looking into what Lawson and Silas are getting up to, which makes me so excited for future instalments. Once I finished Misfit I wanted to jump into Rogue right away, and I was so happy I could. Once I was into the story I never wanted to leave it, but I could not help myself and I zoomed through it.
Romance: I loved this relationship! I started cheering them on back in the last instalment. After just how adorable the first few chapters were I wanted Fenn and Casey to figure things out. Talk about some hot and heavy kisses. Fenn was very respectful of Casey’s inexperience. So do not go into this book imagining lots of sex, instead, expect some emotional devastation. This book is emotionally heavy and if you were anything like me you will spend a decent chunk of time crying.

Ah, the lifestyles of the young, rich and delinquent are front and center in Rogue, the second book in the Prep series. The headmaster's daughter Casey Trescott still doesn't remember what happened to her on prom night and Fenn is there to hold her hand (and more) when she needs someone. They develop a very sweet friendship that is just about to go to the next step when Casey finds out a secret that devastates her relationship with Fenn. These two were very cute together.

Eager to break out of the mold she thinks she's trapped in, she starts standing up for herself. I really liked this Casey, just as much as her softer side. She takes charge and takes care of her enemies, and in the process attracts Lawson, the school drug addict bad boy. I kinda liked them together.

The story is told from multiple points of view and I felt like I got to know all of the characters better. At first I was skeptical because there are more than two pov's, but it did keep the pace of the story moving forward and also helped with the preview of what may be going down with Lawson in the future. Can't wait to see what's going to happen there.

I'm a sucker for a good parent-child moment and Fenn and his father are a terrific part of the story. I really loved what happened there between them. I don't want to say more than that, but Fenn and his father are some of my most favorite moments in Rogue. I still have reservations about Casey and Fenn, and I could see some future bumps in the road for them. There are uncovered details from the prom accident that aren't accounted for and I'm hoping we find out more about Gabe's cryptic message and what really happened to Casey that night.

I enjoyed Rogue enough to read the ending twice, and the story left me thinking about these characters after I'd finished the story, which is what great stories do for me. However, I thought the first half of the story lacked something that I can't totally identify easily. The second half offered lots of drama and some deeply felt emotions from the Sandover guys that made it easy to connect with them, even at my way-past-high-school age.

So overall, I liked Rogue and the entire cast of characters. Casey's rebellious period and Fenn's anguish made for good drama, and some of the secondary characters like Lawson and Silas are getting interesting. There's still loose ends to wrap up so I'm looking forward to a bit more Sandover Prep.

Thank you to Netgalley, Elle Kennedy, and her publisher for access to an eARC of Rogue in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fun and fitting second chapter in the Prep world! Trysts, lies, and debauchery all play out while expanding what we know about our favorite Sandover and Ballard Prep students, and we get even more details as to some of the secrets left unanswered after Misfit (book 1).

I greatly enjoyed this jaunt into the Sandover Prep/Trescott family story and getting to know more about Casey and her background. All of your favorites from Misfit are back for another round of shenanigans that are sure to keep you intrigued until the end!

I'd like to thank Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books, Bloom Books for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book in the Elle Kennedy's Prep series. No one does drama filled high school prep series as well as Elle. I loved the character development that Casey went through after her accident and how she tries to find her way in a new high school. I really like watching the relationship between Fenn and Casey grow. How Fenn becomes all in over Casey. I'm glad the mystery over Casey's accident was revealed. I'm not sure who is up next in the series but I really hope it's Lawson.

This book is messy, filled with drama, and some truly troubled characters.

Kennedy has done it again! I could not put this book down. I consumed it in a day because I had to know what happened next. We pick up the story right where we left off in Misfit, trying to piece together the timeline on the accident through the groups POV, and determining who could have been the driver and what is a Fenn hiding... Along the way Casey’s ptsd is triggered again and she struggle to navigate her new catholic school while still trying to hold on to normalcy in her life that should be for your average teen. This does have multiple pov’s like the first book which I didn’t mind since the timeline was not really in tandem more in a continued plot. It felt like I was reading the equivalent of a teen drama like Gossip Girl or Riverdale.

I loved that we got to hang on to Rj and Sloane in this book but with more focus on Fenn and Casey. I really hope we get to go back to Sandover and focus with Lawson as well.

Ahhhhhh I have been waiting for Casey and Fenn’s story and it’s finally here!!! Thank you so much to Elle Kennedy, Netgalley, and the publisher for this ARC. My biggest problem now though is having to wait until it’s released and my friends can read it so I can talk about it because SO MUCH HAPPENED IN THIS BOOK. Elle Kennedy, ma’am, this books is 5 stars but I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.

We end Misfit with Sloane and RJ happy together and Casey and Fenn starting up a relationship but nothing is ever that simple in this Sandover Prep world. We spend this book trying to figure out what exactly happened to Casey on prom night and both Casey and Fenn have quite a few things to deal with during this book. I spent so much time wanting to yell at Finn for his decisions and Casey too. This book is angsty, and toxic, and I could not put it down.

Rogue was such a good follow up to Misfit. I love that we kept the multiple POVs even from Sloane and RJ and can’t wait to find out who the focus of the next book is going to be because both Silas and Lawson have a lot of redeeming to do in my opinion. ALSO THAT CLIFFHANGER??? Elle- why would you do this to us????? Anyways, such a good, entertaining book and series and I can’t wait for book 3 in the Prep Series!

I’ve had a really hard time sticking through with the misfit prep series so far. Maybe it’s because the off campus series was SO good, or maybe it’s because they’re high schoolers and I don’t relate to that anymore? I’m not sure.

While the storyline is intriguing while Casey works through what ACTUALLY happened the night of her accident, there are so many POVS and characters to keep up with - the same way I felt through the first book.

I love Casey’s character and her personality, I love the story she has to unfold, but this one fell a little flat for me.

Rogue picks up immediately where Misfit left off & I loved the smooth story continuation. Rogue gives us some character development that I was not expecting but loved. We also get a closer look into Casey and her accident. Although this book is focused on Casey’s story, we still get all of the POV and story lines of Fenn, Sloane, Silas, RJ & Lawson. Oh Lawson, he is such a train wreck & I couldn’t stomach him in Misfit, but I found myself rooting for him this time 😬 I can’t wait to see what happens in book 3!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bloom Books for an advanced copy of this book for an honest review!

Another great read from Elle Kennedy that I devoured in like 24hrs! This is book picks up where Misfit left off, but this time the main storyline revolves around Casey. We still get glimpses of RJ and Sloane with I enjoyed because I love them. Casey is Sloane’s younger sister, and she was involved in an accident that’s left her with some memory loss and ptsd. The mystery of what happened that night still haunts her but she eventually finds friendship and solace in Fenn. I really like Fenn and I guess I sort of have a soft spot for him. The book is written in multi POV so there are some subplots happening in the background, but the main focus is Casey and Fenn’s navigation of turning from friends to lovers. It also centers on Casey coping with her trauma and feeling like her father and Sloane have put her in a bubble with their overprotective tendencies. I wouldn’t say this is a spicy book. There are definitely a few scenes but they’re not frequent. There’s mystery, there’s secrets, a twist at the end, an amazing cast of characters, and so many things I love, and as usual the writing was great! I took off one star because I found Casey hard to connect with. Maybe that’s because she is an older teenager and I’m 31– I’m not sure, but I enjoyed it over all. This is a new adult series, 18+ for sexual content, language, situations.

What I love about Rogue is that we finally get to know more with Casey and Fenn. I really like this pairing since it seems so genuine. Fenn seemed like he was trying to redeem his f-boy reputation back in book one and Casey was finally getting fed up with the smothering. Their individual growth and growth together was so good.

as an ongoing mystery series I’m excited for book 3 now that we have a certain someone back in the mix and a few off the rails
while they are the main POVs for book 2, we still get Silas, Lawson, Sloane, and RJ POVs which just add more perspective and layers to each character.

I do feel like the angst and drama with Casey and Fenn was a bit drawn out. Fenns loyalty to gabe was a bit of a weak backstory and considering he just completely disappeared it feels like a scapegoat. I’m glad we unraveled another part of Caseys accident, but who drugged her???? I’m very surprised it was Lucas, and slightly disappointed because it seems like Casey is constantly betrayed by the people she’s closest to. I feel like overall it could have been cut down By a hundred pages or so or at least have it to where Casey and Fenn worked together to find out what happened versus everyone solving it on their own.

Thank you for this ARC!
