No One Saw a Thing by Andrea Mara is a gripping thriller that centers around a parent's worst nightmare. The story follows Sive and Aaron, an Irish couple visiting London with their three children. While she is distracted, Sive's two daughters, Faye (6) and Bea (2), board the tube ahead of her and the doors close before she can join them. Bea is quickly found, but Faye disappears without a trace.
The plot delves into the frantic search for Faye, unraveling through a series of twists and turns that keep readers on edge. The narrative structure includes flashbacks and detailed time analysis to slowly reveal what happened to Faye. The fast-paced plot and frequent revelations maintain a high level of suspense throughout the book, making it a compelling read. The author expertly depicts the anxiety of parenthood and the psychological depth of her characters.
Overall, No One Saw a Thing is an addictive thriller with a strong mystery at its core, marked by the emotional intensity of its premise
This is a suspenseful book with many twists. It is very action driven. The pace was fast. The book is well written. It is a great thriller.
Thank you to @bantambooksuk @penguinukbooks and Transworld Publishers for the advance copy of Andrea Mara's No One Saw a Thing.
The story starts like the tube they were getting on - just non stop. The story follows Sive and Aaron Sullivan - an Irish couple over from Dublin with their 3 children, for a reunion with Aaron's "friends". Sive, parenting solo, enters a busy morning tube station and for a split seconds' hesitation the doors in front of her close and her 2 babies are away in the tube without her. 6 year old Faye and 2 year old Bea....but only 1 child returns. Every parents worst nightmare then unfolds on the subsequent pages.
I loved the dual time line, shifting between the recent past and present day search for Faye. I loved Sive and Jude - 2 fabulous characters. The "london set" not so much - I think Andrea shows from the outset they are quite a strange friendship group- a term used very loosely! Most not to be trusted, the one-upmanship constant between most of the characters and many of which are just are not likeable - Sives husband Aaron amongst them.
Great momentum throughout the book kept my interest piqued at all times and I just couldn't wait to finish! And thus begins my book-affair with Andrea Maras back catalogue.

Thank you to @netgalley @penguinrandomhouse @andreamaraauthor for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Irish couple Sive and Aaron Quinn are visiting London with their three children for a reunion with Aaron's university pals. Whilst there Sive is taking a trip on the underground with the three kids when the unimaginable happens. The doors of the tube close leaving Sive on the platform and the two girls speeding away to the next station. She sees a man give her a signal that he will take them off at the next stop. When she arrives at the next station there is only one little girl Bea aged 2. The man didn't even see another girl and Bea doesn't have the words to communicate what has happened. What ensues is a thriller that you can't put down and every parents worst nightmare.
Another amazing book from one of my favourite auto buy authors.

Very fast paced with short chapters. An interesting premise, with some twists and turns. I would read more by this author and recommend to those who enjoy a well paced thriller.
A really good thriller, full of tension and suspense and with some good twists. Enjoyed the narrative that was slightly in the past and further in the past to add little bits of context to the plot as it developed.
A gripping opening, I was so excited by the premise of this novel. I love the narrative that it’s written in a 24-hour real-time.
The story has a dual narrative structure that flashes in and out of the present and rewinds back to the events of a couple of days ago. It’s a relatable hook. It takes a few seconds and your children are on the train while you (the parent) are left on the platform.
A brilliant set up that I felt is let down by an execution that doesn’t quite work for me. I think I wasn’t as much of a fan of the organised crime aspect of the novel and Aaron’s job. Aaron’s character was annoying. I liked Jude’s character and wish she had her own narrative arc. There were a few twists and turn, some I didn’t see coming but the Aaron part of the story just didn’t intrigue me. I think this is more of a taste thing.
One of the best books I’ve read this year
It’s a definite must if you are looking for a great read
A rollercoaster of a read
Will have you hooked from the first to the last page
Thanks NetGalley
Another 5 star read for me. I really enjoyed this fast paced thriller.
Andrea Mara has become an auto buy author for me and I can’t wait to read more of her books in the future.
The story started off with a bang, gripping, and every parents nightmare.... a little girl goes missing on a packed London tube train... but then it starts to become rather complicated with too many characters, too many flashbacks, and too many secrets....
It felt as if everything but the kitchen sink was thrown into the plot, and I was confused (not unusual for me). Trying to keep up with all the main characters and their motives and lies unfortunately just didn't work for me.
I would like to thank the author, the publisher and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC of this book. It was a good read and kept me guessing right to the end.
I am a huge fan of Andrea Mara and I was delighted to get the opportunity to read her newest book No One Saw a Thing. This was of the most gripping and thrilling books I have read in a long time. I read it over the course of a day as I simply couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to read more from the author in the future.
This book had me HOOKED! Focusing on the disappearance of a little girl on the London Underground I was kept on the edge of my seat and didn't want to put my kindle down. I can only imagine the terrifying thought of losing your child anywhere, let alone a huge city.
I loved how all the characters were fully developed and had their own stories. Something I find that the author excels at. It really drew me in, and made me feel part of the inner circle of friends. I enjoyed the multiple timelines too, seeing the present where the child is missing, days prior to the traumatic event, and then decades earlier. They really set the scene and allowed you to get a feel of the inner workings of the group of friends we read about.
With so many twists and turns along the way, No One Saw A Thing has become one of my favourite reads of the year so far.
This is the first book by this author but won't be my last. I loved the central question - what would you do as a parent in this situation and the twist and turns that this story took. A brilliant fast paced crime thriller!
5⭐️
A truly unnerving and fast paced psychological thriller you’ll struggle to put down! 🔥
Faye, 6, and Bea, 2, step onto the tube before their mother has a chance to board. However, at the next stop only Bea gets off and Faye is nowhere to be seen. As the title suggests, no one saw a thing in the busy rush hour commute. Where could she have possibly gone?
Do you like multiple POVs, a dual timeline, short chapters, a hooking opening and shady characters where everyone is a suspect? If so, then this well-plotted book is a must for you! 😍
I was drawn into the opening immediately, like I was with All Her Fault, and then I struggled to put the rest of the book down. Mara is exceptional at taking a parents worst nightmare and bringing it to life on the page. I get the packed tube every morning and the influx of commuters causes a maelstrom. Thinking about Sive being split up from her two young daughters on the Central line and my own experience of the London Underground made a daunting read as this scenario could so easily happen.
Although this book is predominantly told from Sive’s POV, I loved the other POVs too. There was characters I liked and others who I despised, but I loved how I kept changing my mind. I really like being kept on my feet when reading and this book really does that to you.
I had a slight inkling with who was involved, but as Mara has created an array of untrustworthy characters, I changed my mind throughout and I was impressed at the end. Secrets percolate throughout this read and I really enjoyed it. It really goes to show that everyone has their secrets don’t they? Including you!
A huge thanks @bantambooksuk, @netgalley and @andreamaraauthor for this ARC, which is out now! 😍

Awesome.
I know many things about Larissa.
I know what she eats, which must-have brands she applies to her face, and the price of each carefully selected ‘piece’ in her multi-million-pound home in Belgravia.
Because Ris, as she is known to her many followers, likes to share. And now I’m here, in her home, watching her every move. Entrusted with her secrets and running her diary from the bijou basement flat, I’m on hand to fulfil Ris’ every need. Her right-hand woman. But what she doesn’t know is why I’m really here.I’ve put a lot on the line to get this job, and now my plan can begin. I’ve waited long enough.
It was a different read.
Thanks to NetGalley and Random House UK Transworld Publishers Bantam for giving me an advance copy.
Thanks to Penguin Books Ireland and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this brilliant new book by Andrea Mara. With a nightmare situation, good characters and a jumping timeline, as well as plenty of twists and turns this is a really great read that hooked me from page 1!!
I have had this on my NetGalley TBR for so long! I requested it as soon as it was announced as I really enjoyed Hide & Seek also written by Andrea Mara last year as part of a blog tour!
A mothers worst nightmare is losing her children and that's just what happens to Sive when both her children run ahead and hop onto the train with her just behind them.
However when the doors close without Sive she shouts for them to get off at the next stop but only one child is there to meet her and everything is not as it seems!
I read this as a buddy read with some of the lovely girls from @fully_booked_book_club and it was a great read for discussions! I did have some gripes with the story like why would she not get a taxi or uber instead of the busy tube and why didn't she just leave her phone to ring off and keep her eyes on her children at all times and lastly why would she tell them to jump on ahead of her! The children should of been on reins!
Despite my gripes it was still a gripping read and every chapter had you on edge and wanting to know what happenend to Faye! At the start I didnt see the relevance of the meet up chapters but as the story progresses, everything makes sense!
If you like thrillers with lots of twists, turns, deciet and unrealiable narrators then this one is definitely for you!
📕 Two children get on the train. Only one gets off...
No one saw it happen.
You stand on a crowded tube platform in London. Your two little girls jump on the train ahead of you. As you try to join them, the doors slide shut and the train moves away, leaving you behind…
WOW!! What a fast paced, twisty thriller!
Based in London we follow a Mothers worst nightmare as she is separated from her children when the train doors close. Told over a duel timeline with a vast array of characters and many red herrings along the way, it becomes evident that there are many enemies and possible suspects of who could have taken the little girl.
I thought I had it guessed, but nope! The ending was stellar. I had my heart in my mouth until the very end. Wonderful storytelling and writing. I can’t wait to read another novel from this author.
Many thanks to @netgalley @randomhouse @penguinrandomhouse @andreamara for an advanced reading copy.

🚂Two children get on the train. Only one gets off... 👀
The fear and anxiety I felt as Sive watches the tube doors close with her two kids on board the tube, and she’s left standing on a crowded platform. I could feel the panic radiating from these pages. This only heightens when Sive realises only one of her daughters got off the train at the next stop and the other one is missing. Has she gotten lost or has someone kidnapped her? This is just the beginning of a clever twisty thriller
