Oh, my! This is an excellent psychological thriller about a strange woman; Josie and a successful podcaster, Alix, who, they learn are ‘birthday twin’s’. Josie schemes to get close to Alix and does so via persuading her to let her tell her story by podcast. In telling her story, Josie unravels.

It’s so well written and I loved the idea of some of the chapters being told as a Netflix special . So, there are chapters written as the action takes place and some, by people being interviewed for the podcast / Netflix special, telling of their experiences.

I was absolutely enthralled throughout. A fabulous 5* read and thanks so much to NetGalley and Random House, Cornerstone for the opportunity to preview.

A creepy and heart-stopping read!! I loved the way the information was slowly revealed. All the while you have the feeling, all is not as it seems.
It's just a reminder of what can lurk behind closed doors and leaves you desperate to read on!
The characters were perfect! Well formed and twisted, some unusually so.
I stayed up reading into the early hours to unravel the story and loved every word!

Another fabulous read by Lisa Jewell I just loved it!

What an interesting story. Josie and Alix are birthday twins that randomly meet in a restaurant as they celebrate their birthdays thus leading to a twisty and intriguing thriller. Well drawn characters. Thoroughly recommend this book.
I received this book from Random House UK and Netgalley for a review

Definitely an auto purchase author for me .
What an exciting new novel with a very unusual theme. Podcasts within a book, worked so well.
We’ll written, kept me hooked.

I really liked this book! I thought the format was interesting and unusual - a mix of present day in the thick of the story, and also reading dialogue from a future Netflix documentary. I found the character of Alix likeable, the character of Josie weirdly eerie, and the overall storyline rather intriguing. One small thing that has bugged me since finishing it though it a sort of unresolved plothole - what is causing the smell coming from Erin's bedroom? Josie refers to "that thing in there" a few times, causing a bad smell etc., but these comments never lead anywhere... Other than that, I enjoyed this read!

Oh Lisa Jewell, you’ve done it again!

None of this Is True is the story of two women, born on the same day, in the same hospital, living ten minutes apart, but whose lives couldn’t be any more different. After a chance encounter on their 45th birthday, their lives begin to intermingle as Alix Summers interviews the enigmatic Josie Fair for her popular podcast.

But all is not what it seems (obvs!) and as more and more dark secrets are revealed, Alix realises that she as well as her family are at risk…but of what?

Juicy, tense, unputdownable. This author knows how to write one heckuva thriller.

None of this Is True publishes on July 20th here in the UK. Don’t miss it this perfect summer read.

What an incredible book! I loved the way the story was written from different angles and perspectives including screenplays. Very twisty, never know who to trust, it makes for a very fast paced read that is hard to put down. I enjoyed how it makes the reader questions everything and shows how some people perceive things as very different to others. A lot of mentions of "my truth" which has come to somehow have weight in todays world where there is only "the truth" and all else is opinion and perspective.

Thanks NetGalley!

I thoroughly enjoyed this very contemporary thriller set in the emerging world of podcasts. Alix is a successful podcaster, with a lovely, stylish bit lived in house in London, a husband who is a high earner but also a binge drinker who sometimes forgets to come home, she has two young children.
Josie is married to a man much older than her, having met him in questionable circumstances when she was a teenager, they have one estranged daughter and one who never comes out of her room. They live in a small flat close to Alix but a million miles away on lifestyle.
They meet when they are both in the same restaurant celebrating their birthdays on the same day - Birthday Twins! It’s a fateful meeting and Josie engineers a way for them to meet again.
Their children attended the same school, fate just needs a helping hand!
Alix’s current podcast series has run itself out, she’s not sure what to do next. Josie convinces her that a story covering a woman who is turning her life around, deciding there’s a better life out there and going for it, would be a good story. It doesn’t all feel exactly right to Alix, but as she starts recording in the studio she has at home, she feels the tingle that tells her this could be great!
What follows is a story of obsession, stalking, duplicity, betrayal and shocks and surprises. Is Alix’s husband really just going on benders? Was Josie the victim of a groomer? Where is her daughter? Why do things keep going judging from Alix’s house. It’s a tale of abuse, with intrigue right up until the end of the book.
You want to know what’s coming next - an absolute necessity in a thriller, you are engaged in the lives of these women even as their respective lives appear to be falling apart at the hands of their husbands.
I couldn’t put this down, a real page turner, for sure. Another triumph from Jewell who is producing great contemporary thrillers.
It’s published in July and definitely one to pre-order!

This is a dark, chilling psychological thriller that keeps you guessing - literally to the last page.
Randomly brought together in a restaurant on the day of there 45th birthday, two women embark on the making of a podcast, and their lives become darkly and terrifyingly entwined.
There are many twists and turns to this story, individual characters having different ideas of the ‘truth’. What can we actually believe?
A recurring theme: If bad circumstances develop incrementally, insidiously, how do you know when to put a stop to something? And when does it become too late.
The story switches between ‘real time’ events and snippets from a ‘true crime’ documentary, so you know something bad will be revealed eventually. The author uses hints and teasers to nicely ramp up the drama and tension.
Don’t want to give away any spoilers; this is an excellent read.

My goodness – if you are ever having a bit of reader's block then this is the book you need to devour to break it.

Three books in six days that just weren't doing anything at that time for me so I picked this up and through the power of Jewel was thrown into a web of deceit and lies (always a good thing). Interspersed with clips from a podcast and a true-crime documentary it follows the story of Birthday Twins, Josie (45, two grown kids and married to an older man) and Alix (born on the same day in the same hospital, married, two kids and a successful podcaster). Alix is persuaded to record a podcast with Josie as she claims her life is about to change – and what follows is that story.

As we progress through the narrative and Josie's family life and background is slowly revealed, the shocks and lies keep hitting you. Right to the very last pages. And much like the first Lisa Jewel I read, you’ll just want to keep reading until you collapse with exhaustion.

The whole narrative had me totally gripped throughout wondering which direction it was going to go in next. And like my first taste of Lisa – The Family Upstairs – this takes you places you didn't know you needed to be or, in fact, wanted to be. It slowly builds the tension and you will ultimately be questioning what the truth of the story is – such is the deceit within Josie’s family.

A tour-de-force of storytelling which in my opinion is even better than The Family Upstairs.

And no word of a lie ‘None of this is True’ looks set to be one of my Top 10 books of the year.

Another great book by Lisa Jewell! I couldn't wait to read this book as I've read all of her other books.

Josie and Alix discover they are birthday twins when they are celebrating (separately) at a restaurant. Josie wants to change her life so she asks Alix, a podcaster, if she can help her. Alix jumps at the chance to tell Josie's story which leads to dire consequences. You will not be able to put this book down!

Two women, podcaster Alix and seamstress Josie are celebrating their 45th birthdays at the same restaurant. They have never met before but when Josie starts up a conversation they discover that not only were they born on the same day but at the same hospital, they call themselves "birthday twins".
Josie is about to make great changes in her life and becomes fixated on persuading Alix to tell her story. Only once she has agreed and started the process does Alix begin to appreciate just how many dark secrets Josie has been hiding and how many lies she has been told.

Lisa Jewell is such a clever writer, this novel proves she is a master of misdirection, every time I thought I knew where the story was going she threw in another twist to prove me wrong. A brilliant psychological thriller that twists and turns to a masterful ending, one that I never saw coming.
I am grateful to Cornerstone, Random House & Netgalley for providing me with an ARC in return for my honest review.

Oh my goodness!! I read this in less than 24 hrs…what a book. I’m utterly speechless and now need to go for a long walk with my poor dog who has been waiting very patiently whilst I sat motionless not wanting to put the story down until it was finished.

Wow! Wow! And wow! I completely and utterly loved #NoneofthisisTrue, the latest offering from Lisa Jewell.
She just keeps getting better and better!
From the creepy character development, carefully constructed plot, and the general feeling of unease that runs throughout the story, 'None of This is True' is certainly a gripping, page-turner and will have you taking an extra long, hard look at the people you call your friends.
The story could be over-complicated with its simultaneous tellings from the point of view of different characters, different timelines, and different media, but Lisa Jewell at all times keeps a firm and orderly handle on the storyline as she steers her readers through its rapidly developing layers to a chilling ending.

And here is another great read by Lisa Jewell. This book was very different to her others in certain ways - no flash back, fairly stable single person point of view and the Netflix inserts. It was very twisted and even by the end I’m not sure what was actually true. The main character lied so much she obviously started to believe her own lies. The poor people who were damaged along the way, just tug at your heart strings. A truly gripping read.

I’m kind of speechless after finishing this book. None of This is True is the best psychological thriller I’ve read. I literally read it in one sitting, I just couldn’t put it down!

I’ve read quite a few of Lisa Jewell’s books now but I do think this is my favourite.

The story being part told through a podcast/Netflix show was fantastic and a really unique take on this genre. Although you kind of could guess where the story may go there was no way I could predict what was going to happen. The twists and turns are fantastic and kept me gripped throughout.

Can’t recommend this enough for any fans of suspense/thriller novels or if you need something to get you hooked!
