Absolutely loved this!! Lisa Jewell is one of my favourite authors and she never disappoints. This was just a perfectly constructed multi-media thriller and I couldnt put it down. The concept is so so clever and I just loved it!! Filled with suspense and twists, I had no idea what was going to happen in the best way!

Wow, what a brilliant read. I have literally finished this book whilst eating my lunch as I could not put it down! I was a little unsure at first but was soon completed drawn in by the storyline. Alex is married to Nathan and they have two young children. She is also a successful podcaster. Josie has come into some money and decided to treat herself and her husband to a meal in an expensive restaurant to celebrate her forty fifth birthday. Her attention is drawn to the party celebrating at the next table and that it is also the woman’s forty fifth birthday but soon realises that their lives are poles apart. Josie becomes obsessed with Alix and after going online discovers that she is a podcaster. She then manages to bump into Alix asks her if she will do a podcast on her life. Josie married an older man at sixteen years of age and has two teenage daughters with multiple problems. Alix is drawn in by Josie’s story but finds it has lots of discrepancies and is unsure who to believe. Soon she is totally immersed in Josie’s life and disturbing events begin to happen. The story is interspersed with episodes from the Netflix documentary and completely had me hooked. This is one of my favourite books in the last twelve months.
Thanks to Netgalley and Penguin for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

This was absolutely fantastic and it had me hooked right from the very start.
I have always loved Jewell's writing style as she manages to craft a story with twists that even I (the queen of guessing plot twists before they happen) cannot predict. It was a wild ride and I didn't want to put the book down until I had learned every scrap of detail about what happened. The story becomes super dark with a ton of twists, and it creates this fantastic element of suspense. I've seen some people complaining about how it ends and, whilst I obviously don't want to spoil anything, I personally thought it was a great ending.
If you're thinking about picking this one up then I highly recommend that you do so! It's a really fantastic read.
Many thanks to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for sending me a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

It’s one of those books that I can already tell would make a great tv adaption!!! Would love to see it on the big screen.

I would 100% would recommend this book to fans of thriller/suspense. It has me gripped from the beginning. I didn’t give it the 5 stars due to the ending… which I cannot get into because it will be a spoiler, but still what a GEM of a book.

4.25 stars
As expected, this is another great story from Lisa Jewell.
This was a bit of a different take on a thriller and I really enjoyed that. It was the type of book that had me hooked from the very beginning and kept my attention the whole way through.
At a certain point you can kind of tell where it was going and ultimately how it was going to end. But there were plenty of great reveals and twists throughout.
I also particularly liked the Netflix documentary sections that were woven in.
A lot of the story and subject matters made me feel quite uneasy and the way that Josie acts, especially around Alix, is so creepy.
Unfortunately the last few chapters felt a little bit unfinished, if that makes sense. And I'm still not sure what to think about Josie's final chapter either. After what's happened, who should we believe?
But this was a real page turner, with short, snappy chapters.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A Rollercoaster of Secrets and Intrigue
I thoroughly enjoyed Lisa Jewell's "None of This is True," a riveting tale that begins with a seemingly chance encounter and unravels into a web of dark secrets. The story is centred around Alix Summer, a podcaster celebrating her 45th birthday, and Josie Fair, a mysterious woman who claims to be on the brink of life-altering changes.
The narrative takes unexpected turns, keeping readers on the edge of their seats. Jewell skillfully weaves a sense of unease throughout the story, creating an atmosphere of suspense that is hard to shake off. The characters are well-developed, and the dynamics between Alix and Josie add a layer of complexity to the plot.
The exploration of Josie's secrets is both thrilling and chilling, making it difficult to put the book down. The pacing is commendable, with revelations strategically placed to maintain the suspense without feeling rushed. Jewell's writing style is engaging, drawing readers into the lives of the characters and making them feel invested in the unfolding mystery.
However, there were a few aspects of the book that left me wanting. The resolution of certain plot points felt a bit too tidy, and I wished for a bit more exploration into the aftermath of the revelations. Additionally, some secondary characters could have been more fleshed out to provide a deeper understanding of their motivations.
In conclusion, "None of This is True" is a gripping and entertaining read that keeps you guessing until the very end. Lisa Jewell's storytelling prowess shines through, making this a compelling addition to the suspense genre. While I yearned for a bit more depth in certain areas, the overall experience was enjoyable, leaving me eager to explore more of Jewell's works.

Another absolute belter from Lisa Jewell, None of This Is True is edge of your seat thrilling, with horrific secrets and lies at its core. A staggeringly twisting and twisted tale, masterfully told.

Deliciously dark and unsettling with off-the-scale twistiness, this is hands down my favorite Jewell to date. Could I put it down? No. Did I read it in one sitting? Yes. Did I guess where it was going? Not a chance!
The clue is in the title. There is absolutely nothing in this story that you can take at face value, with Jewell spinning an impenetrable web of secrets and lies and deftly blurring the lines between fact and fiction.
Populated with weird, creepy characters and an overwhelming sense of unease, the plot unfolds with a tantalizing tension. And even though you’re primed to the unreliability of certain voices, nothing prepares you for the deluge of twists that come flooding out of nowhere as the narrative builds to a climax. The ending floored me completely.
Hats off to Jewell for her matchless skill in misdirection and for what will surely be one of my top thriller reads of 2023.

Such a brilliant book, I couldn’t put it down and I finished it very quickly.
Brilliant characters, full of twists. I love how Lisa built the plot around the mystery by using the podcast interview.
Absolutely amazing, I will read more books from this author!

I really enjoyed this story, I'm a big fan of Lisa's, and this one did not disappoint!
This story followed Josie & Alix, who met on a night out, and it just happened to be both of their 45th birthdays (birthday twins!). Alix makes true crime podcasts, and Josie befriends her later on to do a podcast on her.
I didn't know how this was going to pan out the whole way, and then ending was so twisty!

Psychological thriller that had me at the edge of my seat. Very smart, dark and some great twists.
Thanks to Penguin and Netgalley for the
ARC.

I’d like to thank Rachel Quin and Penguin audio for inviting me to take part in the blog tour for this fab audiobook!
🎙️Can we first take a moment to talk about the fantastic narration. The whole style of the book from the podcast interviews to the multiple narrators really brings the story to life.
🤫I felt myself changing sides throughout the book. Lisa Jewell had me doubting everything and suspecting everyone until the final moments. Those chilling final chapters really messed with my head!
⭐I was planning to post my thoughts throughout the listen-along but I found the story too addictive and ended up finishing it in a day! I had to know what happened next!
🕵🏻♀️This was a classic Lisa Jewell, filled with mystery, intrigue and chilling characters. Buckle up readers because you are in for a ride!

I really enjoyed this book! Lisa Jewell is an auto buy author for me, and stories like this are exactly why. She grabs you from the first oages, immerses you into her stories and refuses to let go until the very last page! Would definitely recommend!

Josie and Alix encounter each other in a fancy restaurant, where each are celebrating their 45th birthday. when they find out that they were born on the same day in the same hospital, it kicks off an encounter that will impact their lives in ways they could never have imagined.
Alix is a successful podcaster and entrepreneur, living a beautiful life with her handsome, successful husband and children. Josie is a part-time seamstress, living a quiet life with her much older, retired husband.
Josie starts telling Alix her story and the darkness starts to slowly reveal itself, but how much of her story is true?
We learn the story of Josie’s life along with Alix as she reveals more and more of her story for the podcast, and it is riveting to follow the twists and turns as Alix follows the story and then starts investigating it herself, as she starts to suspect that she may not be getting the full truth from Alix.
The suspense builds throughout the book, culminating in an outcome that I didn’t guess, which I loved - I read a lot of this style of book and it can sometimes be predictable, but I didn’t feel that about this. The characters were well drawn and believable, and I really enjoyed the story.
I think Lisa Jewell has firmly found her niche in this style of book and cannot wait to read more!
I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

An engaging psychological thriller. Set aside your weekend as once you start you won’t want to stop reading! Brilliant.

I couldn’t put the book down, I have always been a fan of Lisa Jewell and I think this is one of her best.
The characters were complex and interesting and the twists and turns of the story kept you guessing up to the end. A fabulous read I strongly recommend.

Addictive story I couldn't stop reading. One of Lisa Jewell's best, I really enjoyed both stories and the twists. I wasn't too happy with the final ending but I liked the lead-up to everything.

I've read a few books by this author so knew I would be expecting a twisted thriller. We meet Josie Fair and Alix Summers who are birthday twins, born on the same day, year and hospital. They don't know each other and are strangers until they meet in a restaurant where they are both celebrating their birthdays. Josie seeks Alix out afterwards, knowing her to be a well known podcaster, with a view to telling Alix her story.
This was a very suspense filled read. Both characters were interesting, although I liked Alix more than Josie. Josie was a strange character and whilst I should have liked her and felt sorry for her there was something about her I didn't trust. Alix is persuaded into doing a story on the fact that they are birthday twins, but the story changes as Josie begins telling Alix about her life. Josie certainly made me feel very uneasy throughout the whole story, but initially I couldn't work out why!
The storyline is told from the points of view of the two main characters, alternating through the chapters as we go. It's a little bit of a slow burn, but the tension and suspense builds as the story moves on. It twists and turns throughout and you are left with wondering who is telling the truth...if anyone is! The ending was a slight letdown for me, with the usual twist at the end missing. I still really enjoyed the mystery and intrigue between the two women and was totally immersed in their storyline. Would recommend.

I was really excited to get a copy of this one and did enjoying reading it. But it isn't my favourite Lisa Jewell - it lacked her usual twisty ending and just kind of ambled along for me. That said, I did like the book and read it really quickly, so I would absolutely recommend it to a thriller reader.

Compulsively readable, sinister and yet totally believable. I couldn't put this down! None of This is True was written by Jewell in about 6 months, and the pace of the story reflects this. There was no time to draw breath, I just had to read on to find out whether Alix would be okay, and if Josie was really the woman we are led to believe she is. Twisty and clever, None of This is True demonstrates Jewell's mastery of psychological thrillers.
