This is somehow my very first Lisa Jewell novel and I am now absolutely hooked! I love that she doesn't shy away from the darkness and really goes for it - and these characters are so delicious, I'd follow them anywhere. I can't wait to dive into her backlist!

Lisa doesn’t disappoint and this is another great read
A brilliant storyline and great page turner
Can’t wait to read her next book
Thanks NetGalley

Lisa Jewell never fails. I read this a while ago and forgot to write a review (so sorry!) but i enjoyed this book so much that i bought the hardback on release too! 4.5 stars from me

Wow! Another 5 star success story from Lisa Jewell. Full of the usual twists and turns, this will have you fixated from page to page. I read in one sitting as I just couldn't put it down. If you love Lisa Jewell, you'll love this book!

I don’t know what to believe!
This book had me completely hooked! I found it interesting the way it was done through a podcast style. It worked really well. I have since listened to the audiobook version which is also fantastic. The audiobook switches from narration, to podcasts and broadcasts to high makes it easier to listen to.

What a fabulous audiobook!
Oh, I love those times when you start an audiobook, and you are hooked straight away. You love the premise, the narrator, the style of writing. You listen to it as much as you can, and then you have an audiobook hangover when it's finished. Where you want to replicate it, but nothing holds your attention like it did.
This is one book that I would recommend the audiobook over the regular book. It reads perfectly as an audiobook- the cast of characters and the different points of view. I also loved the little additions like the background noises to add authenticity.
All the narrators were amazing, and my attention was held through the entire book.
The plot? I love true crime podcasts, and this book has reminders of True Crime Story, which I also loved.
There are times when I gasped out loud at the developments, and there are some shocks in store in the second half. I am still getting my thoughts together on the ending!
Highly recommended.

You can't go far wrong with a book by this author and this one doesn't disappoint either. Nice short chapters and lots of twists and turns, Loved it!

Celebrating her forty-fifth birthday at her local pub, popular podcaster Alix Summers crosses paths with an unassuming woman called Josie Fair. Josie, it turns out, is also celebrating her forty-fifth birthday. They are, in fact, birthday twins. Josie listens to Alix's podcasts and thinks that she might be an interesting subject for her series. Josie's life appears to be strange and complicated, and although Alix finds her unsettling, she can't quite resist the temptation to keep making the podcast. Slowly she starts to realise that Josie has been hiding some very dark secrets. Who really is Josie Fair? And what has she done?
I loved this thrilling page turner. This is perfect for spooky season, I couldn't put it down. With the chapters alternating between the perspectives of Alix and Josie, you find yourself questioning what to believe. A fast paced dramatic read. Get this one on your reading pile!

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
None of this is True is another captivating and twisty read by Lisa Jewell, which, after reading the title, makes you question everything the main characters say and do from start to finish.
Josie Fair is married with two grown-up daughters and a husband much older than her. On her birthday night out with her husband, she meets Alix Summer, who's also out with her husband and group of friends celebrating her own birthday. The women briefly meet in the ladies' toilets and realise they're born on the same day and are the same age. Josie goes home and becomes obsessed with Alix after discovering she's a successful podcaster who's done a series about influential women. Josie barges into Alixs life with a proposal Alix can't refuse and from there, a dark and sinister story unfolds - but how much is true...
I loved this book and was on edge with Josie but tried to give her the benefit of the doubt at times. Lisa Jewell knows how to twist a clever story and cover all bases. This book does have some stomach turning past time events which unfold, so please check the trigger warnings.
TW: alcoholism, paedophile, abuse, neglect.

Lisa Jewell just gets better and better at unpicking the darker side of the female psyche. From the instant I read the phrase 'I'm Your Birthday Twin!' I knew i was in for a deliciously uncomfortable yet riveting read. Flawlessly brilliant as per usual. Hugely recommend.

There has been a huge amount of publicity and reviews about this book, unfortunately I seem to have read a completely different version as I really struggled to like this one, the idea was great but I didn’t like the characters and therefore I didn’t really care what happened to them. Sorry.

What an amazing thriller from Lisa. She has always been a favourite author for thrillers and this ons is my favourite. Had me hooked from chapter one and loved the podcast element

4.5
I loved this book. I loved the birthday twins storyline and I loved how you never quite knew what was going on. It held my attention from the very beginning and I loved thatr you didnt know who to trust. This was a refreshing change to most other thriller books out there and I couldn't get through the chapters quick enough. An excellent book

I always highly anticipate the release of a new book from Lisa Jewell, she is a master thriller author, but sadly, this wasn't my favourite of hers. While she is still the undisputed Queen of the slow burn, the whole book felt like it was edging us closer to her usual twisty finale... but then I was left disappointed to find there was no big twist, no shocking secret, no huge 'WTF??!!!?' moment. It was flat and predictable and I almost wondered if they'd forgotten to publish the last fifty shocking, truth revealing pages. Both MCs were unlikeable and not in a 'love to hate them' kind of way. I wasn't rooting for anyone, I found I just didn't care about them at all. This is not a bad book by any stretch of the imagination, but it was not up to her usual standard.

Absolutely loved it. The description of psychological thriller could not be truer for this book.
Two women both celebrating their 45th birthday in a swanky restaurant. Birthday twins but their lives are far from parallel. Beautiful, successful Alix podcaster is looking for a new angle in her podcasts, Josie tells Alix that she is about to change her life and would Alex like to record the process?
Josie let’s Alix into every angle of her life. It is a life of neglect, abuse, grooming and two daughters, one of which is ‘missing’ and the other hides away in her bedroom.
The chapters are short, easy to put down and pick up again. It’s obvious something bad has happened and what’s more because it was recorded for a podcast, it also makes a great Netflix series. You kind of feel that it’s maybe all a lie, but is it?

This is a cleverly written thriller, it pulled me in and before I knew it I was trying to find ways to keep reading to find out what happens!
The author is a brilliant storyteller and very talented at building a world without saying too much - just enough detail to pique your interest and short chapters to help keep driving the story forward. I love listening to a podcast and am guilty of falling into the true crime drama wormhole during the lockdowns, so having one of the main characters as the host of a popular podcast was a neat touch.
I never knew who was really telling the truth - Josie seems a bit off-centre from the outset, but is Alix as put together as she seems? And what about everyone else? Does Josie have a plan from the start or is everything a series of unfortunate events? I'm still not sure.
Dark and twisty, this was a brilliant read which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I love this authors books and her latest book None of This is True by
Lisa Jewell was no different, she never disappoints!. I was gripped from the beginning till the end. I loved it especially as I could not put it down. With so many twists and turns throughout made a great story, and made it one of my favourite book of the year.
I highly recommend this book and all Lisa's books. They have been a 5 star read.

Wow. Just wow. This is Lisa’s best book yet. I blame her for my crap performance at work due to reading into the early hours. Words cannot describe how good this book is. Would love a follow up to see how the main characters move on.
Just brilliant!

Would have read through the night if I could have. I loved the use of a podcast to both set the scene and create context and narrative. The story felt fresh but had so many twists and turns, suspense and even horror.
Local celebrity, Alix and boring housewife, Josie coincidentally celebrate their 45th birthday at their local pub. Josie decides she wants to befriend Alix, and ever the master, manages to manipulate the situation so that Alix creates a podcast with Josie in the starring role. But what appears to be a simple story quickly turns sinister and it becomes challenging to decipher wait is real and what is delusion.
I don't want to reveal more, the less you know the more the impact. But the story, the pace, the characters will have you reeling and unable to put this down until the chilling end.

⭐️ 4.5 ⭐️
Rounded up to 5 stars
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
Lisa Jewell is high on my list of auto-buy authors, so I couldn’t wait to get my teeth into this one.
Brilliantly written as always, Jewell is a superb storyteller who yet again pulled me in from the intriguing beginning to the very end.
The chapters are nice and short (just how I like them), and the narrators are unreliable; I was never quite sure who was telling the truth. The characters are a pretty unlikeable bunch, but they certainly get under your skin, especially Josie.
None of This is True is a slow-burn, twisty psychological thriller with a tense atmosphere, and a sense of foreboding that is palpable in parts.
Another brilliant read from Lisa Jewell.
