This was probably the best thriller I have read this year. I was completely hooked from the start and was constantly left wanting more.
I listened to an episode of You’re Booked where Lisa was interviewed, which is what prompted me to start reading this. And I could not believe that she just writes and sees where the story takes her - the twists just seem too good to not be planned to a T!
This felt like a super dark read, then you hit a point where you aren’t sure what the truth is and although there is a sad ending, I did breathe a sigh of relief after the journey I had been taken on.

I read this in one sitting, I just couldn't stop reading and I didn't want too. Twisty and dark i didn't know what was going to happen and I had to know immediately

Wow I mean I do love Lisa’s books but this one is simply addictive from page one.
Alix and Josie both share the same birth date and fate brings them together. Alix is a successful podcaster and Josie is a downcast mother of 2 who married at the age of 18. Josie asks Alix to help document her metamorphosis.
Does Josie have the whole thing planned from day one or does she change her plans as she becomes obsessed with Alix and her life? Who is the real Josie?
The story evolves with each page you turn right to the end. So much so you don’t want the story to end. Josie Fair will stay in my head for a long time and I will find myself looking over my shoulder the next time I visit the Lake District.

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.
Alixis celebrating her 45th birthday in the same restaurant as Josie. They bump into each other a few days later and Josie asks Alix if she will consider using her as the subject of her next podcast. Alix agrees aand after a few recording sessions Alix thinks Josie’s life is strange and complicated but continues to dig even though she finds her unsettling. Alix starts to discover Josie has some dark secrets and before she can get any from Josie she has become entangled in Alix’s life and her home.

Loved this book it was so different and the story line will stick with me. Some thrillers follow a similar pattern and burr into one but this will stick with me. I love how Lisa Jewell does not have a same pattern that she sticks to her stories are always so different and memorable. I loved the modern elements to the story eg covid and podcasts. Highly recommended

Oh I loved this thriller so much! It follows Josie who is at a local restaurant celebrating her 45th birthday when she spots local podcaster Alix at another table celebrating her birthday. Josie makes sure to bump into her and mentions that they're birthday twins and suggests Alix makes a new podcast about this. Josie has a rollercoaster of a story to tell and it leaves you wondering how much of what she says is the truth. Alix starts to feel suspicious of some of what Josie is saying but she's also intrigued and aware of this being for a podcast so sticks with it. The slow downing realisation of the darkness in Josie's story is so unnerving but it definitely keeps you turning the pages. This novel gets so dark and twisty and I loved it. I don't want to risk spoiling anything that happens as the novel goes on but it is so good, and I highly recommend reading it!

Wow Lisa Jewel does it again!!
From the first chapter I was hooked and intrigued by the characters, wondering where the story will go. You find yourself drawn into a psychological thriller that has so many twists within a podcast/ documentary format that leaves you debating who do you believe. Will definitely be recommending this to everyone!

I love Lisa Jewell and was very excited to read this one. I was not disappointed! I think it fits very well into the 'untrue crime' genre and I was completely addicted. I also really liked that at the end, I still didn't really know who was telling the complete truth (or was anyone?!). Highly recommended!

It has been a long time since I read a mystery thriller, but in Lisa Jewell we trust. This was a very entertaining read, and I loved the multi-media element of it. For someone who rarely listens to podcasts, I’m starting to realise I enjoy when they’re incorporated into novels.
In terms of storyline I do think it was quite straightforward and predictable. I had hoped for more twists and bigger reveals, but None of This is True is quite cut and dry. This doesn’t mean this wasn’t a great read though, and it’s definitely given me the mystery thriller bug once more.

I think, at this point Lisa Jewell is my new found author of the year! Having read The Family Upstairs, Remains and now None of This is True this year, all of which have just made me want to dive deeper into her back catalogue.
I absolutely loved this book, Lisa Jewell has an intangible way of grabbing me early on, throwing me bite size portions of intrigue that leave me starving for me. And this one really delivered - a book I was desperate to get to the end of, yet equally trying to eek out reading the end because then my time with it would be over. Twisted, dark and addictive….whatever I choose to read next is going to have quite the shoes to fill!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I loved this book and was hooked from the start.
The story just sucks you in... All of the characters were well described and I felt like I was there.
I liked the whole netflix show side of it, particularly with the way it ended for Alix and how she was able to move forward.
I felt a bit sorry for Erin and Roxy, but the last bit from Josie did make me think!
Definitely worth a read. Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to read it.

This was an unusual story that really ducks and dives everywhere. A seemingly chance meeting between two 45 year old women turns into a rollercoaster ride of epic proportions as the story unwinds itself.
Not for the faint hearted with some rather gory and grim details, but it certainly is a thriller.
I enjoyed it.

This book was 𝐒𝐎 twisted. I knew from the get-go this was going to be a twisted read with way more depth to it than how it started and the further into each part of the story I got, the more twisted it became.
I had my suspicions about both Alix and Josie. Alix for eventually taking on the podcast with Josie (what was her motive) and Josie for now coming out in the open about her life and upbringing.
The characters were on point and very mysterious and creepy. The book gave off an atmosphere - even to the reader - which was uncomfortable and a lot f tension.
It was filled with twists and turns and never once did I imagine what was coming and what was going to happen. The book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. Even from page one, I knew I was in for a scary ride.
Lisa Jewell is the epitome of writing thrillers. She aces them every time and never fails to make the reader feel creeped out!
Thank you to @netgalley, @lisajewelluk and @penguinrandomhouse for allowing me this E-ARC!

Whilst out celebrating her 45th birthday with her boyfriend and friend well know podcaster Alix Summer crosses paths with Josie Fair
A few days later, they bump into each other again, this time outside Alix's children's school. Josie says she thinks she would be an interesting subject for Alix's podcast. She is, she tells Alix, on the cusp of great changes in her life.
Alix agrees to a trial interview and indeed, Josie's life appears to be strange and complicated. Aix finds her unsettling but can't quite resist the temptation to keep digging.
Slowly Alix starts to realise that Josie has been hiding some very dark secrets, and before she knows it Josie has cajoled her way into Alix's life - and into her home.
Soon Alix begins to wonder who is Josie Fair really? And what has she done?
Well what can I say about this book except that it is one you will really want to read or listen to as it’s just fantastic . I absolutely love domestic suspense thrillers especially ones with some horrible and unstable characters and with a storyline that will have you unable to put the book down then this book is for you . An utterly heart pounding and unputdownable read that for me is a 5⭐️ read .

This was my first ever Lisa Jewell book and I thoroughly enjoyed it! There was a tremendous sense of tension throughout, and Jewell cleverly manipulates our feelings for the two main female characters. The intermittent adding of a true crime podcast also allows her to play with the conceals and reveals- very clever! Would definitely recommend...

Review
You cant go wrong with a book written by Lisa Jewell, always well written with a strong storyline.
This book was a great dark thriller, and at the start was really engaging and kept the reader wanting more.
I did guess the main twist, whilst the ending wasnt bad, I just wanted abit more.
I was very close to giving this book 5⭐️ but something is holding me back. There was a couple of choices made in the book which I felt were unrealistic/weak. I would recommend this book though overall.
Rated 4.5/5
Thanks to Netgalley for an advanced copy in return for a honest review.

Lisa Jewell has done it again!
This is an incredibly intense psychological thriller. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting.

This was compelling and highly addictive.. A real domestic noir with quite a few unexpected twists and turns. Lisa Jewel books keep you engaged throughout and each is quite unique.

4.25 stars rounded to 4! This was a nice level of slow suspense and I had no idea what way it was going to go. The ending felt s little ambiguous, which may have been intentional, but I’d have preferred a clearer ending. Overall a great read but not as jaw dropping thrilling as I’d have expected!

Lisa Jewell is a master at creating novels that make your stomach lurch with foreboding and this latest offering is no different. The premise of meeting your 'birthday twin' and finding them encroaching on your life is horrifying enough for any introvert but what ensues is a twisted nightmare. Told through flashbacks and excerpts of a TV show, None of This Is True is bound to be another smash hit for Jewell.
