This is a first book of a series. The author has written an enchanting book about Hawaiian folklore and words. There are great illustrations. It is definitely worth reading as the story is fun, besides bringing attention to Hawaii as more than a tourist visit.

So much fun! This book is filled with adventure and wonderful characters, woven with the legends and lore of Hawaii. A few pictures sprinkled throughout help illustrate this delightful story. There are also definitions. My personal favorite - that I agree with 100% - musubi: a ridiculously delicious snack of rice, seaweed, spam, and seasoning. Highly recommended for kids looking for a good adventure and anyone curious about Hawaiian culture.
