I really struggled to finish this.
I found the story disjointed, jumping around, with too many different names.
It made it difficult to follow and I just could not engage with the characters.
This unfortunately was not for me.
The 2nd book in the cataclysm series, and I was waiting for it to be released!
The 2nd book provides the same fast paced action as the 1st book as Asher and gang head to blasted lands caused by the main force within the story.
Very different magic system, with a detailed description of the unique world around. Likable and believable cast of characters, where some make an appearance and then, they are gone. Sad but a harsh reality in a harsh land.
Now for a little constructive criticism...
I know this is a arc so both books need some editing...no biggie.
The story...some scenes felt forced, or more accurately rushed and resolutions were quite simple, when the situations were quote complex. To be fair, sometimes the simplest solutions are the best...however there wasn't alot of build-up.
Overall I would definitely recommend Aaron's books and really enjoyed the characters and am eagerly awaiting the next book. A book to be enjoyed by all epic fantasy lovers
