American author Antia Banner is best known for her Vampira novels but the terror here is of a different kind. The Gardners are black and poor but very very proud, living in a New Jersey town which is predominantly black but riddled with white crime.
From the moment of his birth, under a full moon, Hassan is different. He sees and hears things that no-one else does. His night terrors come every night and sleep becomes his enemy.
The author explores what it is to be different in a world full of stereotypes through glimpses of a dark, supernatural entity

Intriguing story that deals with supernatural feelings and possible powers. It's a short read, but note that you will need to read part 2 (when released) for the complete story. I am intrigued enough to want to read the next part, so I will be looking out for it.
